She's not bored, she's focused, it's extremely hard piece of music, and she is playing it for over 6 minutes in one take, video is not edited. Look at smile of satisfaction at the end, when she knew she nailed it! It takes really long time even for experienced guitarist to learn song like this and put it into muscle memory.
People often saying "pure talent", but the true is that this is pure hard work, with is much more admirable!

It's massive amounts of talent AND hard work.
I have no talent, and couldn't play that if I practiced 24/7 for 30 years.
      BUT.
Without massive amounts of hard work, all her talent would be worthless too.

I totally agree with the talent doesn't make the final cut in the end of it all... I have talent but I hate to practice... I can't play like that now but if I practiced... who knows what i could do?

She went from the guitar being bigger than her to being bigger than the guitar. Just one of:
      ua-cam.com/video/iwoVfWTo2nU/v-deo.html
She left UA-cam because of comments her videos were fake, it is claimed.
Someone decided to play this recording through a guitar game Hero. The idea is to play the notes presented in the game at the proper time. A lightening strike means a miss, colour means a hit. I counted 12 misses, possibly a variation in the score. This is testimony to her timing and accuracy. To be clear, she is playing independently to the game's tempo.

Gentlemen, that 'bored' look is the epitome of being in the ZONE. Nothing else maters beyond what you're doing at that moment. If you noticed, for the most of the piece, she didn't even look at the fret broad.

Always the same with everyone: They start watching, then they giggle at the first riff, then it starts getting really quiet...shocked faces, glazed-over eyes, heads slowing shaking side to side in disbelief. All, by the way, completely appropriate. She's that good.

Yep. I was absolutely blown away when I first found her probably 7 or 8 years ago now. I know a friend that knows Eddie Van Halen and Eddie stated that Tina is absolutely insane the way she bends those strings. And Eddie made a living playing that thing.

Why is everybody talking about talent? This is real hard work combined with talent. But don't forget the work that has been put in.

    •  3 роки тому +3

Exactly. Hard work alone does not guarantee a virtuoso - that needs unimaginably immense amount of work over many years with an equal level of required natural talent.

Well sometimes hard work can't get you this Far if you don't have the talent. There are tons of guitarist who must have played and practiced a lot more than Tina but are no where hear her level. Not taking away her hardwork and the years of practice but how often do you see a 17 year old playing like that. Her talent is definitely one of a kind

She just plays her guitar! No theatrics, just quality! David Gilmour is much the same, when playing one of his iconic solos he just stands still on the stage, head down, often eyes closed pure emotion comes forth. Its' not necessary to throw your guitar around and make faces at the audience.

her emotion is the concentration she puts in the performance, see between 5.52 and 5.53 of this video the grimace she make in full concentration when her left hand slides quickly down the guitararm, there is no time in this piece for other emotions than the pure concentration of a faultless performance

Every body talks about her lack of emotion during her playing.after watching this about 50 times i think i have an answer for that.i think her conentration and her confidence in her abilities are utterly and totally complete. A musician friend told me that "guitar face"comes from the player having a way to release tension(think S.R.V.).Tinas' confidence and concentration is so complete she doesnt have any of that tension.by the way she was all of 17 yrs old when she did this.and of all the amazing things she did her age seems unbelievable.great reaction gents thank you

Is it even possible to play the third movement on a guitar, going note for note with the original score for the piano?
I don't think you can replicate every bit of it on a guitar, and I feel like I noticed certain left hand rhythmic sections that went missing in the translation from a piano to a guitar score. Like it's a limitation of the instrument itself.
There's a few places in the original score where I think you play four simultaneous notes across 3 octaves. A guitar only covers 3 octaves and I don't think it's possible without a another pair of hands, and maybe not even then.
At least that was my experience trying to play stuff written for the piano on highland bagpipes, which are quite a bit more limited at just a single octave.
It's been arranged for the guitar beautifully though.

Beethoven was very controversial and "heavy" in his time. He basically put an end to classical era and lead music into more free formed passionate romanticism. He would have loved an electric guitar. Well, he loved fortepiano, and basically was the first one who started massively write pieces to it, cause it had MUCH heavier sound than clavier. Moonlight sonata was for piano too.

According to an interview, she treated these solos sort of like video games. It was muscle memory after so much practice. She started playing guitar when she was 6. Her instructor(I think her brother) was Renaud Louis-Servais. I hear rumors she is putting all that amazing focus into university(law?).

Remember this, Beethoven (in the opinion of many - me included) is the first ever Metalhead!
He would have no problem at all listening to this!
And i´m not just saying this because i´m German! ;)
Also you have to see that Tina was 16 or 17 when she recorded that!
    That is massive talent!

Tina S. lives in France and has played guitar since she was small (6? I think?) When she hit 12 or 13 she switched from classical guitar to electric.
In this video she is 17. She dropped out of social media soon after, and that was about 3 years ago.
She has moved on to University; word is for a business degree.
To play at this level, you have to practice 8 hrs a day for months to pull this off as flawlessly as she does. Most professional classical musicians do.

giggles...Exceptional differences in someone professionally trained to be a "Master Guitarist"
(who can play anything, note for note, tone for tone, consistently every time) und someone
who has excelled in their music genre "only". She actually played many different parts of this
composition...und did it superbly. :-) Beethoven was quite rebellious...I think he would have
loved watching someone of this exceptional talent..."plug him in". :-)

To play like this, takes a great deal of time and dedication - PLUS (BIG PLUS!!) phenomenal talent. I bet she's basically, gifted, (photographic memory and really hi IQ ??). Anything she tries to do - she can do and does it extremely well. I love the way she uses the unique features of the guitar (which are not those of the piano) to embellish the music - bends up and down, harmonics, sympathetic string vibrations plus many others for which I don't know the name. I'm a pianist and have practiced this piece (a lot!) and believe me, it's difficult - but on the guitar - Wow - this good? never. PS & FYI - The second movement is MUCH easier. PPS - I'm really glad I don't play the guitar.

Hello there folks ! That amazing prodigy not only nailed it in speed but also didn't miss a single note.
Ludwig Van Beethoven himself would applause and bow to her with respect if he was around because the reason he did the third movement so complicated and demanding was to make sure his rivals couldn't get anywhere close to that level , in other words he was showing off his superiority towards other musicians of that era in Vienna , and this "kiddo" not only did that but she played the damn thing 25% faster . In music terms that is like light years away
