There is no other group of musicians that moves me and elevates my sprit like Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra does. I’ve been listening to Bluegrass and Country music for 60 years and y’all are in my Top 5 of all time. What a blessing. This set is on my favorites list.
I speak Appalachian English by birth. Rebekka speaks it as a non native speaker; Moe plays her fiddle as if she were raised on my grand daddy's knee to hit every note sublimely! I can't seem to find a North American concert schedule. I'd come as far as Iceland to hear Moe play that bridge to Heaven and Hell; come to Oslo to elevates the pickin n a grinnin in my life.
I was born and raised here in the Bluegrass. Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra deserves recognition as one of the best Bluegrass bands ever. They sing these songs from their souls and it shows. I would love nothing more than to see you guys come to Kentucky and perform! You would be greeted with that southern hospitality and leave those who've not had the pleasure of hearing you perform in awe and amazement. It really says something about a group of performers that can do a cover of a song and make it sound better than the original artist. This comes from someone who has loved Bluegrass music their whole life. Thank you for these gifts you put out into the world and into our hearts and homes!
Rebekka Nilsson has that wonderful high, sweet, trilling voice so prized by bluegrass groups as a counterpoint to the earthy and often wild texture of this roots-like genre. One thinks of Alison Krauss, for example. Then when you consider how English is not her first language (and nevermind Appalachian English which, as a native, I can attest is a language all its own), it's simply amazing hearing her on-point phrasing and pronunciation, not a hint of a Norwegian accent. Based on her singing voice, she could be a girl I went to school with in the heart of eastern KY, raised in a coal-heated 'Jenny Lind' shotgun house -- assuming my schoolmate could sing like an angel! What a treasure!
I am always amazed they get the regional dialect right -- just perfect -- when I have watched American films for years that can't get near the authentic speech of the English and Scots descendants of the colonial settlers...
I'm knocked over that a vocalist and musicians are this elevating, but now I find out they wrote these songs, including the lyrics and they speak a different language?! They so capture the ole timie soul of America!
I'd tell you right now if I die listening to this woman sing I'll die a happy man she literally has the voice that can only be handed down by God himself she is one of a kind
Wow, I am at a loss for words ... your musical performance is so completely brilliant. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us ! May God bless all of you and take care of you !
Another beautiful performance. I’m astounded that you are not being played daily in any of the American Bluegrass programming. For the Love of God finish the album and release it!!! The world is waiting.
At 78 yrs, I don't know how much time I have left , so please finish your album and put in on Amazon. Love all of your music . You are as good or better than any bluegrass band. So soothing listening to your band.
The sound that you guys create is special. Not sure what it is but you all should consider sticking together and staying the course because your sound and look and even your personalities are very easy to like and listen to. I see a big success for you. My opinion, Hayde touches a part of the subconscious with thier sound and songs. As if you are all from another time...?
I spent my early years in Harlan County, some great memories, and some of my worst. It is a beautiful place, and this is the best group in the business.
Thank you UA-cam for recomending this amazing bluegrass band to me. Fantastic songs, fantastic singer and fantastic musicians. Hälsningar från Sverige! 🇳🇴🇸🇪
It always amazes me when musicians "Come together' and "submit" to each other for the "Greater Good" My God! They are AWESOME and unstoppable in their trajectory. God bless you. The voice of reason and music. You have to tour Australia. This is where ABBA got their start.
Truly wonderful. The instruments sound so rich, smooth, and sweet. Waiting to see your CD on Amazon. When it's done, send a copy to the Coen brothers so they can build their next movie around it. As a group, you are so tight, so together, so perfectly in sync, so effortlessly gracious and sharing, everyone comes across as a star in their time. To quote Steve Martin (actually, make sure he gets to hear you), "wonderful, wonderful, wonderful".
Her voice is so beautiful ,it gives my soul the chills. Igot to say,I've been following them for a while and this has to be their best live show. They nailed it. Stand ovation from me.
It’s scary to imagine the purposes of the One who summoned the vocal and instrumental souls of HBO and entwined them to produce the ethereal soundscape which we are privileged to inhabit. HBO, you truly are a phenomen! Thank you.
Her voice us up there with Sierra Ferrell for some of the greatest voices of a generation. This entire band is just phenomenal and THEN to find theyre Norwegian and that English isn't their native language just blows me away. So much love and respect for their talents. Their cover of Brothers in Arms is one of the best covers of any song ever done IMO. In the pantheon with Hendrix doing All Along the Watchtower.
When I was very young I remember my dad buying a very large tabletop radio for the explicit purpose of being able to listen to the Grand Ole Opry on the weekends. Most of our vacation trips where to Nashville to hear the various country artists that my parents listened to back In those golden years. I've seen performances by a stage full of musicians that captivated your eyes ears and soul like HBO... but, NOT THIS GOOD! :)
I’ve commented before, but I have to say this, each and everyone of you are world class. I think I’ve listened to all your shows and they are all incredible. Rebekah has to come my place so she can sing me to sleep with her wonderful voice. 😆
Totally Awesome 👌, I'm of Irish/Scottish decent. Love your style of music, Beautiful. Come to the Great State of Maine, I live in Mid Coast Maine, One of the Lobster Capital's of the world. You all should come and visit. That would be totally Awesome. Thank you for your sounds.
Absolutely brilliant! Thank you, guys... since lockdown, I've subscribed to Southern Raised, The Petersens and of course, you guys... I'm so spoilt for choice... Please keep them coming?
Hoooooolaaaaaaaa¡¡¡¡ Desde Colombia, creo que soy el primero que en español les saluda, me enorgullece eso, me deleita su música, les escucho bastante, no dejen de publicar sus presentaciones. Gracias, gracias, gracias
I love it when I discover new music. :-) I'm a Bluegrass-Newgrass-Acidgrass fanboy. Hayde B.O. is my finest discovery since Emmylou (1974), Alison (1989), Crooked Still (2005). Rebekkah is astonishing -- up high and pure. Phrasing to die for. Every song she does -- I hear it for the first time.
At first I was puzzled by this comparison since there is little physical resemblance between Judith Durham and Rebekka. After thinking about it I realized that they do have some things in common. Both are exceptional singers and both have mastered genres from outside of the land of their birth. I could listen to both all day.
I started listening to Aurora this year, and it's crazy to think my two favorite singers now are Norwegian. I just keep switching back and forth between her and Rebekka Nilsson, depending on which genre I'm in the mood for. What other crazy talent is Norway hiding? What other Norwegian artists should I be listening to?
@@ellenpeele6724 Is Alina from Germany? I didn't know that. The name is Slavic but so many immigrants came from the East in the 90's (Czechs, Poles, Ukrainians, etc) that this doesn't surprise me. Anna Murphy is great. I think I'm going to listen to "A Rose for Epona" now that I read your comment. Haven't heard that in a long time. Thanks.
Yeah there is no voice like hers very awesome and unique should be heard everywhere and the band is a group of fantastic musicians! I like playing guitar myself and want to play more in this style it's awesome 👍

Just discovered them. What a treat! Love them!

I'm from NC myself and it truly is amazing how they sound as if they they are native bluegrass singers.
You could have knocked me over with a feather..lol
From meeting Norwegian people over the years English is tought in their school system
There is something rather 'Judith Durham' about Rebekka's sweet voice.
i´m in love with Rebekka, almost everyday listen lord dont forsake me and wayfaring stranger, she is an angel
I have never heard a violin make those kinds of sounds. That young lady can play like nobody’s business! WOW!!!

Amein to all of that. Her voice is angelic too. I get such a comfortable, heavenly, good feeling listening.
Completely agree. Thank you all for the blessings
My grandfather was a union president of a coal mine in Harlan in the 1930s. It is a very beautiful place. And yes coal lumps just lay on the ground.

Back home to Harlen is one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard, Probably because you do such an amazing job singing.

Wonderful voice that young lady has keep up the great job
Quelques titres disponibles en France, mais encore trop peu pour ce groupe vraiment excellent et une chanteuse à la voix si pure....

Kyrkjebø - Shannandoah or just Wardruna. Kaizers Orchestra, but they are perhaps a bit old news.
