    Really looks classy. Saddle soap is what I use on leather. Gets it smooth and supple. It seems to work well. I don't know about the steaming? Before steaming give a shout out to your supplier and see what they recommend. And you consider $400 pricey? That back bench looks at least a $1000 worth of leather and labor! Great job! Beautiful baby!

    I also bought front & rear leather for my 850R Estate from LSeat & was equally impressed. They will make custom replicas for any vehicle I believe if you send them your old covers, but obviously that will take longer. As of Aug 2023, the price is still $349 for 2 front Volvo seats & $349 for the rear, plus shipping.
    I’m in the US & They took about 3 weeks from order date to receipt (they offered 850R seat covers on their site). Note, for 850R seat covers, even though they are pictured with the alcantara, you have to select the “two tone” option for the alcantara inserts, which adds another $25 (?).

    Great video and nice guide to doing this. Think a nice steamer will sort those last bits I had issues with a seat years back it sorted it nicely. Can’t wait to see the interior all buttoned up.

      Looks like steam is the way to go! We'll give it a go...hopefully they will have relaxed in to position a bit more to get the last bit of tension. It's getting so close to being done it's torture lol

    Hi guys, I would be cautious using steam! water and leather are not good bedfellows! can cause long term damage however on stuborn creases remember to whipe or dab with towel. there are loads of leather conditioning products, Personally I would try that first leave overnight then re-tention rings! looking a million dollers your gonna have one super Volvo to be proud of!.....all the best...and I really like the sleeper mean look front!

    The zip ties are put to great use here, they'll be so easy to remove, whilst assisting greatly in the re tensioning stage. Also, great choice of seat covers, just Volvoluptuous.

    Also treat the leather with leather grease, then it will also become a bit more flexible.
    I always use the ty-rap method when I replace seat covers, I didn't know such nice pliers existed.

    Hey, some great work on this channel. Not long found it but I've watched most of the Volvo content. Awesome car. Just bought myself a 240 wagon so all this is really helpful. Good to hear a Welsh accent too being from Abergavenny myself.
    But I was wondering if you had a link for the company that supplies the seat covers you used here?
    Cheers

      Laura fell in love with the travellers after seeing one at a car show we were at many years ago. The lovely owner let her have a look around it and he had some funny touches like plastic fish in the glass washer bottle. She thought the wood frame was amazing and just decided there and then that she would own one. If you have a look at our playlists you'll see the start of the series of begining Laura's very own traveller. Hopefully it will be finished in time for her driving test! Thanks for watching!

    Hi got over spray on car after garage painted side of car didn't bag up properly any suggestions on how to get rid of spray please

    • @WhitelandRestorations
      @WhitelandRestorations  Рік тому

      Hi, give the car a going over with a clay mitt or clay bar. It will help remove the contamination. This is what we use amzn.to/3xXqGZe. If that doesn't help you'll have to be more aggressive and compound the car

    • @WhitelandRestorations
      @WhitelandRestorations  Рік тому

      You can buy a quick detailing spray but we just use a few drops of fairy liquid in a spray bottle. Make sure you wax the car after as the claybar and soap will remove all.
