I am a Norwegian music journalist, and Hayde’s music hit me so hard a few weeks ago. I`ve been listening to them since then over and over again. It`s some kind of magic to this band and Rebekka’s angel like voice with her expression and unbelievable overtones. Hayde’s live performances of “Wayfaring Stranger” and “All My Tears” make me believe there’s a God and there is eternity.

I first heard this song the morning that my grandfather passed away. My uncle and me were coming back from the hospital, it was quiet. He put this song on and at first I didn't really pay attention. Once I heard "I'm only going over Jordan" everything felt still. As I kept listening I could feel the tears and emotions finally building up inside. When I heard "I'm going to see my mother, she said she'd meet me there when I come." I could feel the tears overflowing. This song helped me get through that week. Even now after 6 months when I hear this song it helps me remember that he is in a better place. I miss him so much and not a day has gone by that I don't think of him.
So sorry for your loss of a beloved grandfather, Twyla. I can't begin to know how music like this can bring such comfort and peace at such times of grief, but it does. May you continue to traverse your valley of sadness with soothing music, the love of friends, and the Prince of Peace to surround you.

Absolutely the best version of this song ever made. I have cried many times listening to this and thinking about the ones I have lost. Thank you for recording this.
I am neither religious nor a romantic, but this rendition of this song brought flowing tears to my eyes. It evokes the ultimate sorrow yet uplifts one with its sweet, haunting tones.
The overtones this young vocal soloist produces are almost otherworldly. One feels at least temporarily transported to the place described in the lyrics.
The singing is fabulous, but the musical intro is so beautiful and haunting. The combination is perfection. I have listened to this song so many times and it only draws me in more.
I've always loved this song and to hear it by this girl was the absolute best I have ever heard. There's something about her voice that evokes, sadness, nostalgia, longing and sorrow, especially for me since I lost my wife of 55 years a few years ago. It makes me somehow think there is a life beyond this where we will be reunited

As a child only 12 I sang that song on a old weathered porch on country cabin while my friends father played the fiddle , and his grandpa played the harmonica. It echoed through those deep Ozark hills ! Hearing it just now raised the hairs on my neck and sparked a tear from my eye !
Its been 5 years since I last commented on this performance and I still believe, after listening to it more than a thousand times, it is the best version out there! Just outstanding. Love Hayde and all they perform!! God bless you all and keep performing!!!!
Lost my sister-in-law 8 years ago and our favorite priest five years ago; both from colon cancer. Will say a prayer for your brother at Mass this weekend.
The one thing to always keep in mind is it really is the last time you'll ever say good bye....because when we get to where he and the rest of us will all go one day there will be no more goodbyes, no tears, no pain, no sadness, no loneliness, and no more despair. Treasure everyday that you can spent with him and most importantly keep your faith!
I met them yesterday in Wilmington NC. Such wonderful people. I was speak with the usher after the show - a mountain girl from NC. She cried twice during the two gospels. Never heard anything like this
This song as sung by the lead vocalist and accompanying bluegrass orchestra brings chills up an down my spine. I love playing it on my acoustic guitar and singing it. Johnny Cash and Emmylou Harris both recorded it but no one or group could ever hold a candle to the Hayde version ❤
Beautiful version, very well done! I grew up in a house and area in southern mo where bluegrass music was played all the time. My Daddy played multiple instruments. He went home to be with Jesus in 2008, and till this very day its still difficult to listen bluegrass without tearing up thinking about him! Please Please receive Jesus before its too late for you, and make sure your family and neighbors are saved!

Overwhelmed, with tears in my eyes, have I listend to her over and over. What a voice! And what a song! And dont forget all the other fantastic musicians, without them it had not been this wonderful moment of heavenly light.
I agree that this is a fabulous version and a great voice. Natalie Merchant and Rhiannon Giddens have also recorded beautiful versions of this wonderful song.
I found this accidentally a couple of years ago, and thought it was beautiful. Thought it was group of college kids jamming in someones sitting room. When I realized who they were, I listened whenever I could to versions from all over, from well-known artists to informal groups. This is still the best version, in my opinion, simple and sweet. Love it every time I listen.

So moving! So powerful! I am 71 now and beginning to compose a list of songs for my funeral. This may have just made it onto a short list. Thank you for this.
I'm 73 and was thinking precisely the same. This, and Maria Callas' rendition of Schubert's Ave Maria. Pieces such as these are in and of themselves celebrations of the beauty within the human spirit.
I'm walking this land of strangers. I feel I don't belong. For I know this is not home. I keep searching for the promise land. I look forward to the land where I fill at home. A stranger with no bed to lay my head. With no roots to let the tree grow. I will wait for Christ to come to guide me home.
I've heard this song many times in 64 years. None of them brought me to tears like this one. I can't listen to this without getting a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.
This song - in this version - has helped to save my life about 6 months ago, I found a LOT of strength in this version and a few other songs.... Thanks to Hayde I still exist...
Thank God, brother. I'm glad you saw that life still had more for you by using these amazing people. Thanks to Hayde for allowing themselves to be used so that you are still alive and I thank Jesus that if you trust in Him as your Lord and Savior you will live forever in eternity. This song is amazing, but what's even more amazing is the band and the young woman Rebekka is beyond amazing. I don't know why this band is NOT famous worldwide. They should have multiple Grammy's. The way Rebekka sings this song is mind blowing! Great job guys!
I have tried to find more of their music but the settings are not in a studio type setting so it does not sound nearly as good as it does in this video. I wish they would do an album.
What I find totally amazing is that the Europeans have a better understanding and appreciation of the good old American Country and Blue Grass Music; plus you can understand the words! Unfortunately Nashville is putting out trash! Hope no one is offended!!!!

There are things so beautiful they are beyond words, and this is certainly one of them
Beautiful. Check out Amy Wadge ; Faith's song. She's brilliant.
So ...this song is like....boobs
@@lynneharris5457 Thank you, I will. So appreciate these tips. Someone just led me to Rhiannon Giddens...spectacular! Thanks again.
This song is over 300 years old, yet timeless.
I can’t get enough of her voice.
The violinist is very talented, the little lady sings beautifully!
This is one of the best versions I've heard. Extremely pure.
The only other version of this I've heard is by Michael Parks. After hearing this, I recommend both.
"I'm going there to see my father...my mother.." Tears are flowing...thanks be to God through Jesus Christ that I have that hope.
I don't believe in any of that religious crap (strictly evidence based), but tears are still flowing as I read these and every time I listen to this.
@@tubinreo I believe in God and the Salvation bought with the blood of Jesus Christ based entirely on the evidence.
All right....here we are....23 January 2022. If my father were still alive, he would be 105. Thank you for your music,.
What a beautiful lady singing a beautiful song. Your music blesses me. Thank you
As a child only 12 I sang that song on a old weathered porch on country cabin while my friends father played the fiddle , and his grandpa played the harmonica. It echoed through those deep Ozark hills ! Hearing it just now raised the hairs on my neck and sparked a tear from my eye !
40 year old, life-long punk rocker here -- this is absolutely AMAZING. Transcends genre, just gorgeous music.
The presentation of this song and the power in her voice sent a chill down my spine. Totally AMAZING
Its been 5 years since I last commented on this performance and I still believe, after listening to it more than a thousand times, it is the best version out there! Just outstanding. Love Hayde and all they perform!! God bless you all and keep performing!!!!
Let me tell y'all how much I love to find out that a Norwegian group does American music better than most Americans.
I love it a lot.
Steve'n'Seagulls is equally another Norwegian bluegrass group
It seems that area of the globe produces the best music regardless of genre.
Blue grass came for Ireland ,my roots also im Norwegian too❤️✝️🛐🗝️💕
Emma Jenkins From Finland!
That's because the most of the good American country singers are dead or old and semi retired.
She sings with real soul. Well done.
Heavenly, I have no other words for this.
A 300 year old Hymm.
Jesus, forgive all of us...
I’ve heard many wonderful versions of this song, but imho, this is the very best.
I'm 65 y.o disable french man and I thank you so much for the tsars you put in my eyes with this so beautiful version...❤
Getting ready for my own journey, this song is like looking at the stars on a clear night. Wonderment, sadness and joy all at once. Vaya Con Dios!
Ii want this played at my funeral. It is so beautiful....many thanks to Hayde....
My little brother just shared this with me 😪 he has stage 4 colon cancer.. selfishly I don't want him to go home yet 💔❤
Lost my sister-in-law 8 years ago and our favorite priest five years ago; both from colon cancer. Will say a prayer for your brother at Mass this weekend.
@@NavyCWO thank you so much 🙏
No retreat, no surrender! 🦋🙋♂️
@@jeromedavid7944 Thank you so much for your encouraging words🌸🌱🙏
This girls voice....wow! I can't stop listening.
I met them yesterday in Wilmington NC. Such wonderful people. I was speak with the usher after the show - a mountain girl from NC. She cried twice during the two gospels.
Never heard anything like this
Wow... This takes my breath away. I absolutely love this. The instrumentalists are phenomenal, and her voice... wow.
Danielle Zwissler I couldn’t agree with you more. Absolutely breathtaking!!
They're there always among what is great about the human spirit.
I also agree with Danielle. The song is perfect . It is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
When the trumpit sounds a heavenly hoast will ring out. It will be beautiful
I doubt that this song will ever be done better.
Again...17 August 2024.....the world is collapsing...thank you for the music....
Here, again, 15 December 2014
The legend JD SUMNER will be happy man in heaven watching this!!
The very best version of this song ever.😊
She has the voice of an angel.
Her voice is so pure and innocent sounding! Beautiful! I have been a wayfaring stranger plenty in my life. :*(
I'm not religious, but her voice is God sent...
I'm 73 lam a musicians addict. (, addicted to music) This is by far the most moving and memorable rendition of this song I've ever heard..
.
... Best of Luck to Hayde & friends.....
Amen again.
Overwhelmed, with tears in my eyes, have I listend to her over and over. What a voice! And what a song! And dont forget all the other fantastic musicians, without them it had not been this wonderful moment of heavenly light.
Amen, beyond just the simply plaintive sounds I have heard before
The violin solo - she cries but sheds no tears
Tracker brought me here too. Such an awesome, comforting version of this song
Same here. Heard this on Tracker. Just beautiful.
Why can't we get this beautiful music on the radio instead of hearing the same songs over and over and over again!
This is one of my favorite songs and the most beautiful rendition of this song I've heard.
Check out Driftwood with this number.
I agree that this is a fabulous version and a great voice. Natalie Merchant and Rhiannon Giddens have also recorded beautiful versions of this wonderful song.
Portcullis you may also try Selah
The Robert Earl Keen + Natalie Maines rendition on his bluegrass album is fantastic as well!
Listen to Eva Cassidy or Johnny Cash's versions of this song and probably the best
One of the best versions of wayfaring stranger I’ve ever heard.
The woman singing is so talented. Wow. Thanks.
Very nice 😢
Now that earth is mine, you gotta trust in God
It's always been like this...return to eternity with a smile.
❤ Best version I ever heard ❤
I always had Jack White's rendition of this song as my favourite. Now it's in second place. Simply beautiful.
I am a poor wayfaring stranger
Travelling through this world alone
There is no sickness, toil nor danger
In that fair land to which I go
I'm going home
To see my mother
I'm going home
No more to roam
I am just going over Jordan
I am just going over home
I know dark clouds will hover o'er me
I know my pathway is rough and steep
But golden fields lie out before me
Where weary eyes no more will weep
I'm going home
To see my father
I'm going home
No more to roam
I am just going over Jordan
I am just going over home
I'll soon be free from every trial
This form shall rest beneath the sod
I'll drop the cross of self denial
And enter in that home with God
I'm going home
To see my savior
I'm going home
No more to roam
I am just going over Jordan
I am just going over home

So moving! So powerful! I am 71 now and beginning to compose a list of songs for my funeral. This may have just made it onto a short list. Thank you for this.
Me too
I'm 73 and was thinking precisely the same. This, and Maria Callas' rendition of Schubert's Ave Maria. Pieces such as these are in and of themselves celebrations of the beauty within the human spirit.
A voice that pierces the soul.
I'm walking this land of strangers. I feel I don't belong. For I know this is not home. I keep searching for the promise land. I look forward to the land where I fill at home. A stranger with no bed to lay my head. With no roots to let the tree grow. I will wait for Christ to come to guide me home.
GOD Bless these Kids and keep them singing and playing Beautifull Songs AMEN
Can't help coming back again and again 💕💕💕
I've heard this song many times in 64 years. None of them brought me to tears like this one. I can't listen to this without getting a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.

Listen..! Angelic.🙏
Why do you
write like
this? I
wonder.
I've listened to TONS of versions of Wayfaring Stranger. This version is the GOLD STANDARD to measure all the rest of them by.
God bless, friend, may He continue to show you that He still has a plan for you.

Bram van Munster : Glad to hear that Bram, it is no secret what God can do! I’ll keep you in my prayers, Bram. We all have experienced difficulties in our lifetimes and I am not trivializing your situation of 6 months ago, Jesus loves us and always will. Hang in there, ask for help or guidance anytime you need it, and keep your eyes on the prize: HEAVEN. I’ll be looking for ya! God be with you, my friend.
Thank you Lord, for intervening with Bram van Munster
All the best , for the future brother
The violinist has the face of Madonna... and the vocalist the voice of an angel. A treat, thank you
I think you mean the face of THE Madonna, the Virgin Mary, not Madonna, the whorish celebrity of our sad age.
Totally agree these guys are fabulous.
Beautiful voice, and beautiful rendition of this great song.
I wish they would do an album.
the same reason McDonald's is always busy
So pure. Running chills now.
For a guy that grew up in Van Lear, KY. I can appreciate this. Mountain music is the best!!
Can't stop playing this song. Violin touches the heart.
What I find totally amazing is that the Europeans have a better understanding and appreciation of the good old American Country and Blue Grass Music; plus you can understand the words! Unfortunately Nashville is putting out trash! Hope no one is offended!!!!
I Don’t Care If They Are
The corporate music industry is putting out that garbage. Plenty of Americans still know what real country and western are.
Honestly country music today is the equivalent of smut. Pop and even some rap music is more wholesome than the music coming out of Nashville.
This is good, where are the people who love bluegrass style gospel?
This is the most beautiful and deeply moving rendition I have ever heard of this song! I highly doubt it could be delivered better than this is! Thank you!
Tim Buckley does a really nice version too. Milo
Not downplaying this in any way, but.....Listen to Emmy Lou's version.
This version ua-cam.com/video/EqcyCmEfPNc/v-deo.html and a live version from The Petersens are also very good in my opinion.
