Nice contents about food.. tq sonny😁🇺🇸🥊
Who even watches tv these days?
Your new macro closeup guy needs a raise. These shots are money!
Aren't you getting diarrhea to eat raw crab alive?
Sonny Not an exaggeration but this channel's production qualities are seriously hitting TV standards🇧🇸❤️❤️
TV standards indeed.
I'd say they're surpassing it.
This is OFN and he already had his own show.
Much better then tv
For sure
It ain't just a statement it's facts when you say this is truly the best ever food review show❤

Found this channel around April 2020. I wasn't really affected by the lock-downs, but the world was changing and this show was a welcomed distraction. Years later, he's on St. Rogies podcast scaring him with mad honey. Thanks Sonny, aka Baby Bourdain, you're one of the dawgz for sure.
Just two Minnesota boys, hanging out eating ant eggs in the jungle. More with Yia, please!! ❤️❤️
I love Yia's descriptions of things 🎉

Chef Yia is one my new favorite hosts next to the Japan series with Shizuka. They both have such a charismatic presence that just adds so much more presence to the shows💕

Sonny was totally banging Shizuka tho hahaha
Sonny, this channel's production quality rivals TV standards. It's not an exaggeration to call it the best ever food review show. Chef Yia and Shizuka add charismatic presence that enhances the content. I'll support this channel for life!
Chef Yia Is a Great Guest. I Hope You’ll Do more episodes with Him. His Smile is Uplifting Great episode Keep them coming.
I'm really loving this cohost. He could be a stand-in for Calvin anytime! I lived in rural Myanmar, and it was identical to this way of life. It's a wonderful reminder that less in more when you see how much happier the people in these villages are.
The co host is not even lao.smh that's soo disrespectful to lao folks this was a very disrespectful vid
The Co Host Doesn't fit the show at all. Sure he is a nice gentlemen however he just doesn't vibe with this.

I was in northern Laos three months ago. The people there are amazing. The landscape is amazing. The food there is amazing. They have the best beer in SE Asia. I will definitely be returning to Laos as often as possible.

The most honest answer ever instead of giving a weird-ass excuse of why they eat that way she just kept it 💯 and said "it's fun"
All I can think about is the local villagers laughing about how they get to trick tourists to come and eat live food knowing that they don’t do that themselves.
Sonny living the life, engaging in different cultures trying new stuff all the time. I’m jealous! But lowkey it gives me relax vibes and opens my mind and just inspiration. All good vibes and wish you nothing but the best 💪🏼
I’ve seen Sonny eat just about everything there is to eat this earth can provide but I’ve never seen him react the way he did when he put that second crab in his mouth! Clearly that was a unique experience!
Sonny , I’ve always thought of myself as a very brave eater. But you man are showing me things that would really challenge my mind to put in my mouth! 😂 love it and never stop describing it the way u do! Those guests u have are some of the bravest folks I’ve ever seen lol ❤❤❤
I think this is setting the bar higher than any standard tv network as well. Incredible work as always Sonny! 💯 🙌🏼
Im from Thailand but I live in Germany since I was 2 or 3 years old and my family is actually from the northern Thailand and this video is so wholesome to me because it reminds me of my village

Hey Sonny it is true, the Lao diaspora community has learned to bring their culture along with them. As a Lao American, it is ironic that I would like to visit the country my grandparents had fled. Like Yia said, hearing about the homeland from older generations had always sparked a curiosity in me as well. It's refreshing to see Lao culture being put in the limelight.
Stop letting hmoung people speak up for us real lao people that's some clown stuff
@@CYRUSTHEVIRUS.Let the Chinese speak for real laos people. Used the Chinese yuan, uses your useless kip to wipe your ass after eating padest. Spray your legs to get the yuan. Lol. Stop using hmoung people to speak for lao people that's disrespectful af
Nah hes so pretentious. He doesn't realize how privileged he is. I live in Michigan and know plenty of families that rely on hunting to survive and pay bills. He needs to educate himself and stop living in a liberal city bubble. I love seeing him realize he has nothing in common with real Laotian people.

Really enjoyed the last few episodes of Northern Laos. I cross the boarder from Vietnam into Laos many years ago and through the travels we saw the untouched villages, their kids hanging around and their stilt homes. They are such warm and friendly people. I love how they still live, living off the land. Simple and hassle free. They eat what they have & don’t ask for much. That’s why you see they don’t have modern illness like depression or diabetes etc. They are happy with their life. Their kids are always outdoors playing and contributing to the family chores. Wanna see more of their foods. I’ll try everything except bat and bile. 😍😍😍😍.
So true what you said. Eating organic food not being exposed to chemicals and all the outdoor activities are probably the reasons why they live to be 90-100+ years old.
Ant eggs are one of my favorites. When I was in the Philippines, my grandma would sauté them in garlic, onion, and tomatoes. The live shrimp dish is called jumping salad in the Philippines.
Same people same foods.
Isn't it dangerous to eat raw shrimp and crab?
Oro is somewhere watching this and saying "thank goodness he didn't call me for this trip" 😂
🇱🇦🇱🇦❤❤ Thank you Sonny and Chef Yia. MN ❤
Fun fact. They talked about something feeling like sand while eating the algae, and that’s because algae does turn into sand after a few days of being dried. 💡 also, has been loving this channel for years and still can’t believe it’s not on TV yet.
Chef Yia and your chemistry is awesome! More adventures together!
This is why I go back to laos every year, to experience different kinds of food that we can't have here in the United States. Great work love watching your show
Good for you Mr. Kahn.
You obviously don't go out alot in the US. There's all kinds of rare dishes especially in china town, tokyo town...etc. Go out and explore.
You ain't gotta go to Laos, poor country folk done been eating everything that moves for hundreds of years here in the U.S. Crawfish, fish, possum, squirrel, rabbit, deer, racoon, you name it, they eat it. I've known some seriously poor people over the span of my lifetime, and turns out you'll eat pretty much anything when you have no other choice.
couple mad yanks here lmao. Laos is a great place im sure people dont go there just for there food... you know there are other countries other than the usa...wow!
@@interstellarartois5902 There’s other country other than USA, yes, but USA is the very best. We got people from ALL over the world giving us their cultures and bringing in a little bit of their traditions. That’s why this is the best country. Not to mention how amazing this country is in looks and sights
I hope those rivers are clean! Thanks for bringing up countries we never hear about to the limelight, it gives us so much to be grateful for!
It probably is, diverse creatures cant live on toxic water
Here in the states, we do the papaya and crab too, but we mash them in with the papaya after opening em. I dont personally eat the crab, its mostly used for flavor as well.
With limited time we have for these videos, your exceptional channel includes culture, emotions, interesting views and incredibly curious tasting foods. It’s worth our time watching! Thanks! ❤

These ants are called Chapda in Bastar Chhattisgarh India they have many medicinal properties. The tribals here would let these ants bite them in order to be healthy. Here we make a paste(chutney) of it using garlic, green chillies, tomatoes and salt. It tastes heavenly ❤
Sonny having flashbacks of Myanmar with the ant eggs.
“Dude calm down”
Crab: BRO LET ME GO!!!🦀🦀🦀
Sonny doubting that live crab salad is a new for me. Dude has eaten a fish salad the fish literally still swimming on a bowl, live shrimp salad, and raw blood cockles. I'm not sure if he's doing it for the show but that's kinda funny for me😂
Deep in there He still cares for the animals, so I'm pretty sure the hesitation is real. The humanity is real lol XD
It's because raw crabs can put you in the hospital
Yes he was doing for the show, fresh water crabs contain a lot of parasites (worms, leeches v.v.v.) may put your body in danger. Pretty sure he has to swallow a lot of pills after scene.
The thought of stepping in that murky water terrifies me!! These are some brave brave folks!!! If I were to step in there, the biggest snake on the planet would get me immediately 😂!!! I love this channel so much!!!!
I like Yia. He really experienced his culture.
I honestly watch your videos more for your commentary than the actual foods you show us. Hilarious. Love it.
Like I once said Sonny, us peasants are so enlightened by your uploads and are so grateful. Thank you. Greetings from Cyprus. 👍👍❤❤
I love watching Sonny and his adventures. Keep sharing your wonderful food experiences!
Coming back to this channel after a while of other content, and it amazes me even more to see the culture and quality in these videos.
Really feels like Yia is connecting with his roots because every time they describe something like bitter or whatever, he says how much he likes it because of the varying flavor profile and texture
