    I’ve decided to attached hand written post it’s on the customer’s receipts with loving messages like “you are worthy of love” stuff like that. I know that’s pretty deep but ppl really need to hear that stuff, you never know what ppl are going through. It also doesn’t take me very long to write 20 notes a day. It makes me feel like I’m doing something that matters. 😊 I’ll say 8/10 I’ll get at least 50% tips. I think it’s worth the try!

    With Uber I always text the customer on the status like ‘still waiting for order’

    Higher concentration of customers may make order pickup faster, the drive shorter, but delivering to a campus or a high-rise complex can eat up time trying to drop off the food. I try to avoid the areas with lots of apartments and schools to lessen the aggravation of having difficult drop offs.

    My #1 suggestion is be cheerful and courteous. If you see the customer when leaving say something nice like Enjoy your food! Have a smile on and give good communication. I always indicate that I've picked up their food and am on the way so they know when it's now in MY hands vs. possible delays at the pickup location.

I actually can't believe Mike is letting this just fly out here because these tips have been crucial to me "seeing the light" (making real money) delivering in my market. I don’t recommend university areas. Mostly fast food and no tips from young college people. I rather focus on high end areas stack orders . Make sure during dinner time you’re around nice steak or sushi places . Always text customer before you arrive and ask for a building code or instructions on how to get to apartment. This will save you time and give you more opportunities to get to next order quickly. Good luck to all .

      UE really effed me up for one stacked order by sending me to the 2nd order's address first and the 1st order's address second. Literally every other time they do it in order received. So I mixed up two orders. One of the orders went to this residential house and the second went to a local university. The one that called me to say he got the wrong order was the university student. I couldn't believe my eff up. I apologized to the kid and told him I can try to go back to the first delivery and see if they still have it at the door or go back to the restaurant and pay for a new order. He was like nah, I'll just eat this, it's ok. I apologized again and he said "it's ok. it was nice talking to you" I said, "I'm sorry?" He said it again and I returned the pleasantry. Luckily the kid was super cool. He and the other order still left the tip and didn't hurt my rating which is still 5 stars. I got lucky. But, I swore to myself I would never make that same mistake again because it was so egregious.

    I always always text upon arrival at restaurants with “ Good morning , I’m just waiting for your order “ which opens the door for a reply ( often ) .
    Sometimes I’ll be told of a last minute change or other details. If I have a second pick up or stacked orders I’ll say “ I’ll be there as quick as I can”
    The number one rule in my book is to use HEAT BAGS. ! Why on earth Ubereats makes this an option is beyond me. I once did a $200 food order using 5 assorted bags. I got a $35 tip .Before the days of COVID when I would see customers face to face I would often let them know that I use my heated seats to keep their food warm. More tips. No kidding.

    For people who deliver to apartments, make it EASY on yourself. Message the customer and ask them WHICH BUILDING NUMBER and if you go "left or right" when entering complex.
    I ask that and I find apartments a lot faster. I used to spend time hunting for buildings and driving in circles looking for the apartment number. I sometimes find the apartment map on the way in, which helps to. Apartments are CAKE now. I used to HATE apartments, but now I love em. I will deliver two orders at a time to the same complex from McDonalds and literally make $12-15 in a matter of minutes, with tip included. The mileage is so much easier on your vehicle, as well.
    Messaging your customers as you're waiting at the restaurant speeds up apartment deliveries. Don't think: "...I'm gonna find the apartment on my own." It's gonna irritate you to NO END looking for that apartment! LOL! Don't even try. Just message them.

    For service members that do deliveries during non-duty hours: unless you're blown away by the offer, avoid delivering on post. You'd figure business booms because barracks soldiers hate mess hall food, but delivering on post isn't worth it most of the time. You run the risk of getting a full inspection at the gate, military police are far stricter than their civilian counterparts, the barracks are a nightmare to navigate and barracks soldiers tend to be poor tippers and communicators. Installations are usually big dead zones as well.

      Maybe.. and I could be wrong, my market doesnt see too many surge/bonuses but I have found certain areas to sit. Dont try to chase the clouds, just find those swankier restaraunts in areas you feel ok sitting.. worth a shot. Sometimes i'll get really nice stuff outside my normal strips and it's always the nicer joints.

    • @Kostly
      @Kostly Рік тому

      Your example of 5.25 for 12 miles is an obvious case of "net fare only". Meaning no tip was given through the app at time of order by the customer. NEVER accept those. Dont' accept 2-4 dollar orders EVER. Accepting orders like that just encourages people not to tip. Unacceptable for me. 5 dollar order on less than 2 miles is just ok (that would be net fare of 2 bucks plus a 3 dollar tip). Always keep in mind the net fare formula. I'm still trying to figure it out but, I think it's like 2 bucks for 2 or 3 miles and then that drops to about 35 cents/mile after that. But, you should be able to identify orders that make sense for you to accept pretty easily.
