Are those the Dame 7’s on your feet?

"I'm short and I get blocked all the time"... Couple things that can help: #1. Attack the defender, drive into their chest, make contact with them and use the side finish. If you shy away and leave space they'll block your shot w/o fouling you most every time. #2 Depending on the situation..again create contact with the shot blocker....strongly hold onto to the ball with both hands and keep pushing up with the ball...then fall down and groan. Referees call fouls the majority of the time if you get good at selling it. Again, unlikely to happen if there is space between you and the defender. #3 Use the rim to your advantage....go to the other side and shoot reverse layups with your off hand. If they are tall and in attempting to block your shot they hit the net....the ref will call goal tending, especially if you point it out. #4 Get really good at high arcing floaters from 5, 7, 8 feet...on the side see if using the glass is easier. #5 Work it out with a teammate to expect lob passes from you before you get to the coiled shot blocker or get good at dropping it off to your teammate. #6 Very effective to go baseline across the lane with defender chasing and drop it off to a preferably taller teammate.
Don't let short handicap you. There are ways to become a major pest and make it an advantage. Watch NBA highlights and see what the "smaller" guards do there. It's all relative.
Have fun! Change your best each day!
Thanks man, God bless you
great tips here
I'm this kind of Mom.... thank you!😊
I’m a professional at coast to coast layup bricks lol I needed this

@@lilmeen0429 Yeah I missed 3 open layups in a scrimmage the other day... Smh

Man I remember watching this channel all the time when I still had hoop dreams I realized I was behind I put it the work to catch up but I ended up switching to football as my main sport I still have so much love for the game y’all boys keep grinding make it somewhere for me
i gotchu brother
ayyy love that man! Let's go! Appreciate the comment Jayden!
Bet
If you end up switching means you weren't any good at the first one anyways
@@p41n8 coming back to this comment currently a d1 football player and I was pretty decent when I played 🤔 I just had more potential in football doesn’t mean I was bad at basketball but I love both sports and someone is paying for my school right now all glory to god
This is really advanced stuff. Love it!!
You're absolutely the best coach i have ever seen. You helped me alot in finishing and shooting

Let's get it Neev!
Thank you for this
Hey coach I've been watching your vids lately and I have a comprehensive problem because I have Attention Deficit Disorder but I still try, like that one dribble workout video where you dribble the ball in between your legs but you also had to touch the wall at the same time, I struggled to even dribble the ball to my other hand while trying to touch the wall fast with my hands, but nice videos though, your the only trainer I can rely on because, bro u helped improve flight and flight was baddddd!!!!
It helps like every tutorial from you. We love you from germany
Thanks for the vid it helped me a lot
dope vid good practice to finish strong I love it frfr
Dope asf thanks G
I practice shooting, but not much on driving and layups. needed this
HUGE part of your game, this will help Kris!
Amazing
Thanks!
Finally I Love Basketball TV is spending time with me dropping them bangers
thx a lot, after good handling right now I need certain layups
"You must be able to use both hands at the rim" laughs in Allen Iverson
Lol AI could bang on people
Can someone explain this?
@@silasopawoye2721 AI never really shot layups with his left hand
Goran Dragic never uses his right hand for finishes
@@GrayMinemanLOL does that mean he cant make left handed lay up still?
Thanks coach! Super useful for me.
Fantastic video
Thank you so much this is really helpfull❤❤
So glad to hear it!
RECAP 1. Layup Finishes: overhand, underhand, side (aka extendo), inside-hand sneak 2. Finishing Holds: High hold, running back tuck, side tuck, extended hold, low hold, pass fake (into aforementioned holds) Mix and match these while practicing finishing with both right and left and focusing on touch, then you're a beast. Add these to great footwork and you're unstoppable - at least in the paint :)
Question if I do the side tuck will it be a travel?
@@kingkajo5387 Hey they're all the same as a regular layup in regards to footwork. your hand placement is just different. Just remember that once you pick up the ball (if you're in college and below) you have 2 steps after in any direction or can jump stop and finish!
Thanks
Spinning your wrist (thumb or pinkie inwards) is a huge key! All my life I have spinning the ball backwards like fingeroll.
thank you
as the big, this was needed
Just a gentle reminder to delete this off your watch history
lol nothing to be ashamed of!

cool. Thank you
great crash course. i've never had an issue finishing until now (i think it's because my body has had some nagging tweaks) my 2nd year as a pro. Bad timing , but def gonna get back to basics with this. thank you
I've got a basketball team that I follow in a local University in Kansas and the girls and the guys mostly the girls miss most their layouts because they don't practice them and it's not second nature to them but you show me some stuff here about technique which they work on technique of shooting threes layup I mean free throws they hardly ever miss a three-throw they probably won't the boys and the girls are probably have got the highest percentage in the country but how do I share this with the coach without him cutting my throat
@@paulflorquist5690 are you a parent?
helps my workout on layups nice
This helped me approved in basketball thank u❤
Thanks fam
Bro your videos are so good! I've been getting better and better watching these! Thanks man

Thank you:))
I swear this like learning a martial art. It's just soo impressive
I have my 14 yr old daughter watching this and ALL your videos. She just started playing recently
hey ilovebasketballtv great vid.
Any tips for taking those two steps after you pickup the ball. It just feels soo weird, like I don't know which to lift off of
I really need to work on my left in general and my underhand layup
Thanks. God's love and blessings!!!
Love the tips….I can make the hard step back 3 with defenders on me..but I’ll smoke the layups…..trying to get my drive game and dribble game better
Best vid ever
Yeah this will improve my layup
I needed this practicing it right now at the park thx coach
Awesome! Let's go!
I want to practice in the park but all of the courts are always full what should I do?
@@mccrock2820 buy a basketball hoop and put it out side your house or backyard.
@@mccrock2820 get there earlier
Damn the pinky and thumb twist low key a gem
I most definitely use this💪🏿. My question, is it possible to use coming off 2 feet? because I can do both With the left and right. I guess it’s the point of using these finishes to come off 2 feet
There’ll be times that I use the overhand coming off 2 foot, unless I’m not bringing the ball back down then it would be a good finish
Yes you can for sure!
Great video brother ✊🏽 can you make a video for younger people to get there footwork for left and right handed layup finish and make it simple
Totally!
@@ILB awesome my brother appreciate it. My son always looks at your videos all the time . From it he has gained so much knowledge and I have also benefited from them as well. Keep up the great work ✊🏽
I needed this I am really explosive and always get by my defender and I always miss the wide layup to the point where they just let me blow by them because my shot is automatic but I Brick every damn layup
Thank u sir!! Remember Chase Dolo!!
I needed this, the other day I went 3/4 3s and 1/3 layups smh
Aye ty bc my touch around the rim is terrible 😞
great
U forgot some up and under finishes where you change the layup in the air and read the shot blocker
Didn't forget, that's more advanced than what we wanted this video to cover.
Okay michael jordan
Nice video Guys You are The Best Keep Going ! ❤💚💜💖🌌🔥🔥👏👏🍬🍬💕✅🤗
when do I use inside sneak? seems like it could be easy to block if not used in the right circumstances?
the best layup video ever....
I really need this video, my uncle told me I'm good at defense but i can't even do a simple lay up even an open layup😅
I really needed this, I have a game today 😁

Let's go!
I’m happy I’m not alone 😅
That is one of the most frustrating things especially when they rim-out 😢😵💫
the video I needed cause the coach made us do 10 pushups for each missed layup
Weather warm in DC finally
YESSS
GOD bless💕🙏🏾
hey coach how to do i get more power and arch on my shot?
Check out some of our Shooting videos under our shooting playlist
First time I ever saw the tuck was from Derrick Rose. I still this it’s the coolest finish.
How do I finish over a taller defender when they help the right way?
Nice
Thanks fam
Please please pleaaaaaase make a video on how to get that unstoppable giannis spin move and that euro step IM BEGGING U (if u don’t make giannis can you make Kawhi Leonard defense)
I wish I could train with Ryan razooky ☹️
You can train with him weekly online at ilbelite.com
strong miss layups are always my problem.. on fast breaks & strong drives
Champ MR' Rain
I'd go 4/5 on 3pt, but when it comes down to layups, I end up throwing it up there maniacally
Def can happen. I think one of the reasons basketball is such a cool game is because we all have different strengths and weaknesses to work on, ya know?
Good on you for recognizing/admitting where you need to put in the work! Props man.
