cody heel would mean we will need someone as good of a babyface as him, and i cant think of anyone who can replace him as of now
In my head, if Roman is supplanted by Solo, you could potentially see a story where heel Cody takes on face Roman. People were ready to cheer for Roman at the end. Though I would prefer a different foil, I think it would be a cool full circle moment.
Had the idea originally when Punk came back, and had he not gotten hurt it would have had more impact. Maybe that’s the way they go. Have Heyman align himself with Punk as HIS advisor (feeling abandoned by Roman, left to contend with Solo’s psychotic streak). Punk has the whole story that he was a fighting champion during his long reign as opposed to Roman. So Roman wants a shot? He will have to earn it, like he did to his opponents. Maybe Roman beats everyone, but gets outsmarted by Punk. You could have Punk keep the title away for 2 Manias, or 1 Mania and through the next Rumble at which point Roman wins it from him. Obviously there are a lot of factors to consider, but it’s fun to fantasy book.

Baby face champions need adversity. This is why Super Cena didn’t work. If Rollins didn’t get injured and sidetracked with the Bloodline his Reign would have turned him Heel because he was beating everyone and the reign was too long.
rollins was set 2 feud w/punk at this past year’s wrestlemania before both guys unfortunately got hurt, a heel seth would have definitely happened, they can always get back to it down the road

I think people might wanna slow down w/ the heel Cody stuff. I don’t think it would be as good as people think it could be. Simply the fact his connection with the fans is organic, people love him genuinely which means no matter what, he’s gonna get cheered and I don’t think he’ll enjoy that spot whatsoever either because he loves being the hero for the kids, etc. I don’t think he would last a month being a heel lmao

I'd have turned Cena heel in 2006. 2012 was a bit too late to turn him heel.
I want him to stay a baby face for a while, but would like to see him do a few heelish things during matches, like Hogan did as a baby face. However when he eventually starts getting boos (hopefully a long ways off) and the kids stop buying his merch, I'd love to see a slow transition to a heel that thinks that he is still a baby face.
At some point Cody will turn heel. The longer he waits the better itll be. Think Hogan turning heel.

Being the top merch guy (at least top 3) routinely, there would be a big loss for them I think. Heel Cody loses the kids. All those autograph sessions and everything he does publicly, that all goes away.
He would be great as a heel yes, but there is a big trade off there. Would need someone who could fill that role for WWE and its minimum a year out if it ever happens. He refused to go heel in AEW

Cody has to either turn heel or lose the title and chase again. That’s how this stuff works. Not everybody can be Hulk Hogan and be that Babyface champ that just hold onto the title for years at a time and it takes forever to get old.
