These bunkers turned out brilliantly Mel. I've always had a soft spot for swappable terrain but have often ended up giving up on it because it was twice the work and didn't really add much in the end. These are the perfect solution- and such a great surprise gameplay add! I love the idea of building the firing arc into the structure as well. Fantastic. :)
Great video, I'm glad you mentioned a hatch at the end, I was wondering how the soldiers would get in and out.
The only problem with these is, I have flashbacks to Call of Duty World at War.
Oh wow, those are fantastic! You should be really pleased with them.
Great film mel, first I've seen in a while as been in the black place and not in a good way,but theres light just starting to come in
Great video Mel, one thought I had was to glue in a washer or other metal bit painted black into the firing slit. Then taking some spare weapons from the plastic sprues, cut them down and glue a magnet to the back end. That way you can swap the weapon barrels to show occupied or empty with just a glance. Even cooler if you add muzzle flashes to the barrels.
The BBB is so cool. I've loved following it. So nice to follow a proper long term project.
Great video Mel. Really interesting have some terrain to make so loads of ideas. 👍
It is great to see you making this videos. They are really, really helpful. I allways get something new to put into practice in my projects.
Nice work Mel! The table is Really starting to come together. Thank you for the content
Dear Mel, bloody outstanding! Best Wishes Johnny
"Blend that log in" - that's what she said XD
Clever and effective...once more!👍👍
Looks good Mel!
But... Have you thought of the tree on the bunkers....
I can understand that you like to keep idea of the tree you removed before of the bunker.
But... When people dig a fire position, they remove the growth. And when you are done with the build, you can not plant it back (probably you have used the wood). When a tree can grow on your bunker... The roots go through the roof of the bunker...and that will take seriously years and years... Smal scrubbery, weeds and maybe small bushes... But a medium sized tree ... Not in a year or two or three.
Great build Mel, but the trees on the bunker roofs...
It would be realistic if they dug next to the tree.
Agree! Bunker *between* trees, not under them.
Also the "don't have to be perfect" (with the sculpting) made me giggle. Different terrain is supposed to never look the same, so making them look slightly different from each other is the definition of perfect in this case!
Glad to see you getting back the flow!
Would love to see you do a series of tutorials on scratch building little details for dioramas eg oil barrels, ammo crates, furniture, road signs, storage etc
Awsome stuff Mel! :)
Wow. I love them. I want a real one in my yard.
Those look good Mel
Love the BBB. Its my favorite youtube series by far.
You should add in afew flowers just to break up the brown/green palette. Not alot just afew here and there. :D
great video! happy to see the burma build saga continue
good vid mell thanks lee
I vote for a hatch! Great build Mel!
That’s awesome
Gun barrel(s) sticking out of the bunker.
Hi Mel just found your excellent channel, love it, I'm a total beginner, and I find it very valuable....just one question what are you using for your bases.
look awesome!
Brilliant.
Could you make pins with a Japanese flag, to poke into behind the bunker or on either side of the gun slit, to both mark and help show the angle of attack?
Those bunkers are so well done! I reckon a little hatch on the back would be handy.
I do have to ask though, how can you tell what the firing angle is? With the extra logs on the top, I can't tell. Is it clear to someone who plays a lot of Bolt Action?
What is the blue foam and what did you use for those board things at the bottom?
Would work for Vietnam , Malaysian conflict also
I think you just let the defensive player pick which ones are the bunkers. if you put a hatch, the offensive player will still see them
Can you come up with a simpler version of these high canopy jungle trees, to fill up half a table?
