My REAL Day - Airline Pilot, Hawaii
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 бер 2018
- (Filmed In Coordination With Airline Management And The FAA)... When you fly 8 legs a day and only have 5 to 20 minutes between flights, things get busy FAST... So here's what a REAL day looks like in my shoes. Flying as a Part 135 pilot means many of the responsibilities that are shared by multiple crew members are shared by just two pilots. It's a fun, tiring job by the end of the day.

When you have a headset that costs more than your car...
lol I think their headsets r provided for them for free
That’s his own, $1000, personal headset. The Captain wears a David&Clark headset. If they were company issued they would both have the same brand headset. A lot healthier this way. You don’t want to be wearing a sweaty, stinky, community headset.😬
Kid can buy an A20, but not the car. Guess folks covered that head set and maybe even his flight time.
Sasha the headset is an investment though. Since it will last a lifetime, and having a good headset is good for the ears, so albeit expensive, it’s still good value for a pilot in the long run
@@sasha-01 I believe he values the comfort of the headset more than the car. Especially because aviation is his passion.
It gets you from A to B.... until it blows up
Then it scatters itself BETWEEN A and B ;)
if you're lucky you can even get to C
No other industry would "get away" without paying for your time from the moment you start working for them. To only pay pilots for "flight time" should be addressed by not only the Department of Labor but Congress.
UR HIRED HR it leads to rushing and cutting corners to get going and getting paid. Not getting paid even a little something for commuting or deadheading is bs too.
Pretty sure truckers don't have to spend like 75-120k on training thou
@@MrMinefeld 35K In Alabama to get your commercial. That 75-100K is for helios.
If they are being paid hourly, then yes it's a labor violation and they would probably have a strong case to sue the airline. Problem is, it would probably get them blacklisted from flying commercially ever again. If they are salaried, it's a different story.
UR HIRED HR they have unions who negotiate their rates and airlines pay pilots a minimum number of hours monthly, and more if they go over that amount of hours
“The windows work... sometimes” 😂 I respect you for sharing this! You still manage to make a hectic day look f*cking awesome!
Thank you so much!! That's exactly what I was going for in the video. It's an awesome job, but it has downsides of course!
No job is perfect but it’s all about making the best out of it!! You surely seem to do a great job at that!
Siang,....Abang,KakakLisa,Martin????Mh.🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
It's a good thing your car doesn't fly. :)
Kinda scary
If It explodes with enough force It could fly
You are a great motivator for many future pilots
Thank you! So glad you've been enjoying the videos
@Greg Kyle lol nice
BigNooshGaming probably some sort of radar
So great you already have this amazing skill so early in life...great job!!!!!
Greg Kyle it’s just like most high paying jobs u start making very little then make more and more until ur making a quarter a million a year
Dude! Who cares about the car! You are living your dream🛩!! Respect from Japan👍
The car could also end his dreams if he's not careful
Exactly. If you love what you do for a living, you never really work.
Oo japani you know english 😆😆😆😆
@@helpmeHitsubsbeforeAugust Oo Indian you know english 😂😂😂😂
This guy probably makes more money from UA-cam than being pilot
Nah he probably makes same money or they're really similar.
Oh hell no, he barely makes ANY money from UA-cam, and you make about 100k a year from being a airline pilot
@@beze3361 Not as a first officer, its way less than that
HoustonFriend Actually it’s the same so yeah
Beze it’s really not
Thank you so much for the amazing videos you make! You're so inspiring for so many people (including myself) and I'm genuinely so happy that you do this. You're informational as well as interesting, and I can't get enough of your channel.
Love from Boston!
Amazing views at the end. Thanks for sharing man!
*love these type of videos, so real, and yours was really interesting to watch!*
Thank you for this, I really enjoyed seeing this "behind the scenes" view. Your videos are always great.
Glad to see you back on-the-tube! Flying is an absolute passion and you're a true inspiration.
Swayne, I think this video is invaluable! Thanks for making it! Always great to see the "slugging it out" part of a great flying gig along with the beautiful views!
Wow, you can truly say you are in a thankless job. I appreciate this video very much. Thank you for sharing this.
Congratulations on this next step in your journey of being a pilot swayne! I'm a CAP cadet and I just had my first of flight in the 172 and looking into going to the civil air patrol powered flight academy to further myself in aviation, and your videos have been a big inspiration on not only being able to do the job, but also showing many veiwers like me how great aviation is! Good luck to you!
Thanks , clearly hard work! Thanks for taking time to do the vid!
Awesome! Ty! You have the best job and the best office in the world! Flight safe!
Man, this video made me smile. Brought back memories of my early days. Especially your jalopy airport car!
Enjoy these days while you can. In no time flat you’ll be at a legacy carrier no doubt, doing 1-3 legs a day, watching your love of aviation slowly transform into just another job.
Still a great job and none I’d rather do, but just another job...
Good work kid. You’ll go far indeed!
Keep up the amazing content love your videos your actually living in paradise with the best job in the world
You're awesome. Working on my CPL multi engine. You're motivating me to work harder especially when I have to study for my written test.✈✈✈✈ Aviators always motivate each other.✈✈✈✈
As always, simply brilliant! You are the best!
You are one of the more well versed youtubers out there. Love your content and your ability to chase your dreams. I am a student pilot and you are a great source for real- life information
Love all the hard work and effort you put towards your videos Swayne! Keep em up :)
Another great video bro! Definitely awesome to have you back on UA-cam with your crazy work schedule.
Awesome video!!! Keep up the great work and keep uploading videos! We love it
I love the scenery in Hawaii - one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Great Video!!!
May you always have safe flights and happy landings!
Thanks for sharing the experience. Really appreciate it mate👌
Swayne, very insightful video showing the down and dirty. Appreciate the detailed listing of all the duties you have pull off to do a turnaround. At one time, I was an ATO aboard an aircraft carrier. Imagine deplaning a bunch of pax and then trying to corral them on the flight deck with jets spooling and props spinning all around. It was hard work, but still one of the best jobs I ever had.
Another great video. Good to see you again.
What an eye-opening video! Thanks for the great content as always :)
I love your videos, very interesting, nice effects, lovely music! keep going and safe flights !
I know the guy at 7:33! I saw him at Daytona Beach in 2016. He had a yellow plane! Nice to see him in Mokulele
Yesss I know him too. He is also on @LewDix Aviation channel.
Great video. I really like you showing the real side to things. Most videos only focus on the cool parts to being a pilot
Nice to share the REAL day. Is not always fun it requires work. Well done!
Great stuff as always Mr. Martin
Interesting video. I wish you and the persons around you allways good flights and happy landings.
Greetings from Germany.
Your videos are so inspiring and amazing, keep like that!
Love the videos and congrats on the United opportunity.
Yay! Welcome back Swayne!
Great vid. The scenery is amazing.
Good to see you again keep it going
I will do my PPL flight test on wednesday and this video really empowers my will to pass it and start my pilot adventure !
I’ve Flown w/ya’ll and I appreciated the professionalism due to the close quarters.
Great Videoooo. Loving it
Love your videos keep them coming.
I gotta say man, this video is the best of all. keep it up
This was great! Thanks for another cool vid
Loved your video. The Cessna Caravan is like the Sherpa of the skies. It just goes and goes. I love airplanes and most of the culture of flight. I should have been a flight mechanic but I was stupid,
and the story too long. May your flights be free of turbulence and soft landings always. Thanks for your video here.
Awesome video! So cool and inspiring! 👍👍👍✈️✈️✈️
great video Swayne loved it
Very good demo on the flights that you make and enjoy! Aloha
Dude that is Hellla Awesome..
Awesome this is great !!! Keep it up!!
To visit Hawaii would be one thing, but to live and work there is even better. Glad you are living your dream. Have fun and be safe.
Great video Martin thank you 👍
Awesome video mate... insightful :) greetings from Oz!
What a comfortable video!
Thanks for your great videos Swayne, I think I’ve seen pretty much all of your videos, from your beginning flying small single engine props like the Cessna 172. It’s great inspiration for us who want to become airline pilots! It’s a hard path but totally worth it. I migrated to the US just a few years ago and it hasn’t been easy to afford flying, but I’m finally working on my IFR rating, and your videos help me stay motivated to achieve this goal! Keep the great work. 👍
Good to see you back Swayne! Awesome informative video! Hope your car will hold out for a while yet! Always happy, friendly skies flying! Mark in Iowa.
looking at your video it makes me think why i did not think of this job after college i wonder...or even during college.....I am glad that you are doing it...
Swayne, another great perspective keep up the great work. Oh, awesome car!!!
magnificent journey
Great to have you back! 😎🏁
outstanding Swayne...being young but rather very disciplined will give you a solid start in your commercial airliner career...keep up that great job and great video by the way!
Really cool video & really cool job , enjoy !!!
Love your videos! God Bless you.
hello my friend, I've been a first officer of C208 for almost 3 years, doing exactly this same job. I wonder how you could film all the parts and steps of your flight, that was completely impressive! There are so many tasks to do and you did very well! Congratulation for your work and thank you for bringing us all the details of being a Grand Caravan first officer.
Awesome job❤️
What an excellent video 😊
Really enjoyed this one. Thanks :)
I come across your posting by accident BUT I must say young man, I am impressed. You must have had wonderful parents or someone of equal value that pointed you in the right direction. For you to have your pilot license and go one to get your instrument rating and now to be a first officer even on a small airline is ONE BIG feather in your cap. I will be adding you to my following list. As an American of 76 years, I see too many young people that have no direction in their life. Keep on doing what you are doing and make us proud of you. God bless you in everything you decide to do.
1:30 Gets you from A to B.... and then.... eventually back to A.
My first car was the same - I was a wizard with a screwdriver and a flashlight in the dark!
Nicely done!
seems like a good guy. all the best on your way up the !
Great video Swayne as tiring as it might be you are flying in paradise.
Welcome back Swayne!
Nice video! Boldmethod rocks - keep up the good stuff!
The caravan lives up to its a name! Literally a caravan of the skies!
Informative and fun. Nice car!
Brilliant video
And he is back
Cool video man! Stay safe and hopefully see you in Hawaii one day.
Nicely produced video. Very interesting
A bit of reality is also good sometimes, clearly by your face you had better days! Keep up with the dream!
Great videos!
Your videos are excellent!
You made me fall in love with aviation all over again.
And... He's back!!
Great video mate!
The best airport courtesy car I've ever had was in Auburn, Alabama. A late 1980's vintage Cutless Classic with no hub caps and about 8 tones of blue paint at various places on the car.
Amazing video man, subbed
Awesome video, nice!
Eh Bruddah Swayne! Looking good in da aina! Love the videos man!
Finally been waiting for a vlog lol.
nice video well done keep up the good work first officer swayne martin a+
Awesome videos...god bless you
awesome b-roll! and thank you for showing what being a commercial pilot is really like. I've been thinking about leaving corporate life to follow my dream of flying for a career!
