You guys are amazing. Thank you so much!!
OHHH YURRRRRR!!!
Well, damn. As a non-drummer, that software looks brilliant for writing. That humanizer loosening up the groove and not having everything so quantized is just sublime.
This is honestly the best and most intuitive review of EZ3 that I’ve seen. Great work. Aaaaaaand under 20 minutes. 👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you, Drummer Jesus!
He's Mexican?
@Damien Morningstar not sure jesus mexican
@Damien Morningstar negative, Canadian Drummer Jesus
Since the dawn of the internet I've seen "omg dis Jesus" under every picture/video of a bloke with long hair and a beard. Come on, it's not like it's uncommon in the metal genre.
Amen
EZ Drummer is a life saver for me. Ever since I had an issue with my tendons in my hand, playing real drums is so uncomfortable. This software keeps me drumming with my mouse.
Thats Awsome..I've been playing guitar for 40 years, and band mates have soured me to being in bands anymore..this is a Godsend..Now I want to write music again.
Us drummers are assholes huh
Great video! EZdrummer has improved a lot since the first version.
This was a great tutorial/showcase video of ezDrummer 3. Shows pretty much every important feature of the program decently fast and not an hour long video where I feel like "yes, I got it, move on already" :)
This guy is amazing and so entertaining to watch, I'm not even a drummer ..yet..I ordered an electronic but just waiting for it to arrive..
thank you dude, and AWESOME! have fun :)
there is no program that could ever replace your comedy, or personality. you're the best!!
yet
@Federico Favaro Yet, not ever. It's coming!
@D. what has ai replaced in Music? NONTHING
I find the Tight Room kit has a bit of a 70’s sound. The kick drum and snare have that groovy vibe of the 1970’s which is pretty cool.
Im working with Ez Drummer 3 since it came out out at the begining of may and its incredible! Love the Grid Editor and the drums are sounding so real! Im excited for the future EZXs! Did also some videos about it!
I'm starting to learn and use drumming software and this just open up a whole new world for me. Thanks for this video dude very sick 👌 👏
Samus just clicking around like a madman, the level of happiness rising with every click. This video is so wholesome.
Awesome walkthrough of EZD 3. You kick ass on the drums bro!
EZ drummer definitely seems to be more user friendly than GGD. I love how everything is labeled! In GGD you have to spend so much time going through and finding which beat you want.
GGD has gotten much more user friendly over time. Also, as a drummer, I don't find most of these EZDrummer features as something I'm personally looking for--I just want the best sounding samples as easily as possible. That being said, this could be a great choice for a non-drummer and that's really cool.
Well, It's called EZ Drummer for a reason)
I'm not someone that plays drums so I'm always using pre made grooves. With the new groove customization it allows you to make the beat your own which is a game changer for getting the sound in your head into the program. I have GGD though the new samples in EZD3 along with the new expansion packs I got from Toontrack is more then what I need.
GGD is amazing!
@Handy Manny I think so too! It’s just not labeled well. If they were to organize it a little more it would be perfect!
Samus, this demo was way way better than the release video by toontrack themselves :D Thanks you, Sir
Thanks for showing me this program. I wasnt a drummer yesterday, today I released my first full album starring me on every instrument.
Your humorous enthusiasm never fails to crack me up dude, and after this week? I really needed that laugh!
Thanks man!
You have a very positive energy. Can understand why you have half a million subs (Aside from bad ass drumming skillz obviously).
Great showcase for this VST, easy grab.
thank you so much!!
I’ve had this since it came out and this was the best tutorial I have seen, now I go to use once more.
thank you!!!
DUDE! I've been using EZDrummer 2 for probably 6 years and these updates are going to be MASSIVE for me. Making custom beats for chaotic thrash and metal is going to be so much easier now. Fucking Stoked!
I've said it a million times. It's a GREAT way to learn about music and to incorporate stuff. But I always like writing my own tracks better. You can write whatever you can think of. I hope that's what most people will do. Preset grooves are great for generating quick demos also.
You can use grooves as a template for your own drum parts and then edit them later and have your own part which still has part of the feeling of the one that you originally got with the program. I guess it's kind of same way but in reverse :). Program gets you going fast if you want to record some other instruments first with a similar groove that you have in mind or trying out ideas or something like that. Depends on workflow too I guess. With the grid editor it is now pretty easy to change the drum parts how ever you like which is nice new feature.
@Muthdarr I bought the previous version thinking there would be a grid editor and was really disappointed. Of course, you can do everything inside your DAW. The current version looks interesting.
I played around with the first ever ezDrummer about 15 years ago and it blew my mind!
It has come a long way since then, using ML to even further improve the sound is awesome! Love it!
WHY? SUPERIOR DRUMMER WAS OUT FIRST AND MUCH LONGER and much better and by the same company
I have plenty of human midi packs loaded into drummer 3 . It just brings life to drum regardless of if it’s electric or acoustic
I'll go ahead and say the quiet part out loud... EZ Drummer 3 is INSANE.
Dude this is one of the best reviews i've ever seen. Thank you
thank YOU!
Damn man they killed it in this version, I allmost baught the bundle from ez2 a few months back but THANK GOD I ran out of money for toys 😀 this is mind blowing
At this point, I'm wondering if I should keep SD3 or sell it and get this one which is way cheaper... To me it's not as complete in terms of sample but oh boy for that price it's pretty interesting.
I recently bought Sleven Slate Drums SDD5.5 which is also pretty epic! Loving it.
Might check out the Ez Drummer as well. Can never have enough sounds!!!
I love SSD 5.5
I have it too, but I’m using it on my Alesis kit with a dm10 module. Ssd seems to have trouble with the hi hat triggering. I can’t get accurate open and close sounds from it. Anyone else have that issue? That’s why I’m looking into ed3.
@John Belfiglio using the same setup , great upgrade over the Alesis module
Ez drummer is better than ssd (having used both). Or even better than both of those. (Ezdrummer’s daddy) superior drummer 😅
@Drums Only yes, but is twice as much too. Lol. I still don’t use my e kit enough to justify it. And I don’t run triggers on my acoustic kit. Maybe if I combine them I. The future and go full Neil Peart setup I can. Lol. But I have messed around with Superior Drummer and do agree. I just installed ED3 and am quite impressed. Mapping is as easy as it comes! So nice. And the hi hats are way better than SSD5.5.
New sub for sure! Love your energy man. I may look at this software. Currently using Addictive Drums and it's samples for my Electronic pads.
I think there's a lot that can be done with the humanizer filter. It would be really cool to be able to download your favorite drummer's humanizer settings.
Imagine being able to have Mike Portnoy play on my shitter bedroom metal?
Jamstix dude ! It can even write you a drum part with the style of Mike 😆
As long as it doesn't come with his backing vocals.
And Mike Mangini oh wait you can just turn of the humanize (the joke is that mike mangini is so good of a drummer he sound like a midi file)
Go try Jamstix 4.
never heard of em
I've been using this for three weeks, LOVE IT! makes editing much easier, and is worth it.
This is the drum software for non-drummers 🤘🤘🤘👌👌👌 Beautiful. As a drummer, I approve
big proponent of EZdrummer here.....stoked to hear about 3 being released right as im balls deep in a project! thx for enlightening me Samus!
I've been loving EZdrummer for a few years now...but somehow I didn't know 3 was released...I don't really need it yet but I'll get it eventually I'm sure...best software imo
I love your sense of humour and your positivity
I have ezdrummer3 and superior drummer 3. Love the software. Makes getting a clean beautiful sound so easy and no matter what genre you're playing there are samples that got you covered
Is there a big difference between the two? Trying to decide which one to get
@Edgar Patlan superior drummer has everything ezdrummer has and alot more. It's definitely the better of the 2.
@drumlion2005 Why have both then??
@Coders Expo i got ezdrummer then eventually upgraded to superior.
Best review/overview of this program I’ve seen! All the others are wayyyy too in depth and assume that you’re already familiar with the software.
Thanks man! Ima buy this now.
Glad it was helpful! thank you dude!!
I just got this the other day. I frikkin love it. Great songwriting tool. That grid editor is really nice.
Great tutorial, and by the way your a hell of Great Drummer
Personally, I prefer superior drummer, but god damn, does this look amazing
EZD2 already was great, but no3 is off the charts...
Great for writing and recording, if you're not a drummer (which I'm not)!!
#nobodysperfect
Thanks for sharing your insights, I'll admit it was (to me at least) a lot more enlightening than Toontrack's introduction to EZD3 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Christ. I’ve been using EZ2 forever and even customized Reaper to mirror that Cubase-style drum editor. It’s like they paid attention to every little thing that bugged me about the existing software and fixed them all with this new version
Do you just have the regular package deal$???
Oh wow! Wasn't aware of quite a few features until watching this brilliant dude! Thank you ✌🏻
Nooooo way. They improved SO much!! Can't wait to have a room for an electric kit again!
Insane . This could pull me away from my beloved addictive drums 2
Damn, those settings...are you still using the DDRUM Module with EZDrummer3?
I wonder how the hell have you fined tuning everything so nice! 😍🤟
I’ve had this program for like four years and didn’t even know half of this stuff. Also, I’ve never laughed so hard at a review/tutorial. You fucking RULE!!!!!!
thank you dude!!
Awesome wall through this program is legit! Do you have a video showing your drum setup? I really dig the hybrid vibe, you rock dude 🤘🏼😆🤘🏼
Beautifully put together. Very useful.
Absolutely brilliant review, brought the software to life!
Just wire yourself to the program and become one with the machine. You are the drums!!!!
First time checking out the channel. Love your work on Dev's Empath.
thank you!!
Ez drummer sounds awesome, but it wont be putting you out of a Job! your drumming at the end was really excellent!
66samus I have a question. I watched your informational double bass video, but I wondered if you had any tips or tricks to developing quick feet?
Came here to learn about EZDrummer 3
Spent the whole time laughing. Dude you are funny AF
(Still learnt a lot too)
Holy crap you’re a butt kicking drummer dude
First time viewer, I really like your content. I didn’t had time to dig EZD3 yet, so I discovered plenty of features. I wonder if you ever had a chance to try SD3 and how they compare? Do SD3 have all the features EZD3 has? Technically it should because it’s the big daddy version, but somehow EZD3 is more recent… I understand SD3 can also load EZX expansions. But also have access to the SDX expansions (and some look to sound AWESOME). Thanks in advance
Thanks dude!! I still haven't tried Superior Drummer haha, I've always been an EZdrummer guy
@66Samus yeah, I got EZD3, I just wonder if I need to get SD3 and the expansion... they seem to have very nice detailed sounds... but in the end, not sure I will really exploit them. we'll see...
cool! question; you seem to have real cymbals in your own electronic drum kit at the end, but do they also trigger something in ezdrummer when you hit them? how does that work?
nope I just mic the cymbals :)
cheers!
especially the part with "writes the drums for you depending on the indstrument you import" is very interesting.
does that work with, lets say, a complete, pre-recorded rythm guitar track?
yes!!!
@66Samus sold :D I had just checked the site out to see how many hundret bucks it is... I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks for showing :)
Pretty good run through. Cheers!
Pretty sure this is the most whimsical metalhead I've ever seen. A Black Wizard of Metal he is.
yeah - as a songwriter Samus -ther is NO replacing a real drummer- i write odd metered stuff- i need people like you to make the song work
Duuuuuude thank you for this amazing walkthrough
Bought the first day... i'm in love again after Superior Drummer 3 this one is Fire
Is this better than Superior Drummer 3??? How so??
Well at least this program will always be on time.
samus's hair starting to grey means one thing... drum wizard.
Just recently discovered this dude. You and Weird Al in the same room would be insane.
Need to check out EZ Drummer again, apparently! Been awhile since I used it.
Also, I'm diggin' your Draculabyte "Alien" t-shirt :)
Привет! Да ты просто Гэндальф какой-то, глазами так играть!! :0)) Подписался, отличный канал, спасибо!👍
Nice! Sounds really good as usual. But I have a question, I've been using Superior Drummer 3 for quite a time, is this one any better or have any remarkable difference?
God damn it, you just saw the video about all new features of ED 3, can you compare it by yourself?
Superior Drummer is the more "robust" software- it's made by the same people
Depends. There were no room mikes shown. Also the articulations. SD3 has like 6-7 ride and snare articulations. Plus several levels of hihat openess. But the new interface looks much more fun to use.
Can you bring in your own sounds into the ezdrummer software?
This guy is weird and crazy.
I LOVE IT!!!
HOLY SHIT! This should be awesome with a Roland EKit or Alesis Strike Pro SE. I'm guessing a Liquid Metal Terminator comes with N.I.B, lol. BTW, you look like Jesus when he got a new kit for his birthday, happy happy happy, joy joy joy! Well done vid, great breakdown. Happy Drumming, Be Well, E...
That second kit you showed could be a nod to Taylor's kit
But there is just something about a rope tension snare with real rawhide heads that no one seems to have matched.
Bravo! Best youtube video ever! I have ez drummer 3 and i love the fucking thing! I also have GGD one kit wonder but only use it for the groove lib. to pull from to go straight to my daws track to put together a drum line! ez drummer 3 is just plain awesome! Thanks again for the awesome video! Yeah!
thank YOU dude!
Thank you. I need this really bad.👍🏼🙏
Oh yeah your a beast on the kit.cheers
THIS IS INSANE!! 🔥🥁
This program is awesome. I need it. Also, you’re the love child of Rob Zombie and Weird Al.
Me: So, you are promoting a software that will left us jobless
66Samus: Nyah!
Dude I just purchased EZ drummer 3!
This is amazing and your video is amazing and you are amazing!
And yes you do look like drummer Jesus!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Geez these guys thought of everything with this thing. Rock on macdaddy.
was just thinking that "Tight room will be gorgeous for some 70s stuff" and you started blasting on it lol😂😂
I already bought this, such a good software!
Ezdrummer just made your perfect kit even better.
Great video! Am I understanding correctly, if you change the instrument to something from a different pack. It will use the current "room" for the OH/Room instead of the pack its from? Like if you put a tight room snare in the bright room, will it have the bright room ambiance instead of the tight room ambiance?
yes!! it's amazing haha
@66Samus wow that's honestly game changing. Was looking at drum plugins all week. Think I know which one I'm getting now. Thanks!
thats not real ambience then ... just use east west spaces II if u want to do that ambience i dont get why nobody recomends to combine plugins it makes no sense
Bright Room part sounded like the intro / first verse drum beat from Never Blow Out the Eastern Candle by Absu.
Fancy time keepers and great for people who don't have access to studio sets, BUT... are the rolls not a tad weak? placement dynamics in touch... perhaps one day George Jetson will replace drummers, but not today... nothing beats the feeling of a real human and the magic of connection in making that sound...keep on brother!
Ah man…. I’m looking forward to getting this one!
I Samus, i use the mt powerdrum for my grooves, and now i think in use de ez3. I like the way mix the feels and dif grooves. Keep rocking Bro
Hello you there, good one ,he has the right attitude, he's not cocky and over confident, and I'm sure that many guys want to jam, with him
Good bye musicians, it was nice playing with you!! Lol only joking, that software can't burp or fart, drummers live on 💪
You should let new drummers know this isn’t what they think! You will have to buy an audio interface because the latency makes it un useable. For drummers like me who have no prior experience in audio ezdrummer has been an absolute nightmare for me. I paid so much, while expecting so much, and have gotten nothing but latency in return. I’ve had it for over a year now and still just use the sounds off my Alesis command module because this program makes it sooo difficult for the inexperienced like myself. Stupid ole me thought the year was 2022 and all you had to do was hookup to your computer and play.... hahaha WRONG! Not even close
If you're getting latency, sounds like time to upgrade your computer my friend :)
So the kids that are born couple years ago will use the updated version of this in 7 years and they will wonders why old men still play on drums. That is the moment when drumming will become just like making electronic music and everobody will be back on the same page.
I saw guitarist having a blast by plugging their guitar on analog computer. It took 30 more years for them to discover the power of comuters! 🤓🤓🤓
Amazing drum kit that you have!
ummmm making music with computeers and daws andvsts only became a thing in 95 it hasnt been 30 years u realize computers were rare to own in the 90s right even in very very rich countries like america the uk and canada
@Jason Anderson I listen to electronic music since 95 and metal head were bullies with us since « it was not real music » and now metal head use computer to make their music.
See my point?
You should do a video checking out the mixwave Mario duplantier sample kit!
And we have to thank Thomas Haake for all of this 🙏
You sold me - comprehensiveness of this video is astounding.
I have a small drum set at my house and I get embarrassed if I play it because I don’t like playing in front of people, is that normal? And if so how do I fix it?
So can you load up a kit, open the grid editor and just point and click where you want drum hits or do you have to find a groove first and then edit it?
you can do it either way!!
