Just too close for me to declare a winner you guys are both winner’s with 2 of the baddest cars around in my book!!😉
I see this channel going places. Keep up the fire content 🔥👌🏻
Thank you! 🙌🏼🙏🏼
This comment surely aged well 😂
Hell yeah nice video 👌 loving the fly by view! Shows how hard they're pullin! 🔥 🔥 🔥
I appreciate it bro 👍🏼
Awsome comparison video! I wanted to see a video like this. I read on the forums that the m7 is better for roll racing because the 5th gear on a8. Your video proved it!
I appreciate it brother 👍🏼
Love this 👏🏾😌 Team Vette!!!
Excellent runs with excellent filming!!!! Stay tuned for the re runs once both cars get a little tweaking done before
💪🏼
Thanks for sharing, but my brain tapped out trying to figure out what it was that I should be seeing. Much clearer UFO footage from the pentagon recently than what I was watching here!
Lol the streets of Mexico can be pretty dark. The rerun is coming soon and it’ll be well illuminated. Thanks for watching
The gearing of the manual is better for rolls. Even without aero the manual would win. Sick runs 🔥
Thank you 🙏🏼. Was just talking about this with the A8 owner. They are going to rerun soon once the M7 gets tires and the A8 takes off the aero
@@ArcticZ1 Would love to see that..
Manual anways makes more power !
@@ArcticZ1 rerun still happening? I’m curious how my A8 17’ zo6 would match up against the m7
Great race. I would love to see the same race with equal aero packages. It's very obvious the A8 has an advantage down low but things are different around 125 MPH due to the M7 having better gearing at higher speeds. The A8 car got reeled in at higher speeds from a combination of the stage 2 aero and that tall 5th gear. I wonder which one had more impact? Can't wait for the rematch!!!!!!!
Coming soon! 👍🏼
the gearing had more impact for sure
Those cars are MOVING! Brave camera person haha
Very cool comparison
My brother has 2017 zl1 manual. The no lift shift makes manual a beast.
For sure 👍🏼
Mad respect to the manual!!!! In theory the auto vette should have won those races. Goes to show you that the man makes the car not the car the man.....
The guy can drive for sure!
Naw man, the gearing on the manual is better for rolls
@@PacificNorthwestR For sure
5th gear on the autos is very long, it took the manual z06 150+mph to pass the auto.
5th gear on the autos is very long, it took the manual z06 150+mph to pass the auto.
The same race that my two friends had, one with a stick and one with an automatic. The automatic was faster down low but the manual trans came by and the big end
Yeah man the M7’s have nasty top end
Damn! Flying 🚀
Absolutely!
Love torch red, I'm here from the corvette forums
I agree torch red is sick 🔥 welcome!
Impeccable shifting on the manual. The auto definitely wins more races on the street. That shows how skillful the driver was.
Agreed. The guy can row through the gears
Wow that stage 2 really made the difference.
I think the manual Z06 did no lift shift
Yes he was. No lift shift is awesome in those cars
@@ArcticZ1 He was not no lift shift. No lift shift has a distinctive sound between shift and he was definitely not. If he was the manual would have won by a better margin.
@@nabushdinosaure M7 driver said he was no lift shifting but thanks for your input. I verify with him
No lift shift will slow the car.
@@nabushdinosaure you can hear the revs rise when clutched...
Question for corvette experts: Why does the c7 not use a dual clutch transmission?
because real racecars have 3 pedals. its fun and its a skill! thats what racing is all about. not whose tranny shifts faster, but whose the better driver
Keepm coming

Well a little different story here! Now my 2019 Chevrolet Corvette C7 8 Speed Automatic Z06 1LZ is the lightest Z06 @ 3365 lbs. of (3) versions of the make. I had the 2016 C7 Z06 3LZ full track package Z07. 3635 lbs. Great model for tracking! You want Auto or 7 speed that's your choice . The 2LZ is an intermediate version. Now the 1LZ (Auto)version at a roll start of 35, 40 and even 45 mph to get maximum connection (No Paddle Shifting) say goodbye to any other factory stock vehicle next to you. I've done all of them out here in California Desert. Next I've raced a 1LZ manual 7 speed with a tune, air intake and procharged. The driver stated his C7 has 850hp and yes again he ended up in my rear view mirror. Great Half-Mile Car but not at the quarter mile. Lot of people stated you must of got a Wednesday Car? But for the cost I would do a 1LZ instead of the 3LZ. A 50K difference. Automatic is the only way! It's 2021.
All good points. My car is a 1lz as well because I wanted the lightest fastest (in a straight line) Z I could get
good action, seems like the aero package was playing a big roll on the top end.
Yes the manual definitely had longer legs. The auto car wants to remove the aero and rerun. Stay tuned 👍🏼
@@ArcticZ1 will do
More than stage 1 vs 2 it is more than the gearing of the manual is better. the 4th to 5th shift on the auto is bad...
@@nabushdinosaure I agree it’s like hitting a wall going into 5th
Manual transmission for the top end baby!.
Does this guy (manual Z06) has any channel , shifts like a pro.
Would like to see more races !
Close friend of mine I’ll try and talk him into making one lol regardless I’ll be posting more of his car soon
If I owned one I would choose the automatic version. I shift enough gears in my semi tractor truck and I just wanna come home and relax. 😊
great driver in the manual, and no surprise it’s pulling. once the auto hits 5th it falls off or something, from my experiences
Those auto's are impressive. For what I would want it for the auto probably wins. Can't think a single time I will be going over 125mph lol but seriously manuals are badass. If I ever owned one of these though the auto is making a compelling argument.
Both are awesome. I went with the auto myself lol
Auto Z06 beats manual on track pretty much every time because of shorter gearing and faster shifts. The advantage the manual has above 130mph in this video comes hardly ever into play even if it were real. I suspect it’s not ie with same aero the auto will stay ahead all the way to top speed. That’s what I have been told from a buddy in a German (no speed limit) corvette club. In Germany, they prefer the auto precisely because it pulls harder at high speeds. They tell me the manual takes “forever” to get to top speed because 6th and 7th gear are way too long. The big pluses for the manual are not speed but driver involvement and better cooling.
Both cars are going to rerun soon with the auto taking off the stage 2 aero. Good thing there is no speed limit in Mexico either lol 👍🏼
Was this in mexico (STX)?
Yes sir 🇲🇽
Nastyyyyy
Stick car ftw!!
The manual is flat foot shifting plus aero hurts you sometimes not helps on top speed runs.
Agreed
also the manuel has aprox..40 more h.powers..less parasitic loss..
So the manual vetted needed tires as it says in the description?lol
Yes they had seen better days lol
@@ArcticZ1 so if the manual had better tires this race would have been different too.
@@shawncartagena664 Agreed
I have a 2017 Z51
I think if either car was Arctic White that alone would have been good for 5 extra mph 😂😂
🤣
Stage 2 aero hurts top end even more keep that it mind. Also the person in the manual z06 sounds like they are power shifting which isn’t good for the clutch
Waiting on the auto to remove his aero and rerun.
Manual Z06 is no joke
In the right hands it’s a weapon
i think 140 is the max i'll ever go on the street. if you can't catch up by 140. it's gg
Yeah no point if you are several car lengths ahead. It gets interesting when it’s neck and neck tho lol
Who won?
The manual pulled both races top end
Once again the corvette wins!!!
Yeah the red one won lol
5th gear in auto is what hurts it
Agreed
Can't even see too dark
Manuals outrun autos with a good driver thats a fact.
Even if the manual driver is quick, there's too big of a difference. The auto trans vette must be underpowered.
Yeah it’s a pretty big difference top end
Auto beats it everytime
Autos are definitely consistent
Test
Impossible… I think the manual is tuned
It isn’t. The owner is a good friend of mine. The A8 says his stage 2 rear winglets slow him down a lot so we are setting up a rerun without them to see the difference.
@@ArcticZ1 when do you know more ?
@@SUBIESAMURAI07 I’d say in the next few weeks. Weather hasn’t been the greatest lately
Who buys an auto vette ... and even worse, it’s slower than the manual ... come on people, grow a pair ! These kind of sports cars should only be offered in manual for the true driving experience.
I agree with the driver experience being more pure with the manual. When highly modified (900+ whp) the auto is more practical. Especially if you are racing the car competitively where consistency is important. So really depends on what your goal with the car is.
@@ArcticZ1 Kept it 💯
Bring your 1LE to Sebring and my Z06 A8 will eat your lunch.
@@brianwilkins5673 😂
@@brianwilkins5673 take it easy there virgin ... your z06 drives itself.. my 1LE actually takes a skilled driver.
