I was in my dad's band. He passed away in 2016. Me and him went to yard sales together, all kinds of things.i helped him get ready every Saturday night for music in his garage around at my mom and dad's house. My mom and dad would open up there home and let people from our little town listen to them play .I miss him so much. Now my mom is in the nursing home with Parkinson's and we just found out yesterday that we have 30 days to place my mom somewhere else, because they sold the nursing home she in. This song is very comforting to me to listen to.

Y'all... Coming from a 66 year old man who has listened to country & western, swing, bluegrass, and folk, and managed concerts, THERE IS NO BETTER MUSICAL COMPOSITION AND ACCOMPANIMENT THAN WHAT Y'ALL DID WITH THIS SONG. It is sublime, rhythmic, and articulate all at the same time. This is musical mastery. As always, lil miss lead singer is spot on with every note of her voice, but then I would posit that because of the skill of the instrumentalists she is both inspired and confident to sing with all of her inner strength. Y'all got something here guys...

I commented a year ago on this beautiful song. This September 28 2022 I laid my phone playing this song to heron my wife's chest in a hospice room. As she breathed her last breaths another victim of bad health and COVID. I cried my eyes out then and I am doing it again now as I write this. They say hearing is the last sense to go so I prayed she heard it and could feel my son and I holding her hands. She passed ironically at 3:16 pm as hurricane Ian pressed down on us. My son who held her hand on the other side of the bed is named Ian. I have the time as a constant reminder of John 3:16. RIP my love of 47 years. I will be a long soon. Thank you for the years and thank you for this song.

I like the voice i just wish they had mixed it better with the music. I wanted to hear more of the music in a blend with her voice. Instead it just overpowers the cords and at times nearly drowns out the music. Good rendition though.

I'm walking this land of strangers. I feel I don't belong. For I know this is not home. I keep searching for the promise land. I look forward to the land where I fill at home. A stranger with no bed to lay my head. With no roots to let the tree grow. I will wait for Christ to come to guide me home.

I first heard this song the morning that my grandfather passed away. My uncle and me were coming back from the hospital, it was quiet. He put this song on and at first I didn't really pay attention. Once I heard "I'm only going over Jordan" everything felt still. As I kept listening I could feel the tears and emotions finally building up inside. When I heard "I'm going to see my mother, she said she'd meet me there when I come." I could feel the tears overflowing. This song helped me get through that week. Even now after 6 months when I hear this song it helps me remember that he is in a better place. I miss him so much and not a day has gone by that I don't think of him.

So sorry for your loss of a beloved grandfather, Twyla. I can't begin to know how music like this can bring such comfort and peace at such times of grief, but it does. May you continue to traverse your valley of sadness with soothing music, the love of friends, and the Prince of Peace to surround you.

This song as sung by the lead vocalist and accompanying bluegrass orchestra brings chills up an down my spine. I love playing it on my acoustic guitar and singing it. Johnny Cash and Emmylou Harris both recorded it but no one or group could ever hold a candle to the Hayde version ❤

Dad died just a couple days ago. 79, decent man who made mistakes like all of us as a young man but knuckled down and accepted Jesus as his saviour a few months after my mum's death a couple years ago.
There's no mourning or dark clouds for my hope and knowledge that I'll see them both again is a guarantee the Lord granted me.
    Rejoice!
