  • In this episode of the Big Burma Build, my wargaming terrain project, we're setting up a jungle village by using an MDF buildings kit and converting it by basing, detailing and weathering the 4ground MDF kit to match the look of my BBB terrain. With these simple techniques, you'll be able to enhance any jungle MDF terrain buildings, so I hope you find them helpful folks!

First of all. Dude! you are Mel Bose the Terrain Tutor. The one and only. Thousands of people love you. You can do no wrong. I’m so very happy to see you in the studio again. I love this trading post and how it will integrate into the Burma Build. Beautiful. This village needs an outdoors canteen area. Maybe with someone cooking over a open flame. Thanks. See ya next time.

    Welcome back!
    Whats in a jungle village?
A shed with an ox outside with a fence. Some pigs And a chicken cage. Some hay stacks and crates.
A water well isn't really needed if near the water. But some cannoes...
    Maybe some place for Rituals...?
    Like that...
    Have fun!
    Bye
    Sylvain

Awesome video! Very excited to see the burma build come back :)
    As for building suggestions:
    - Some religious shrine
    - Radio station (would be a great objective)
    - Crashed airplane
    - Some burned down buildings

"They're not mistakes, just flocking indicators." 🤣🤣🤣 Welcome back, dude! The brown overspray really did a great, subtle job of dirtying up the building and making it look like it was built on-site a few years back. You don't have to be doing some insane, involved build for us to love your videos, Mel. Basic techniques are worth revisiting on a regular basis, and you do it better than most.

What about adding a piece that's the ribs of an old building that fell into disrepair and collapsed - enough to provide a bit of cover, but doesn't block line of sight completely, and from a modelling point of view gives an opportunity make trees poking through the remnants of window frames.

Yay the BBB is back. This is my absolute favorite of all the builds you have done.
Some kind of traditional religious structure.
    A well.
A firepit with a pig on a stick.
    Some small huts.
    A flagpole. (with a flag)
An animal enclosure. (Dressed up with some livestock)
    A guard tower.
And once you get to making water features you gotta add in some fishing boats with nets and other fishing gear.

As for suggestions: a traditional shrine juxtaposing the obligatory mission post, a doctor’s hut, and for the fisherman’s hut a net drying out between a couple of posts (blocks movement, but neither LOS or fire).

It is good to see you back Mel. This video said it was about converting your MDF kit when in fact it is not. This is about basing a kit. Since I was looking for inspiration on how to hide the marks left from the construction and especially how to make the roof if the kit look better I was disappointed. A better title for this video would be: "Basing your MDF terrain kits" Please consider making a video that does cover detailing and converting a MDF kit.🙂
