Because you wanted to is enough. People act like not buying a stick makes you a bitch or something. Ridiculous. You wanted the auto, you got the auto. I'd have done the same thing. These autos shift so quickly now, they're faster than the older DCTs.
I'm the odd ball out. I still prefer a manual even in traffic. Not saying that it's better or worse that's just me. Also I've had remote starts on all of my manual cars. It can be done. Enjoy the Z06. That's one of my favorite cars. I do think the S5 is the ultimate daily driver but no comparison to a Z06.

No Wheel Drive 229 hand brake has to be applied, and you have to be in neutral.
No Wheel Drive 229 go aftermarket. Also I used to install that stuff for a living back in the day.
Dude, I'm with u on it. I'm getting a Blue Z06 Z07 . Auto is good enough wish they had put the 10 spd in from ZL1! But all good. In about a yr when C8 drops the C7 Z06 will be mine on the cheap!

I kind of agree with you cuz what if I get a manual Corvette let's pretend I have a a girl and then what if I try to put it in drive but I accidentally put it in reverse and I hit a car so that's going to be embarrassing
I bought a brand new C7 Z06 with an automatic it’s fast and sounds bad ass when I’m in the gas but any other time it bores me because I don’t feel connected to the car. I’m regretting my decision and should’ve bought the slower manual.

NJ ZGuy I think no.2 is the main reason you wanna dead the manual. You're tired of being made fun of for driving an automatic.
An automatic can never replace the feeling of a true manual so that "best of both worlds" argument isn't a very good one. Flicking paddles doesn't provide the same experience are rowing through gears.
LegendInThaMakin I've owned and driven cars with both and I've had the opportunity to drive cars with DTCs. DTCs *ARE* the best of both worlds IN MY OPINION. But I recognize that people love to argue over cars rather than enjoy them to the pint of absurdity. That happens to go beyond transmissions, make, model, etc.
Of course haters and trolls will ALWAYS find a reason to thow shade on something.
And as for you opinion on paddle shifters...well...GTR and owners of certain European supercars would probably disagree with you. 😆
I hear you...I came from a 5 speed Maxima, a 6 speed TL and then got a DCT M4...really sweated out that decision...beyond having more fun with the manual...it requires a bit of work daily driving in traffic...I don't miss that part...but I do miss rowing my own gears every now and then...paddle shifters are like a fake butt...even though they look good, everybody knows you're cheating...

I agree an auto in traffic as a daily driver, but it will never ever come close to the FUN factor for me anyways. Who cares if the auto is faster, what are you talking about a second or so. If your racing its a big deal, but just cruising chilling I think this car is way way fast enough.

There is a reason why all the le mans sports cars and high end supercars now are paddle shifted... Just faster and with both hands on the wheel. Even though this is not a "pdk", mine shifts very fast...I mean crazy, pound you in the back, fast. I have had 5 sports cars before my z06 including a c7 stingray and all were manual. I had to get past the cult mentality to give this a8 paddle shift a chance. The test drive did me in. I felt like I was driving a c7r or something over $250k in msrp. It was like a video game and never had that experience in the manual and I know how to drive em. All you manual guys out there, you really should get over your cult mindset. These a8 tranny's are sick in a 700hp super car. The launch control alone is worth it. With that said, I would still stick with the manual for the stingray and Grand sport though due to less power. But with this insane power, it just makes sense. Oh and I drive mine in manual paddle mode 90% of the time... And I'm addicted.

No Wheel Drive 229 true that. There’s plenty of German cars that is both has quality and speed. Autos are wonderful and they’re faster. Great choice!

Bro, you should really stop running your car engine for long periods of time without any movement. This might be the reason why your Audi S5 was burning up so much oil. Performance Cars needs lots air to keep the engine cool. Great Videos!!
I drove a 10 speed 18 wheeler through Atlanta daily through all 3 rush ours for 2 years. If the only upside for an automatic is easier in traffic, I’m gonna need a better excuse.

People who say auto for traffic are the ones who cant drive stick in traffic with out riding the clutch. My ZO6 vette is manual and driving it in traffic is easier to me
than auto.

No Wheel Drive 229 Now i learn driving stick in traffic downtown DC. So in traffic ill clutch in, give very little gas to get car moving then clutch out. Now all this motion is happening real fast. Manuel drivers always leaves the clutch engaged in traffic while giving car gas or to slow the car down. They do it with the clutch instead of disengaging it and using the brake and gas pedal for what its meant for.
Manuals are so obsolete these days. Mind you these auto transmissions are not even dual clutch, yet still walk you and you pull up.

Say what you will, but there can be no argument on this point: If you see a sports car with an automatic transmission, you're disappointed. Perhaps even judgmental. But if the car has a manual? That's cool.
