Thanks man, you’re the only UA-camr I know who focus on concepts and plays when it comes to offence, and not like most who says “do this ankle breaker combos”
This guy is ridiculous, how he's able to provide greater value than explaining it himself (like all the other youtubers) but from going through hours of film and showcasing the entire range of possibilities and mechanics across multiple in-game situations rather than touching upon them verbally (or vaguely). Great channel I was taken by surprise how useful it is.
Man, I really never comment. These are the best videos to learn basketball. The attention to detail, the cadence of the video, and the creativity to make it all work with just text and video playing at the right time. Unbelievable that it is free, too.
If you're able to shoot well, that will additionally create problems for the D. Being able to shoot will force them to decrease the space between you and them, thus giving you the opportunity to drive past them. If you shoot poorly, the D could drop back and simply take their chances with you making the bucket or not. If the D does manage to position themselves in front of you on a drive, don't be so intent on powering through as you might draw a charge. Instead, try hopping back into a shot or use that space to see which foot they put forward. If you can do a double hop back, even better. There's more space thus more ground they'll have to cover, and if you can shoot, they'll look to do that in a hurry. In turn, you now have the opportunity to pick a side on which to drive.
Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.s
Time stamps for practice 3:15 - Expect the handcheck and power through it 3:45 - defenders top foot and top foot hand getting ready to steal the ball. You keep the ball wide and out of their reach. Use your off hand 4:05 attack the defenders back when they turn too much 4:35 - master the art of attacking the top foot 4:54 attacking the back foot 5:19 good for when the defender opens up too much
This is a lovely breakdown. You're right when it comes to trainers saying to always attack the top foot but that doesn't always work against good defenders. Good defenders will bump and be strong through a top foot attack so its important to be able to read the defenders feet and try shift them out of position so their stance is either too open for a back foot attack or their top foot is between your feet or shoulders for a top foot attack.
Basically as a hooper you need to master which foot to attack... I myself is a Top foot attacker, who pushes through contact... Eventually mastering one specific style will lead to better reading of your opponents when you master one you can switch it up and use the other aswell
@@a.d9780 You were born in 1997 and You joined youtube May 29 2022 with that BS point of view being your only comment so who's the real troll here goofy
These videos are so true. This is true fundamentals. Combine these with the other things that offensive players are allowed to get away with in the NBA and more and more in college, and your defender is facing an uphill battle. What I am talking about is rampant traveling, palming the ball, using your off hand to forearm the defender and fend him off. And don't even get me started on the eurostep. Is it any wonder that with the talent some players have that they are basically unstoppable? That is why we don't see the defense in the NBA from past years.
Once you attack the top foot and get past them. Cut in front of them and force them behind you. Probably the easier way to get a bucket if you have a lane. You don’t even need to be faster than the guy. Just get your step in front of the defender and you’re home free.
Best breakdown videos I ever seen!! 💯👍🏾 i shows u all the bells and whistles on offense and how to react to defensive players of all types and there tendencies….. great footage!
Thank you coach Frikki! Great tips and reads. You can be great ballhandler on practice without defender, but if you aren't able to make reads you won't be able to make a play.
i havent played basketball in atleast 4 years now (thanks to the pandemic and work.) but now i found a balance and i'm wanting to get back inside the court again and your videos are helping me to find my confidence to actually play again in my local court. thank you for that.
Great vid. It all comes down to getting momentum direction and your hips past their hips, going towards the basket. So many defenders overload the front foot in a straight up... but you have to judge their momentum, arm length, and your position on the floor to figure out the best angle to the hoop. Especially in a half court game.
Deadass the best basketball video I’ve ever seen. Most videos tell you to do certain moves, but they never explain where or why you should do them. It’s always how to do it, but you explain where and why you should do certain moves. Perfect
I like to consider myself a little above average compared to the common hooper but I give anyone props who can anylyze the game in real time. I just spam dribble moves or use a quick first step and hope for the best
This video was exactly what i was looking for. I know a ton of moves and how they’re effective but always wanted to know the why behind using them. Makes them much more effective thanks for the tips especially the getting your base wider than the defenders
Great breakdown. It's helpful to think about the pros and cons of which foot to attack. But for a good driver the focus is more on which side has an open lane because they can beat a defender either way. If they don't have the sheer explosiveness to do it they can get there with a combination of ball-handling, hesitation, and timing the defender's reactions.
This is one of the best basketball videos I've ever watched. There is just so much detail and such a great deal of examples, it's just an incredibly humble and instructive video, far from all the bullshit that you find on youtube these days. I'd like the video twice if I could
that's a great point. anticipating that half beat right before you attach whichever side you go to, is a great way to train your vision on when to attack
This was a fun video to watch an take quiz at the end.. still confused me when in 2 very similar scenarios the defender was wide open and one attacked left and the other right.
Hey coach, great tips and I really like your channel, can you make some tips for defense it would be an excellent video and I would like to see what do you think about defense
The difficult defenders are the ones who don't use the front and back foot strategy. Whenever someone was defending me like this it was more difficult for me and when i started defending like this I rarely got blown by and became even better at defense (I always was our teams best defender, but after that I was even better).
If they are flat (neither foot in front) you should 1) Shift them the wrong direction if they are close. Fake and drive opposite 2) Shoot if they're far off.
Great stuff. But to do this legally when starting the dribble you need your _front_ foot to be the pivot. Cause you have to lift the back foot very early in the move, and if the pivot foot is lifted before releasing the ball it's a travel! _ALL_ the instances in this video in which the back foot is the pivot are travels (0:32, 0:46, 1:00, 1:06, 1:15, 1:33, 1:38, 1:41, 1:49, 2:19, 2:26, 2:28, 2:40, 2:44, 2:53, 2:56, ... stopped counting). Whether they'd be actually called is a different story, but the rule for starting a dribble is clear.
Great video for the IQ test i think that it depends on the offenses ability to drive left or right think about somebody like ginobili who almost always went left and also certain players move their feet worse to the left but the general principles are still there so I really appreciate the video.
Thanks man, you’re the only UA-camr I know who focus on concepts and plays when it comes to offence, and not like most who says “do this ankle breaker combos”

opponent gives you space? Dribble till close with the basket, then use fakeout if defender always reacb you first.
