Artifacts of daily life as terrain scatter is something we need more of, frankly. It's great to see an artist setting aside the martial aspect of tabletop/wargaming terrain, and concentrating on civilian terrain for an unusual setting. :)
Now it really feels like your back mate😊 So good to see you enjoying things and looking happier. I think the secret of getting your mojo back is doing something you enjoy and WANT to build and then you bring us along for the journey. Don’t feel the need to plan projects to please us, just please yourself and enjoy. Great video, fun guide and Bose well and happy and back in the saddle…Life is good☺️ 👏👏👏👏
Mel you're a champion. This is exactly what terrain building should be i.m.o. Simple materials and good fun making things. Thanks for making great videos, and being so wholesome.
Hi ya Mel. Two studio builds in a row. You are on a roll. Lol. These small pieces came out wonderfully. But now I have a curious craving for chocolate donuts. Mmmmmmmmm donuts! Can’t wait for the next one. See ya.
i so wish i could find something i could be so passionate about. you should be so proud of yourself fella! keep up the great work. ps i don't do this but i enjoy watching you make these things.
Sorry to comment twice, but if you're looking for ideas, I'd love to see how you'd tackle some other simple scatter terrain like campfires, seating areas, storage areas etc. I'm working on a fantasy table at the moment and I'm thinking of trying some of these things myself soon. If you've got any tips on scratch building barrels as well, I'd love to hear it! Cheers again!
Ah so good to see you back, was a period of time where your channel was quiet and I was worried that was it. You bring such enthusiasm to the hobby, great range of projects and so much craft skill on show. Especially good to see you giving yourself a good bit of time on the ol' BBB - get yourself a game on it!. The scatter terrain turned out fab btw. Do what's right for you obviously but hope we get to witness you regaining a healthy happy creative energy
Btw if you want to check out a different type of terrain check out Marklin (the train guy), might be enjoyable viewing. Not sponsored I just like his videos as something different - loves making big cliffs, tunnels and bit bodies of water using loo roll instead of resin
This was good fun. I'm sure many others have suggested it but perhaps a amount of battle damaged forest may be in order at some point. Your set has been great so far, but it also looks like a shot has never been fired in it as well. Keep up the good work Mel, I look forward too the next one:)
Wicked! My usual go to for flat greenstuff is to take the GS blob, put it between some parchment paper and roll it out with a battery (or another roll type object). The parchment prevents it sticking and it's quite quick.
"turned out rather well" I see what you did there lol. These look great! I love the idea of the pig pens, I may do a few of these to go with my farmland pieces. Since they're for Warhammer, perhaps they'll be squig pens!
Well done sir! - with very few changes, those could be European, south Asian, African, even colonial North America - and practically any time period. Well designed, will look great in the Burma Jungle and inspires me to add some simple things to a village layout of my own to as you say - bring it to life.👏😊
Hi Mel. Great video on those tiny bits to liven a table. Just one question - I’ve been trying to source cheese cloth without much luck. Is there a particular brand or a place you source it?
@@luclin92 The problem is that most of those wouldn't live very well. A lot of the tropical pig types are darker and furred because it helps protect the pig from a lot of issues, disease being one of them.
He's back in action! Awe yea..
Its good to be back

It's crazy that civie stuff is considered unusual mate
This village scatter turned out just lovely!
I’m definitely looking forward to seeing your ideas for rice paddies!

what a lovely comment 👍
Great little terrain. And there is a happy tutor again ...
Bose! Why aren't you using a mini mel for scale purposes?!
So happy these videos are back, keep up the good work!
Mini mel should really have been sculpted as painting a palm tree.
I havent painted me yet
Gotta say, using mini-Mel as an in-camera scale comparison would be excellent branding.
Mel, I give my EPVC shapes a light sanding and then I can use PVA on the surfaces with no problem whatsoever. No separation issues at all.
Every time I watch one of your videos, I get incredibly inspired to build more terrain. Thank you!
Great stuff, can't wait to see what you've got planned next

Always love how you make things so simple. Good job mate!

Nice job Mel! This reminds me I have to do some laundry for the little pigs
Looks spot on again!
Very nice! All the best from the Netherlands.
Keep up the awesome builds. So excited to see more...cheers
Thanks 👍
Those are nice Mel and could easily be adapted to any period or location
Lovely scatter terrain from the Master 👍. Some many top tips, but that yellow ochre bit is a proper sparkler 😀.
Burma builds are always a winner! love em. keep it coming Mel :-)
Really good work as usual Mel.
Nice to see you back in action in the studio.
Mel, I picked up your book! It's amazing. A textbook level work on terrain.
Shows I used to be a lecturer lol

Cool. This should give me some ideas for jungle scenery for 19th-century Darkest Africa!

I'll be adding battle damage in the future mate

Heck Yeah - Its back!!
The well looks a bit like a sunken in doughnut XD Don't let Homer Simpson get too close. Nice work Mel.
Welcome back, nice bit of scatter.

Those look fantastic Mel, they'll really give those buildings a lived in feel.
"turned out rather well" I see what you did there lol.

Sometimes at "The Dollar Store" you can buy lil plastic farm animals. I got some lil pigs and chickens that would just love to go in that pen :)

Its on the list mate
Another great video!! Keep it up Mel! love your work!!!
Have a look at Iain Lovecraft for some Printable bits for Jungle Shrines .Can be another way to go on this terrain set instead of laser cut ? Good fun

Another mesmerising video as always. Where are the pigs?
They ran off lol, too small, had to order more mate
wow...
neat stuff now 999 morwe to go will be see more as post it
First time viewer and impressed. Will start working my way back through the series. Only question, I saw pigs, but what about chickens? Cheers Stu NZ
I'm afraid that a tiny Predator will kill all the villagers...
fantastic as always.
Hi Mel. Great video on those tiny bits to liven a table. Just one question - I’ve been trying to source cheese cloth without much luck. Is there a particular brand or a place you source it?
I get it from Amazon, try searching for Wellnur cheesecloth
Great stuff!
My oooonly criticism would be the colour of the well, looks a bit too reddish to me. Apart from that, everything's spot on!
Needs a wash mate
Mel, I'm not sure if the pigs are the right type for burma...I'd assume they'd be closer to the furred wild types than the basic hogs raised in farms.
Well might just be that the pigs are imported from the colonial times. And not a actual local species of pig
@@luclin92 The problem is that most of those wouldn't live very well. A lot of the tropical pig types are darker and furred because it helps protect the pig from a lot of issues, disease being one of them.
Is epvc called anything else? Would chipboard work for basing buildings and scatter terrain on
Can anyone stateside recommend a good location to pickup the EPVC sheets Mel is using?
i wish i could like twice
Have you done any videos on unwarping mdf terrain bases?
Yeah, have a look at my fighting the warp vid
What sort of clippers do you use for the wood?
Standard hobby wire clippers mate
@@TheTerrainTutor thanks
Hes making videos again !!!!!!!!!!!
Really nice. Does anyone know where is the video on making that ground flock cover?
Second video in the BBB playlist mate
@@TheTerrainTutor Oh thanks! Dried herbs, who would have guessed XD
where do you get the Epvc sheets for please ?
Hey Mel, what filler are you using? thank you :)
Diall mate
I can't remember the last time I said Chindits!

Chindits.
Ah, feel so much better.
