When Tom rejoined the group in 1988 and they had this smash the following year it was like old times again. The good old Doobies of 1973. Times were good.
@@karlpeterson2986 They are now. I'd like to request a song, the Doctor by the Doobie Brothers. And who is this? It is Clinton. Alright Clinton you have a great weekend, here's your song. Alright (request to Power 99)
I love the Michael McDonald stuff ... But Tommy rocks like no one else!... Kudos to both of them for being able to share the stage as front men when they tour together.
DOOBIE BROS...... BRINGS THE CHICKS OUT...................GOD BLESS THE GIRLS....... MUSIC IS THE MEDICINE...IT'S THE CURE FOR ALL THAT'S NOT QUITE RIGHT
Salute to both Tom Johnston and Michael McDonald. Both great eras with the Doobie's. Too bad Van Halen can't have both their lead singers get along this well!!
Two complete different eras of Van Halen. Yes, Tom’s era is definitely different then Michael’s but Tom always liked R & B and other genres outside of Classic rock. However, after seeing that 1981 concert in Santa Barbara, all of McDonald’s songs were definitely classic rock that day.
They're back !!!! : i sang when this came out: Music is still the doctor for me and i think for the most of people: Hail the Doobies, take all your vitamines evry day and grow old.
Ya!! I've listened to music as my Dr. For a long time now... I was a hippie, music always makes me feel better no matter what is going on 👍🏼✌🏼️😊🌺 ** and still think as a hippie☺️
This is basically "China Grove, Part 2." And that's perfectly fine, since "China Grove" was too good to be one-and-done. Doobies proved all the naysayers wrong -- they charted a path unique in rock 'n' roll and that's why later generations love their music as much as we did way back when. You can tell a Doobies song moments after hearing a measure of it. Great arrangements and production added to the fine songwriting and musicianship.
Yeah, sing it brother Tom! I'm not surprised hearing you sing that, because it's evident, you are the "doctor" and strength of the band. Music is your language. You show us a good time with your music!
I'm pretty sure most middle aged guitar players out there would love just one jam with these guys before the hands stop workin'.. hell we all grew up playing their tunes :)
I always felt the same way. Tiran was the best. But a few years ago, after our 5th time seeing them in concert (been a fan since 1974), my wife and I met Skylark at the bar and had a great conversation with him. Great guy, my wife fell in love with him. Lol. T Porter still my favorite, but Skylark still was badass.
St 1:31 ..... Look at the guys dancing! Where are tge women. I love the Doobies. I grew up on thejr music . I bad an 8 track tapd player with speakers on my bedroom and my dad gave me many of his earliest "Collage "tapes. They started on reel to reel and my dad put blackwater on Collage#1. It took four 8 track tapes to get the 7 inch Teac revordings for a full side1 and 2 . We also had A a 10 inch but i forgot the brand . Ill remember later. I used to play yhat tape at night , real low while i slept, shen i first got that old 8 track player. I was beaming ear to ear when walking go s holl in the mornings. I eas only 7 or 8 . I was a pot smoking hiopie by 5th hrade and have remained a Christian. A true Jesus Christian to this day. Didnt like church fokk too much. They were very strange. Not just " straight" but scary hypocrits. The workd has come a long way. The church never got much better. Swaggarts church woukd hace been cool tho.why do they all have ti be Pagans pretending ti be Christians?. I didnt understand thatvuntil recently.Im glad i followed the real Jesus and hope that many others will turn tge corner and cone back my way they never really even believed in the 90s at a couple churches i saw some who really did believe. But coukdnt stick anywhere hecause the administrative prople just seemed so fake.. but misic is my doctor along side of Jesus. And i always sang along to Lisren ti the music and it made me SMILE, REAL BIG. So I know Jesus likes that song i sang it to Him as i walked thru my neighborhood. I was friendly and oioukar but was a loner. Because ibwasnt alone i walked with Jesus. Angie from Ft Worth, Texas born April Fools 1965
Everything was better back in the day. The music, cars, people 😂

Music is the best doctor. just listen to the music. since 1972. thank you Doobie brothers.
Why is this band not in the hall of fame?
@@karlpeterson2986 Because the RRHF is full of idiots. Glad to see that they finally made it but it was only at least 20 years late.

Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band opens up for The Doobie Brothers Band Easter Sunday in Miami 1976! Fact. I was there. great time.
I think you had a good time.
Me too!
It just wasn't The Doobie Brothers without Tommy Johnston!
Right on.
I love the Michael McDonald stuff ... But Tommy rocks like no one else!... Kudos to both of them for being able to share the stage as front men when they tour together.
Many hits with Micheal McDonald.
They should play this song in concerts. Great song!

Salute to both Tom Johnston and Michael McDonald. Both great eras with the Doobie's. Too bad Van Halen can't have both their lead singers get along this well!!
In fairness I think Sammy would be just fine with it.

put them in the hall
screw the hall
Just did!!!!!! Along with Chicago!!
@@doncummings8599
I cant believe CHICAGO wasn't already there......probably the biggest American band there is!!!
This year 2020 finally, but the rock hall of fame is a joke and should be for Rock and roll, not f-ing LOSER Rap artists.

I saw the Doobie Brothers back in the 70's, they were great, they sucked with Michael McDonald, i am so glad Tom Johnston is back
I'd love to play on stage with these guys! Just. One. Time.

Get that cure ,the one that's made of you!! yea, yea, yeaah.
I thought Tommy Johnson was cute in 1978 man now he is hot from a massive fan in Adelaide
Just ain't the same no more without Tiran on bass.

Music IS the Doctor!!!
Great band and song
DOOBIE BROTHERS
This song is essentially China Grove part two and that’s not a bad thing.
Great song, but they needed to fire whoever their barber was for this shoot.
It’s just came on the radio haven’t heard it in years and yes music is my doctor.
EXCEPTIONAL- FOREVER DOOBIE BROTHERS! 💗🤘
This is my fave doobies tune by far....
🖤🥀🖤AMAZING JOB GUYS🖤🥀🖤✌☝️
The only treatment I will ever need!
Crank it Up All the Way...
Seen them 4X all great shows!!!!
The Doobies are Smokin!
just a great song
That bass though 🤯
Doctor Who?
+Tarif Tahmeed Dr. Teeth? lol just kidding.
Just listen to the Music.
Instead of The Doctor giving me Drugs, He prescribed Music. Therefore Music is The Doctor.
This live performance of The Doctor proves their place in the Hall.
Never knew John Oates was a member of the ever changing Doobie Brothers line up
John Oates was never a member of the Doobie Brothers.
Nobody in the Doobies looks like John Oates
hate doobie brothers ...
Then why are you here????
"abby vianzon,"
I will Pray for better days for you.
What a sad,sad life you must lead.
