Really great video. An actual beginning to end walk through. Using a bike is perfect because it costs nothing other than your time. In a car obviously you have to account for fuel etc but a bike is absolutely perfect.

Are the Sealskinz gloves responsive when using your smartphone? I am looking for some decent winter gloves that work well when I am out walking and listening to podcasts. It takes several attempts with my current etip gloves.
Cheers Phil! Yes the Sealskinz gloves are touch screen gloves. They are pretty responsive, sometimes because they are bit chunky you miss the area you are wanting to click but you'll get use to using them with your phone. On the bike they keep my hands warm, when it gets really cold it still works well but it may take a bit of time for your hands to warm up. They are great because they are waterproof and it's hard to find gloves that are touch screen, keep your hands warm and are waterproof!

Hey man, when the order first comes on your app, it shows the pickup location and the customer's street/road, but no postcode or anything. So basically you just have to guess.
Is there any settings/buttons on the app that pops up when the order comes and it chimes, where you can see the cust's address on a map? It does not seem to show you any map at all at that stage. Only after you have picked up do you get a map! 😞

Hello thanks for the information. Quick question.. The App keeps asking for me to update my bank information (account needs attention) I've done this several times to add the right info for my bank? I feel like it could just be a minor error or tech issue idk.. However it allows me to go online, take orders etc... If I start working will I still get paid do you know or is it an issue?

Hello, I have a couple of questions.
I've been Doordashing and UberEATS by car since July 2022. Since the weather is finally starting to clear up I was thinking of using my bike more (for personal use and gig work with DD/UE).
Just wanted to ask do you normally take your bicycle inside restaurants when you have no option to lock it outside?
Also, is biking with the standard tote bags from DD/UE doable? I was thinking of enforcing some cardboard inside of my UE bag (the one mainly used by drivers - not the backpack) and attaching a carabiner through the loop of my backpack (hoping it stays in place). I don't mind getting a backpack in the future, just wanted to see if I could work with what I currently have now.
Edit: Got myself an insulated backpack and tried it out a couple of weeks ago. Overall, it went pretty well. Only managed to get 2 orders (since it was the end of lunch rush), but it wasn't too bad. I recently bought myself a u-lock (since the only lock I had was a cable lock), so I'm hoping to get out more whenever possible.

@@Sukh_dhaliwal_2787 as long as you take good quality paying orders it should be fine. Make sure to keep track of your mileage.
Make sure you have a cup holder in your bag, riding a bicycle can be tricky when delivering drinks. Make sure your drinks lids are secure because the drink can spill.

I wish they lowered the age for signing up. I am 17 and graduating highschool soon and I want to invest in an ebike and deliver for uber over the summer to earn some money. I already have a job since I was 16 but having some extra money never hurts. The only thing is, my birthday is in September and their minimum requirement to hire is 18.

Hi Gig im considering doing deliveries on the side of my main job at weekends as I have those free and want to earn some extra cash, Justeat in my area isnt accepting couriers so my main issue at the moment is I dont want to provide Ubereats with all my info and waste time on the process of signing up to get to the end to see theres no positions available to stop overcrowding of couriers.
Could you advise on if they allow anyone to sign up regardless of the amount of people who currently deliver?

You're considered self-employed. Just make sure you set aside money for taxes after each weekly payout (some suggest 15.3% of your earnings but it may vary where you're from).
Like this you won't have to worry too much when tax season comes and you'll have enough to essentially pay off the taxes you owe.
If you do delivery by car you can either write off your miles or write off the expenses of your car (i.e. gas, maintenance, etc.).
If you do delivery by bike you can only write off expenses such as maintenance on your bike.

the boost screenshot he showed is false, the boost is not applied on the base fee which is £2.80 for mopeds, everything thereafter is multiplied
It's a bit confusing but now that they show the upfront pay I don't worry about it so much tbh. If I'm happy with what they are offering I'll take it

I ordered Hygge Vester E Bike 250W 10Ah battery, is it enough for 5-6 hours delivery?
My dad has an electric bike shop in Nottingham called PoweredBicycles. He designed my bike a very long time ago! That won't last 5-6 hours mate...I have a 17.5amp battery and it lasts me like 4-5 hours when I'm on max power so you would probably need 20amp or x2 10 amp batteries.

There's no exact time...best to wait for orders in busy areas where there are lots of restaurants that are on Uber Eats.

It’s random mate! It’s really hard to give an answer because it’s different for everyone but I recommend applying to as many apps as possible and working on the ones that activate you the fastest 👍

Hi Jayesh, how can I check my boost payment? Started two weeks ago, all of trips are just showing net and base fares but no promotion and boost fares.
If you go into the trip details and it doesn't show you boost fare, it means there was no boost at that time. If you go to earnings at the bottom should tell you what your total promotions are, thats including boost

How come when i start the delivery, the blue "navigate" button in the bottom right doesn't show up even though I have google maps downloaded and selected in uber eats app. I've only been able to see the blue navigate button to open google maps when navigating to random busy places on the map, but even that stopped working now.
Also, I tried to use the uber eats navigation instead and all that does is show my location and shows a pin where I need to go wothout directing me there with a route.

nice video but i have to disagree with you on a few points. i have around 700 hundred deliveries on uber eats and i found that the uber map isnt always very accurate. it sometimes tells me to go down one way streets or picks ridiculous routes compared to google maps. sometimes the marker is way off from house numbers which is a big pain when your in a car. the other thing i disagreed with in your video was pressing start delivery after leaving the shop. i think you should encourage people to start the delivery straight away and confirm with the shop that you have started. i say this as in my area there are a lot of riders and drivers not pressing start dellivery and instead cancelling after leaving the shop with the food so they can eat it. this causes the problem of the order staying in the system and being picked up by another driver but when they arrive the order has already gone. this means the driver has to cancel and loses out on time petrol and money. the customer also loses out on mone and food. the shop can also lose out if they choose to remake the food to be sent again. this has happened to me multiple times, some occassions i was lucky where the restaurant has made the food again so i can take it to thecustomers but on more occassions i and the customer have lost out because of greedy robbing drivers. any way good video keep it up mate!
Your mistake was using a car for this job instead of an electric bike. Using a car just sucks up your wages unnecessarily. Petrol, tax, mot, insurance, maintenance etc etc. not worth it.

Hi mate how come I don’t get a delivery I’ve been online all night at home or has things changed as I use to get delivery when I use to be at home has it changed to now being close to the restaurant as possible to get the delivery now
It might be because there are more drivers online now, alot of people are joining so uber is becoming over saturated. Make sure you are as close to the restaurant as possible at all times, else other drivers that are closer than you are will get the trips. Remember if there are only a few orders and too many drivers, you are all fighting for the next trip. Make sure you are as close as possible, your signal is strong and your phone is not slow. Else you will lose opportunities
Believe me i myself am battling. I stay 500m from restaurants and i wont get anything because there are other drivers closer than i am and there are not enough trips to go around. If a driver is closer than you are, gets a trip, and by the time the next order comes in that same driver has returned, he will het the next trip cos he is still closer. Also you might only get trips that are either collecting or delivering in the direction your last trip took you. Yes its ridiculous but it happens to me alot. Trips keep coming where i sit but i dont get it because it is going the opposite direction of where i last delivered. Also ensure you do not owe uber money, because you will only be considered for trips paid online.

Yes, uber deducts the taxes for each order on the trip summary section
No you have to do your own taxes. Uber keep a monthly earning or yearly statements for you makes it easier for yourself or your accountant to do your taxes
