You don’t get points for picking someone up and slamming them. You typically get disqualified if the judges are being fair. 3rd Dan black belt Shodokan and I’ve been in many of these tournaments that were full contact with even less gear. That being said, the fella who did the slamming isn’t wearing a Gi so this may be some sort of hybrid competition, and he moves more like a wrestler than someone trained in karate or Taekwon-Do.

In fact, since the wrestler's striking was so garbage, I wouldn't be surprised if the Taekwondo guy won in an MMA match. The only reason he didn't defend the wrestling was because he's in a freaking Taekwondo match.

ASSUMING that the TKD guy was not trained to fall, then it was a dangerous situation and could still potentially broke his neck if he acted in panic and got into bad position when falling.
This is an AMA tournament, and what the other fighter did by lifting and throwing his opponent was illegal, so the opponent was angry and the fighter who made the mistake was summoned to the refereeing committee in preparation for his final expulsion because he violated the rules, a serious violation.

Then I quit to pursue a different sport and my head instructor started talking shit behind my back to my parents and admitted that they don't give a fuck about the kids they were teaching and that it was just a hobby of theirs for money. That really hurt my perception of TKD which I had done for 5 years up to that point. My Muay Thai instructors would never feel that way

I trained in both judo and taekwondo simultaneously. If you go to a judo match you're not allowed to kick people in the face even though that's encouraged in a taekwondo match. Similarly in a taekwondo match I wasn't allowed to put somebody in an armbar or throw them into the ground. Part of sportsmanship is following the rules for the competition that you are in and not cheating or risking injuring people just to win. Using an illegal technique is a great dishonor to yourself and the sport and all of your training and all of those who have gone before you. Martial arts has one of the lowest injury rates of any sport because people follow the rules for the type of competition that they are in. Winning by using an illegal technique is a disgrace. Anyone can win if they cheat.

Visit any gym and ask them if it's a good idea to join if you're a) Afraid of getting seriously hurt b) can the gym guarantee you won't become paralyzed as long you follow its rules You can't have it both ways it's impossible. I get it rules are there to make it as safe as possible but it's not unheard of to be seriously hurt in combat sports or to end up paralyzed especially in combat sports where emotions run high and the likelihood of people loosing their cool is more common than other sports. There are other sports with less risk of both is what I am saying and if those two things are the top of your list find another sport to practice. Much like being a cop, if you're worried about being shot don't become a police officer. The likelihood of you being shot is low but higher than other professions nonetheless. Getting seriously hurt in combat sports is as common as getting in a really bad car wreck if you're racing cars. Even better, if you're afraid of dying in traffic accident you shouldn't ride a motorcycle where it's way more likely that it'll be fatal than if you were in an automobile.

А ничего, что это ТХЕКВОНДО (написано даже на трибуне). Равносильно если на соревнованиях по борьбе кто-нибудь ногой с разворота в голову прикурит. Прогиб хороший, но в данном случае абсолютно недопустимый. Он мог покалечить бойца, привести к инвалидности.
Да это вообще не болезненный бросок. Ты приземляешься на шею/затылок, там удар очень равномерно распределяется по всей поверхности. Есть вероятность, что ты даже ничего себе не повредишь, если тебя бросят на асфальт.

Without that unexpected illegal move from Mr. MMA, looks like Mr. Taekwondo would have mopped the floor with him. Dude had skill. I'd have waited to let the judges handle the situation, but his anger was justified. That fight probably just got both of them disqualified.
As an ex. Pro wrestler i know the move he did and its a harsh move, can leave someone paralized, its called a torso throw and it is dangerous because your opponent falls on his upper spine (neck), plus your weight on him, he was entitled to be angry liike that, and you all making fun of his anger just don't understand the gravity/ danger of this move

I took Taekwondo many years ago and my sensei stated that when you lose (which I did in competition) you must bow to the person who defeated you with dignity and respect. That person taught you what your strengths and weaknesses were.

The banner behind the judges table reads AMA. Which means any martial arts. So that means all styles are allowed. Nothing illegal about it

Sadly, that's California law now. If you shoot at someone but miss them, you are not charged with a violent crime.

Then I quit to pursue a different sport and my head instructor started talking shit behind my back to my parents and admitted that they don't give a fuck about the kids they were teaching and that it was just a hobby of theirs for money. That really hurt my perception of TKD which I had done for 5 years up to that point. My Muay Thai instructors would never feel that way

I trained in both judo and taekwondo simultaneously. If you go to a judo match you're not allowed to kick people in the face even though that's encouraged in a taekwondo match. Similarly in a taekwondo match I wasn't allowed to put somebody in an armbar or throw them into the ground. Part of sportsmanship is following the rules for the competition that you are in and not cheating or risking injuring people just to win. Using an illegal technique is a great dishonor to yourself and the sport and all of your training and all of those who have gone before you. Martial arts has one of the lowest injury rates of any sport because people follow the rules for the type of competition that they are in. Winning by using an illegal technique is a disgrace. Anyone can win if they cheat.
So how come the mma guy was declared winner? mma superior to taekwondo!

You can't have it both ways it's impossible. I get it rules are there to make it as safe as possible but it's not unheard of to be seriously hurt in combat sports or to end up paralyzed especially in combat sports where emotions run high and the likelihood of people loosing their cool is more common than other sports. There are other sports with less risk of both is what I am saying and if those two things are the top of your list find another sport to practice. Much like being a cop, if you're worried about being shot don't become a police officer. The likelihood of you being shot is low but higher than other professions nonetheless. Getting seriously hurt in combat sports is as common as getting in a really bad car wreck if you're racing cars. Even better, if you're afraid of dying in traffic accident you shouldn't ride a motorcycle where it's way more likely that it'll be fatal than if you were in an automobile.

Пока держишь борца на расстоянии - выигрваешь, как только подпустил слишком близко - бросок и боль. Но НИКТО И НИКОГДА НЕ ДЁРГАЛСЯ И УЖ ТЕМ БОЛЕЕ НЕ ОБИЖАЛСЯ НА СОПЕРНИКА. А ничего, что это ТХЕКВОНДО (написано даже на трибуне). Равносильно если на соревнованиях по борьбе кто-нибудь ногой с разворота в голову прикурит. Прогиб хороший, но в данном случае абсолютно недопустимый. Он мог покалечить бойца, привести к инвалидности.
Да это вообще не болезненный бросок. Ты приземляешься на шею/затылок, там удар очень равномерно распределяется по всей поверхности. Есть вероятность, что ты даже ничего себе не повредишь, если тебя бросят на асфальт.

Pro wrestler i know the move he did and its a harsh move, can leave someone paralized, its called a torso throw and it is dangerous because your opponent falls on his upper spine (neck), plus your weight on him, he was entitled to be angry liike that, and you all making fun of his anger just don't understand the gravity/ danger of this move

I took Taekwondo many years ago and my sensei stated that when you lose (which I did in competition) you must bow to the person who defeated you with dignity and respect. That person taught you what your strengths and weaknesses were.
It's a shame your "sensei" didn't teach you skepticism, critical thinking and reasoning. It's a short on youtube someone made.
