Some day this car will be the most exotic and rare car with a manual transmission. At some point only a hand full of people can drive it adding to its uniqueness. Mine is also a Blue, manual C7.
Reasons to get 7 speed : 1. No rev limiter in neutral mode. 2. Rev match sounds damn good. 3. Last but not the least 'Yes a sports car has to be a MANual.
Got a bum knee don't have a choice. Dont miss all the shifting drama. C8 Corvette is coming to my dealer in the morning! So excited! First time seeing it in person!
I own a C7 Z06 manual and I love it but I’ve always been a manual guy. The fact that only 15% of the Z06 were manuals may make them more valuable in the future. I hope when the C8 Z06 comes out they will offer a manual as an option.
This will be a valuable piece, we suggest keeping it and also getting a C8, which will also hold high value, and allow you to continue being the coolest guy in the hood.
theres something about that one pop when the auto shifts..im hooked. I can get my manual fix in my peterbilt with 18 gears. bought my car with 8 miles and have 48k on it now. it is driven!
Well I'm certainly biased, owning a manual ZO6 Z07 basically identical to yours. iv driven the auto ZR1 ZO6 and grand sport. Il take the manual all day long
I have 2017 ZO6 drive it into the ground and never overheats, but I do know the older ones had issues and some of the newer ones but so far no issues with my car. I seriously tried my best to overheat it, ran car many times in 90 degree weather on road and on track and thrashed it over and over and just did fine.
C7 ZO6 Seven speed here! Totally, would not have an automatic C7Z! But, since you have one already, I wouldn’t trade yours for C7Z with a manual. I would just prepare for the DCT C8 at this point. I think to trade now would be a waste of money due to trade in value and the replacement motor. Just my 2 cents!

Get the 7 speed manual and drop off the C8 list until the C8 Z06 comes out. Wait and see if there are any problems with it. Then maybe a C8 Z06. Probably an automatic will be the only option. I have an automatic C7 Z06 and wish I could rev it and down shift to make more noise but I still love it.
I'm a fan of the fins!! Such a big difference from the C7 without them. I like manual but I'm fine either way. I like the DCT but it lacks passion and aggression. At least in the McLaren which is why I passed on buying one. Great video. Even though I don't usually buy a manual anymore I still say save the manuals. Just in case. Lol

Even though Manual isn’t as fast as auto. But I just feel so much more connected to the car after switching to manual z06. I am not a racer so having fun everyday is so much more important to me. Good thing my wife can drive manual.
Manuals are the only way to fly. My 16Z51 is a Manual by choice. I ordered it that way. The C8 dual clutch is OK, as it's a manual with electric clutch's. DCT's don't have torque converters.

Not if you want the highest performing transmission. There’s a reason the C8 does not have one. I track often (LS Fest Road Course Winner 2018), and simply drive my A8 in manual mode on track, or in the street if I’m having a little fun. I pick up 2 car lengths every straight when the manual guys have to clutch. No reason to do this unless you don’t drive it, and are looking for the investment value others describe, or you just like driving a manual. Just don’t place a bet against the guy next to you driving the A8, especially of it’s me! You can see this in my track videos at 615 Z06
Get the manual I bought a 19 m7 z06 just because I knew the c8 was going to be automatic only . I couldn't imagine anyone getting an auto in a sports car. The manual is more than half the fun of driving a car like that imo.
Automatic?!?! Never heard of her!!!! 😝😜😂😂😂 And I don’t care bout the quicker shifting automatics or dcts.... Interaction in these cars is what the driving experience is what driving a car of this caliber is all about!!!! Just my $.02!!!!
No ! Keep the Auto and install a Aftermarket Stall Converter ! Nothing under 3500 rpm stall. Believe me. With drag radials no manual will touch it from a Dig.

Manual is the way to go in a C7Z....I drove a manual C7 at spring mountain...Did drive an auto though in some of the training sessions we had to do....Actually the auto felt a little faster down low than the manual... Well, when the C8 hits the streets will have no choice but that's ok w me.....Dual clutch has to be awesome..
johnny double U Oh trust me, I tried to teach my wife but it was going to mess my clutch up. I’ve taught many people how to drive a stick, my wife just wasn’t one of them. 😔 I agree the manual is amazing for sure. I can’t wait to get my C8 with it’s dual clutch transmission! 😊

Hey, a family that shifts together, stays together. lol Whether it's an automatic or manual, it doesn't really matter. Then again, I taught my daughter how to drive a manual and she still turns better times, 3 out of 5 times, in the quarter than I do. I told her to change her ways or she's out of the will. 😉

Both are great. I live in the Bay Area and traffic is the main reason why autos are preferred.

Just bought a C7 z06 automatic. All my sport cars were Manuel. It gets tiring after a while I prefer the auto much more calm

Just curious as to why you are going to keep your automatic Z06 if you are getting a C8? Isn’t the C8 better in every way than an automatic Z06?
