    How to increase your layup percentage:
    1. lay the ball up high (top corner of the white box)
    2. get even higher than that (softer touch)
    3. get some spin on the ball
    - chest toward the wall - rotate thumb
    - shoulder rotated away - rotate pinky
    Thanks Coach Collin!

      Hi, I got a question. I'm playing basketball (just for fun in ours playground here in Italy, surely I will never be a NBA star, but still..) since a couple of months, almost every day an hour or 2 a day. My jumpshot is improved significantly since, but I'm really struggling with layups. When you say "rotate thumb/pinky" where do I want to rotate? Towards the basket or towards the outside? I forgot to mention I'm a right handed. Especially for a finger roll or a lay-in.. Tysm so much for your answer, and I beg your pardon for my bad English.

    Recently my layups have been too strong off the backboard, and Ive been using the same mechanics I always do, this wasn’t happening before. Even when I reduce my power of the layups, it’s still too strong 😭.

      If ur layups are too strong just put the ball lower on the glass I unconsciously shoot my layups stronger when I have defenders around me or jumping to block me but a way I can get the ball from not bouncing off the backboard over the hoop is aiming my layups right inside the lower middle of the box it just bounces right in similar to how if you shoot and the ball hits the backboard you’re able to bank the shot

    • @bazillionaire8
      @bazillionaire8 Рік тому

      You need to flick the ball up when you're going for a layup. If it is going to strong, you are throwing the ball at the backboard which will make it bounce back
