So many people don't know you can put an allen wrench in the tip of the top bolt to hold it still while you tighten the nut. I didn't notice it until after fighting the first shock and picking up the second one, so now I'm on a mission from God to spread the good word lol

I could not for the life of me get the 5mm wrench on top of the Bilsteins. I cut the length and bent the long end a bit on two different wrenches to try and get it right... just wouldn't seat. Ended up with the wrong tool for every job (vice-grips) like Cliff did :). Turns out there was a bunch of crap in the recessed area. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just ordered the Bilstein B6 4600 front and rear shocks. I can’t believe a reputable company like them doesn’t simply weld a nut to the piston rod.

Thanks for the video and your methods, I put on the 4600’s and added a 1 inch spacer under top of fro t coils, leveled out perfectly 2012 wrangler

Folks, to keep the piston shaft from spinning while tightening up the top nut on your shocks, use a 5mm allen wrench on the top of the rod end to hold the rod from spinning while you tighten the nut down. I had to go to Harbor Freight to find metric allen wrenches with a short enough shaft to fit up in the tight space.

Thanks for the video. I also will be doing this job on my 2016 JK this weekend. Others have even done this without taking the wheels off. I will try that first.

You actually have the washers upside down from the instructions.

I agree, I looked long and Hard at the instructions.... The way you install the washers is the Opposite to what Cliff did. I know it really against what you would think. The other thing is, allot of people say you can get an allen wrench on the top of the shock, But our Jeep JK's there is NO WAY to get a wrench up there without taking other things out.

I cut out some of the bottom of the battery box to get my fingers up in there.

Good ride quality. Feels pretty stock-ish to me.
