Always great information Dr. Berg, thank you. I was raised in Somalia, located in East Africa, and have fond memories of my grandmother's unique remedy for treating colds and flu. Whenever I had a congested nose, she would prepare a concoction of boiling water infused with a pinch of cardamom, a generous amount of grated ginger, and cloves, and a stick of cinnamon. She would then have me inhale the aromatic steam, draping a towel over my head to trap the vapors. Afterward, I would drink plenty of this warm, spiced liquid. Optionally, a slice of lime could be added for extra flavor. This traditional treatment always seemed miraculous in alleviating symptoms, and I continue to use it for both myself and my children, finding it remarkably effective.

Making clove water is simple and does the job just as well if not better than chewing. Add a quarter of a cup of cloves to 32oz bottle of water. Leave over night. The longer you leave the cloves in water the stronger the taste will be. Use it as a mouth wash and you could take glass shots. If you have congestion/mucus in the lungs and a bad cough taking shots will help you not only with breathing but it'll help remove mucus and allivate/get rid of the cough. You'll also notice improved lower blood pressure. If you have a toothache make a strong---strong clove water-the longer you leave the cloves in water the stronger eugenol. Take a nice sip and swish if around the mouth to numb and eliminate the pain. Hope this helps. It has for me and my mom. ❤

Be caredul with swallowing cloves if you suffer from Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar levels). But if you have diabetes, the eugenol in cloves can help lower blood glucose counts to safe levels. Also don't overdo it. Eating or exposure to a large amount can cause tissue injury and a syndrome of acute onset of seizures, damage to the liver and kidneys, and coma. Clove may interfere with the body's ability to clot blood and may increase bleeding risk. For this reason, people taking blood thinners, such as warfarin, should avoid consuming cloves and since they may impact bleeding risk, you should also avoid taking clove supplements prior to surgeries.

    Hello,
I am currently on day 3 of my water fasting journey, and my ketone levels, as measured by True Plus Ketone test strips, are in the 80-160 range (purple level). This is the third time I’ve attempted prolonged water fasting within the last three months, as I aim to do it once a month. Typically, it has taken me four days of fasting to reach this ketone level, but this time I've noticed a difference.
During this water fast, I’ve been chewing 1-2 cloves per day, which has helped reduce hunger, improved my energy levels, and kept my mouth from becoming dry. Concerned about the potential impact of consuming cloves during fasting, I did some research and I found Dr. Eric Berg 's video that reassured me that cloves are amazing spices for our bodies.

I had a tooth ache once and I was out of town and couldn't see my dentist. I didn't want to take a pain killer. I read online that clove oil was a natural analgesic. So I went to a local health food store and bought a bottle of organic clove oil and used a cotton swab to apply it around the tooth and it stopped hurting. After watching this video, I bought a bottle of Frontier Co-Op's organic whole cloves and I chew on one every night and swallow it. Frontier Co-Op does not irradiate their products and they do not use Ethylene Oxide (ETO). ETO is used as a pesticide and a sterilizing agent and has been linked to cancer. It is commonly used in the spice industry.

Coming from Zanzibar, where their Product was cloves, we are used to chewing cloves easily.
Clove oil was always in our house and I remember once the bottle broke by mistake, then we had ONLY Glass Bottles, wow! It sure has a strong but lovely smell.
Took days to get the smell off!
On friend’s advice, I started adding 2 cloves in my tea as I boil in the morning; I found much relief in knees as they were very painful and hard to walk.
My heart is NOT Agreeing on knee replacement.
But now I will start to chew and see if more improvements.

He would give us, his grandkids, to chew on them and to this day, every time I chew on one, I am 7yo-14yo, happy like a sunshine, chewing on one. Happiest childhood memories! RIP Papá ❤

Between applying Haritaki powder to gums before bed, using inexpensive homeopathic remedies as needed (hekla lava especially, but hepar sulphur is also great), and tonguing ground clove powder on any affected areas (after flossing, brushing with Vitamyr, and pink Himalayan salt rinse - in that order -after ALL meals)… abscesses and pain from damaged teeth and gums stopped completely within a day.
