I have been using B3 100mg2/day also called flush niacin because it turns your face red combined with liquid garlic capsules plus gingko60 mg2/day for high b/p. b/p is much better than it was on lisinapryl. And yes, those 3 natural supplements do keep the blood vessels open if you also keep your weight down to what's considered to be healthy. It also keeps e.d. at bay. I've had type1, insulin dependent diabetes for 30 years and 10 months as of today. Give it a try, it works for me.

Excuse the delayed answer please, I've been super busy lately. The term"flush niacin" refers to straight Vitamin B3. It's sometimes called flush niacin because it expands the blood vessels and in your face it causes a reddening of the face. Not to be confused with niacinamide which is synthetic B3 Niacinamide will not cause the facial flush. There you go.

I combine Niacin (,in the form of inositol Nicotinate 500 mg), Chromium picolinate 200 mcg, and bitter Melon capsules, and I able to control blood sugar level from 191, 155, and this afternoon 114. Your information is really helpful. During that time (this week) I reduce my Metformin doses, 500 mg 3x a day to once, and still have BS level 114.
This is the best way ever I took compared to my previous experience in trying to reverse diabetes.
To challenge this combination, I take little more white rice and add small amount of sugar (one flat the spoon) to my coffe. The combination win. I got 114 BS level this afternoon. Many thanks for your excellent and helpful information. GBU

Another side effect of niacin is rashes. A brown rash that can be in the groin area, around the waist, in the arm pits, and on the trunk areas of your body. I was misdiagnosed and mistreated for these rashes for several weeks with antifungal athletes food creams. Finally a new doctor immediately identified these rashes as a side effect of the niacin I was taking. Stopped the niacin, the rashes stopped as well. Just be aware.
Oh, and the niacin never lowered my cholesterol to be therapeutic.

Niacin helps lower cholesterol, but dose help with BPH, BPH has a number of things that contribute, calcium build up is one of the main ones, that's why it is most often seen in old guys 45 and old, the causation effect is time. Products that can soften and break down the calcium build up are going to be more effective. Liquid Iodine with some other ingredients including palmagranite, and kelp can break down the deposits.

@@kobalt77 you should try the brand by NOW they have a 500mg that is time released. So you can start out with a higher amount 250-500mgs. I had started out breaking them in half and using half a tablet in the morning with breakfast and the other half at night with dinner. Then i started using another half at lunch. And then a full tablet (500mg) twice a day and then later another full one with lunch. Their time released is not flush free but is a lot milder than regular niacin but will still cause a flush if you start out with too much. And using niacin with a meal helps lessen any flush also. You can get use to and up the dosage fairly quickly in a couple days. And keep increasing the dosage about every 3 days until you get to where you want to be. 1500-2000 is a good amount to try to get to.
