As I get older and have had a major surgery, I lack strength I used to have. Tire plugs are more difficult for me to push in now, so this would be a nice alternative. I definitely wouldn't mind using this.
I had one of those many years ago. It had more than just the one size nipple and plugs. It was old when I got it from a guy who retired. I didn't have much luck with it. I felt that it did more damage than good. Patching from the inside is always a better solution.

I work in a shop and while all we really do at the shop for tire repair is patch. I've never taken the time to patch one of my personal tires plugs work just as good, not to mention I've seen patches fail
Cool concept. However I'm inclined to believe that the metal tip that punctures through the tire to allow for the plug, will remain until the tire is removed. Could that be why the United States no longer uses them, causing interior tire wear?

A patch is much better than using a plug. A plug can damage the belts. I see this happened numerous times. After the belt is broke, you cannot balance the tire. Therefore, your tire is ruined and you have to buy a new one.
What happened to the black tip that was placed in the end? It didn’t look like he attached it by screwing it on? What prevents the tip from falling off inside of the tire?
It's a little tiny piece of rubber. Probably similar to composition of tire itself. I highly doubt it will hurt anything. Or at least before the tire is well worn down and in need of replacement.
I'm a diesel mechanic we put rubber and plastic beads hundreds inside tires to balance them works great don't tear tire up at all so dont worry and as tire wears it needs different weight to balance the beads are lots better then rim weights
Or just go to Discount Tire, who will remove the tire, patch it like the manufacturer recommends, reinstall the tire on the rim, balance it and put it back on the car, all for free.
Ngl I used this for like 3 months my uncle bought it he loved it cause he would take his sweet ass time to patch a tire shyt im old fashion plug and go not gonna lie I threw that gun looking thing away and kept it old school😂😂😂 he flabbergasted when he couldn’t find it 😅
Looks like it works great but in a mechanic shop when you have to do all four tires in under two minutes a patch job like this would not work it would take too long
This should be illegal. Pushing the plug into the hole breaks the fibers that hold the tire together. This might be OK for a farmer or rancher that never puts the damaged tire on a roadway. It will blowout eventually and put the vehicle driver and all traffic in the area at risk.

If there is no vulcanizing agent involved, all you've done is introduce a potential slow leak and a future catastrophic failure.
It may worth a try. I’d put a rope style plug in it. To me, better than a patch. Patch works great too but not 100% of times either.
That looks like the most expensive way it could possibly be done
