@@oliver-04 But it shouldn't be hard to give award winners more than 30 seconds to give their thanks. The pacing issue was due to a surplus of advertisements instead of actual awards and speeches

Honestly after doing everything in Alan Wake 1, Control, and Alan Wake 2 the story was pretty easy to follow in that weird Remedy way.
Once you understand how Remedy writes their games they’re fun to figure out and dissect

I love Control’s story, and I did basically everything in that game, including beating the extraction raid mode.
I find their storytelling as deep as a puddle. AW1 and AW2 are pretty awful games imo. They should've just made some movies instead.
Yeah, after playing Control (and having played Alan Wake 1 back when), I feel like I’m moving at the same speed as Alan Wake 2 at this point.

@@Kris-wo4pj Honestly Starfield is 3 month post launch player retention rate is equal to Elden Ring. It's holding its players well, especially considering its had no really major patch yet. People can trash talk on the internet all they want, but End of the Day the industry cares much more about Data/Metrics than anything else. People say all sorts of things, but its what they DO that matters.
@@Ralathar44lmao just looked it up on SteamDB, it went from 330k players at release to 13k players right now. It's totally tanked. Elden Ring's lowest count is in the mid-30k range, and BG3 has never dropped below 100k since release.

Personally, my favorite game of the year (that wasn't Baldur's Gate 3) is Armored Core 6!
3:04 YOOOOOO LEGEND OF DRAGOON! That’s actually my guilty pleasure of the year! I got introduced to it not too long ago and have quickly fallen in love with it! It’s got such a unique charm that I both love it, ironically and unironically. If I had to put it on a frame of reference, I would say it’s sort of like the dark crystal of video games, not because it’s merely just set in a medieval times/fantasy setting but mainly because it’s just so awkward, aged and weird, yet has this unique, special charm that is alluring.
The overall barebones plot is really good, classic anyways. They put a weird japanese spin on it but you know, that's JRPGs for you lol. I really loved Radiata Story and Infinite Undiscovery for that classic fairy tail vibe too.
YES!!! Thank you for mentioning the System Shock Remake. That was my absolute favorite game this year and no one at the Game Awards gave it a single mention. So thank you for that. :)

- New Ability/Equipment Award is definitely an amazing award section, would love to see that for the previous years, and the next ones as well. Would love to see the nominees to give credit to game devs where credits due.

My personal biggest upset was how Cyberpunk’s one and only DLC won them the Best Ongoing Game award
Well, that and their ongoing efforts to make a broken game into a less-broken game.
@@adams3627 Bro... No. Just No. Cyberpunk 2077 is the one of the best game I played this year with the 2.1 and Phantom Liberty. I love this game. But fixing unfinished game should not be awarded. Game supposed the be complete when it's purchased and fixing the game is something dev team supposed to do. It should not be normalized.
@@hododod246the problem is not the DLC being fantastic. It was apparently counted as an ongoing game just because it had DLC this year which is a flimsy excuse. With that you can say RE4 Remake is an ongoing game because it had Separate Ways.

Legend of Dragoon!!! I’ve wished a sequel would be made for ages, just seeing even a clip of the game puts a smile on my face, great choice for an underrated game clip !
Haven't seen much forspoken content as I am behind on your videos but that clip with the real-time drink pouring dead-eyed bartender also trapped in purgatory with you experience was so funny I cried a bit while laughing. I assume the experience is made long enough to allow you to pour yourself another drink IRL while playing. Great video to end the year!

I think the concept of a magic based FPS has a lot of potential. I just didn't particularly enjoy the execution. It's better than the new CoD though, so that's not nothing.

For a game that reviewed well it is pretty mid. I had a decent time with the story but there's so much garbage filler content and outside of Sebastian there wasn't a single compelling story.
The combat is pretty good but I was done with it by the end of the main story.
Star wars jedi survivor was my game of the year

The reason it took so long for Starfield to come out is because the devs had to watch all the loading screens and sitting up and sitting down when they were play testing

i cannot believe how many people dumped money into preorders despite game pass being practically free
I'm pretty sure this is a big deciding factor in how people feel about Starfield: did you go out of your way to buy it, or did you happen to have access to it through Game Pass. I bought it through Game Pass, so I never really experienced "buyer's remorse", nor did I feel the need to force myself to play it to try to get my "money's worth". I played it for a while and had fun, and then I stopped playing it once I started to get bored.
