The fact that he was 70+, the fact that it was Bruce’s show, the fact that he was the star regardless, the fact that 10s of thousands of people were still singing and rocking out to his song 40 years later, all that would be beyond anyone could hope for.

Bruce opened and played with Chuck way back in 1973. This performance sadly, Bruce has said was one of his least favorite. Direct quote from both Bruce and Little Steven, they didn't want to be there. Chuck and Jerry Lee fought backstage about who would play first. Chuck kept trying to change keys in the song, that's why Bruce was studying him so much. Still, love both Bruce and Chuck. Rock wouldn't be the same without either.

Deep down in Louisiana close to New Orleans
Way back up in the woods among the evergreens
There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood
Where lived a country boy named Johnny B. Goode
Who never ever learned to read or write so well
But he could play a guitar just like a-ringin' a bell
    Go, go
    Go Johnny, go, go
    Go Johnny, go, go
    Go Johnny, go, go
    Go Johnny, go, go
    Johnny B. Goode
He used to carry his guitar in a gunny sack
Go sit beneath the tree by the railroad track
Oh, the engineers would see him sitting in the shade
Strumming with the rhythm that the drivers made
The people passing by they would stop and say
"Oh my what that little country boy could play"
    Go, go
    Go Johnny, go, go
    Go Johnny, go, go
    Go Johnny, go, go
    Go Johnny, go, go
    Johnny B. Goode
His mother told him "someday you will be a man
And you will be the leader of a big old band
Many people coming from miles around
To hear you play your music when the sun go down
Maybe someday your name will be in lights
    Saying "Johnny B. Goode tonight"
    Go, go
    Go Johnny, go
    Go, go, go Johnny, go
    Go, go, go Johnny, go
    Go, go, go Johnny, go
    Go
    Johnny B. Goode

Bruce it's just not believing that he is playing with a real legend. That kind of respect it's just amazing.

Nicolás de la Paz Love your comment & you are so right! It is what I thought Nicolas! He looks at the extraordinary Chuck Barry with sheer awe & respect, backing up with the E Street Band, allowing “THE LEGEND” to take center stage! You can just tell by that “special look on Bruce’s face,” that he feels incredulous that’s he is in the stage with the legendary Chuck Barry!❤️

an honor to experience Mr Chuck Berry life in person!!
I had that honor, his last concert in germany he did in the capitol, my birth-town, Berlin......... it was mindblowing!! 🤯
The absolute best of the best concerts I had ever seen...... RIP Mr Berry, a legend, a pioneer, an inspiration!
-> what made this concert so unique and god damned perfect, was the opening band:
    "Fats Domino" ‼️‼️‼️
... there he was... sitting at the piano, fingers full of rings. A huge band of about 12 musicians.......to much for my unexperienced 16 years old mind (50 now!)......... 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯...... 😂😂😂a perfect day! A lifetime experience, I can tell you that

Holy crap, I am seeing this for the first time. Extraordinary, uplifting. Bruce knows he is in the presence of rock and roll royalty, never takes his eyes off Chuck. Chuck reciprocates, breaks into the duck walk, the crowd goes wild. Damn, wish I had been there.
