As someone who has worked with Swayne behind the scenes for months, I'm amazed at the ignorance of some folks on here that think these videos just happen haphazardly. So much coordination has gone on with the FAA and management to be sure that the procedures were in place to provide a safe, entertaining and educational view into a really unique and essential airline that serves the people of Hawaii. It's not like Swayne gets rich off of these videos, it's a labor of love for him, and all the contributors of online content. I applaud the efforts of Swayne, the FAA, and Mokulele. The dedication of all these participants has opened the door to what is traditionally a hard industry for folks to break into. I'm happy to read the countless comments of young and old alike, that are inspired by the efforts Swayne undertakes to produce this amazing content. His reward is knowing he is "paying forward" all the opportunities that aviation has provided him. Critique is fine, but contribution is much more powerful!
Congrats to you Swayne! Thanks for your awesome videos. As a 200 hour private pilot banging my head against the wall trying to finish the instrument rating, your journey reminds me that it is well worth it!
What sucks is that one must be an academic nerd having gotten B', A's etc and excel in math, science and physics. Then one must in most cases have a 4 yr degree to get to the majors but not the regionals. I just suck and choke when I take tests, testitis if you will and my memory from a book stand point is terrible.... My dream, never to be realized as it is far to expensive and standards ever more strict. Wish I could get a ECU reboot of my brain. I am too ADD :(... Blueskys young man.
I learned to fly in Hawaii in the late 70s. My first cross country with my instructor was along the north shore of Molokai. Thanks for bringing back some great memories. Jay Meinen 787 Captain
Congratulations on that gig. I've been a fan since you've started working on your private. To be quite honest, you were the primary reason I got into aviation. Recently started to work on my private. thanks man. keep up the good work. huge fan.
Nothing can replace human instincts. Commercial jets and the like already operate on autopilot most of the time and account for 80 percent of the flight. But that's just one facet of aviation
I legit want to work there. I just got back from a trip to Hawaii (first time leaving the continent) and I want to go back so bad. I'm only 16 but I think this is now my dream job.

Quick question could you please make a video on how you became a pilot because I am a 14yrs Boy here playing flight simulators and I need some advise. Like if you agree.
@@samueledwards3483 you might want to try X-Plane 11 which is pretty much the closest you will get to real flying, on a pc. That's what I do and I'm 13 and dream of becoming a pilot.
You're so young! How exciting! I have my first introduction flight soon I'm so nervous and excited I'm 18. I never been in a light aircraft before. Flying a 152
This is the type of airline flying that, IMHO, is outstanding. Flying at low altitudes, short hops with lot of take offs and landings. Those pilot seats don't look comfortable. Your ass would go dead under an hour. Great video and the music is great. Thanks.

Nice! Brings back some great memories flying 135 ops in Hawaii! Nothing like the Northern route around Molokai for spectacular views! Great video and sound quality as well!!
Thank you! I absolutely love it here. While I'm not making a ton of money initially, it is doable by living with friends. And I can't think of a better place to build experience and flight time. Our operations mirror many aspects of normal airlines, so it's a great way to get started.
You may not be making a ton of money right now, but you have a career ahead of you doing something you love, which means you may never have to work another day in your life! Congrats!
+Swayne Martin money would come later.... Enjoy it, have fun, and always learn something new.... I fly airbus for an airline in Mexico... I do not make lots of money but hey!!! Ive been given this opportunity and most of my flightime 90% is Airbus! Awesome views you have there!!! Have safe flights!
What's cool about this plane is that it only holds 9 people and the scenery on both sides are amazing not only on the left like island air. I love riding in these from Honolulu to the big island and back. I especially love it when we pass near Waikiki and see all the beautiful beaches
Great video. I think Mokulele will get great P-R out of this series of videos. Always love seeing Waimea-Kohala (MUE) airport since I have many memoties from there when I was much younger.
