Where’s my tip? I’m not making enough to bring customers their food and why are they insulting me only tipping a dollar. I'll check out a few recent orders and do an experiment ordering McDonalds and these insights will help us understand UberEats customers. Don't worry, UberEats isn't off the hook either.

    As someone who has driven for Uber and ordered on Uber, people either Uber ALL THE TIME or they ALMOST NEVER order Uber. For those that order Uber almost never, they can't fathom the expense but maybe they're home sick or hungover and are livid at seeing a $10 at the drive through cost meal being $45 before tip. If McDonalds sells a big mac at the store for $10, Uber lists it for $16.99. Then you have the fees, the service costs, the drive time fee, the weather fee, all of which go to Uber. Then you're expected to tip. Your $10 isn't accurate because you're not comparing the menu pricing at the restaurant vs. the inflated uber menu pricing. American interest in tipping is disappearing. That's why I stopped driving Uber. Uber is too greedy, they're too good at coercing drivers to blame the consumer, all while Uber offers less and less customer support and charges more and more on top profit to the consumer. Uber drivers are just simply being played. I started a small business and my overhead is smaller than driving for Uber. Why can they do this? Well everyone needs a second job in this economy. 9-5 pay doesn't keep up with even rent alone as a single line item expense. So many people are looking at gig work because they aren't locked into 8 hours of work at Walmart part time every weekend. Walmart wouldnt even hire you anyway anymore. They'll only hire 15 year olds, everyone else is "over qualified".

    So the customer pays UberEats a service charge, AND the cost of their food, AND the 30% that's passed on by the restaurant AND you want a tip? A tip is discretionary. If you feel like you're getting hard done by, do do UberEats. Simple. The American tipping culture is a joke and the fact that you feel ENTITLED to a tip is crazy.

    • @TheRussRyde
      @TheRussRyde 3 дні тому

  • @8307c4
    @8307c4 4 дні тому

    It's not necessarily the customer, the app itself doesn't exactly encourage tipping from their side of things. And you may not appreciate this next part but tipping ultimately is voluntary, it is not the customer's fault that your employer (aka UberEats) is too cheap to pay you a good wage. The amount of a tip does not make a customer "good" or "bad," and I've delivered in the past so I understand tipping well, but ultimately if I can't make ends meet with my present job then it is time to look for a new job, as was the case with UE for me. The part with UE hiding tips over $8 is news to me, but do you still get that tip or does UE keep it?

    • @TheRussRyde
      @TheRussRyde 4 дні тому

    I just check based on mileage and payout, if it ain’t a minimum dollar a mile I ignore it as it’s loss. And that’s aiming for better than truckers make because I’m paying for regular gas not diesel. I’ve also noticed, crap tippers tend to be the poor folks who shouldn’t be ordering due to cost, or the rich people living in gated communities who can afford to tip well. My acceptance rate is 7% and when I see payouts under my dollar a mile, I just laugh and say “oh you thought you were getting that”.

      Hi John, I won't make a video on it but page 19 of the Boblov M5 user manuel tells you how to operate the police lights and siren. You have to be in standby mode, meaning not recording. You short press the PTT button and the lights and siren come on. Short press the PTT again to turn off the alarm and short press again to turn off the lights. I hope this is helpful. Russ

    Russ, I truly do not see the value of this advice. If I don't want to accept another Uber order after accepting a first order, I can just ignore any additional orders they send me. But if I go offline, I might miss a great 2nd order that they send me after accepting a first order.

Sadly naive drivers accept terrible orders and reinforce poor customer behavior. It sounds like you are in a market where you can deliver Instacart bags that other people have shopped for you.
