It really is confusing sometimes how Uber Eats works. Tonight I had a pickup at Taco Bell. I wasn't paying attention; it was a 20 mile trip, but once I accept, I deliver (unless the restaurant fails). The weird thing, to me, is that there's a Taco Bell within two miles of the drop off point. Why did it have me pick up 20 miles away? Have they figured out that drivers are more likely to complete if they get the food in the car quickly?
Yes! I have noticed this as well. Poor customer gets lukewarm food when it could easily be hot. I guess their algorithm knows there are no drivers near the closer location and we are more likely to take the order this way? Thank you for sharing this! Russ
