@@meehdrescher you’re wrong at this point, UA-cam compression is pretty destructive so you’ll definitely can notice difference even between 1440p and 2160p on your 1080p screen. UA-cam showing different options for video but every of them are highly compressed so difference is obvious.

This isn't just a racing game, the enviroment makes for an amazing piece of art, i still remember in the first Alien World track, wich is in Jupiters moon Europa where the track goes UNDERWATER then straght to SPACE, i was in awe that a racing game get some pretty awesome concept like this quite right and manage to deliver something so amazing. The sound track are pure gold some tracks are just a trance, while others mix dubstep with guitars. One of the most beautiful games i ever played.
I am sooooooo happy to see more people find this game, cuz I love Redout and Redout 2 for 2 things: its sense of supersonic speed, and its superb soundtrack (c'mon, this is the only racing game I know using Psytrance for racing, and it's super effective!)

Redout was insanely fun, especially in VR, so I'm not surprised that Redout 2 is impressive. I wish it reflected the changes in your ship stats from your powerups, but my only real problem with Redout was that nearly every event, car color set, and track is DLC. Oh, and it needed an Epic account. I really hope that won't be true for the sequel.
@@talamidori2115 When I first installed Redout years ago, it wouldn't go past that screen unless it connected to Epic. It would just freeze or hang. Maybe that was a bug they corrected, but for me, at the time, it was a requirement.
I've seen plenty of game footage of people already embarassing the nightmare difficulty AI and, while you may not be playing at that difficulty level as there's no way you're keeping such a solid lead, you still take the cake for being just _so clean._
I played the first one for a period a few years ago and I remember it was so fast that I eventually stopped halfway through the campaign, because at some point I just couldn't keep up anymore... Nowadays I play mostly F1, lol
As a die-hard F-Zero fan, I'm honestly convinced about getting this game now. Update: I bought the game on Friday, been playing it all weekend and already loving the rush and sense of extreme high speeds it gives you!
If you want a game that'll last you a while, THIS is THE game to get this year! this game is incredible in terms of content and driving physics, but with a somewhat different control method which does take time to get used to as well, but feels incredibly fun to master.
Played other old anti-gravity racing games before and some had controls that felt strange; too steep turning etc. This one looks perfect! Another racing game to my wishlist!
It's EXTREMELY well balanced and if you ever have any struggles getting used to the controls. There's assists that automatically calibrate for you early in the game that you can adjust however you like!
I'm legit struggling to collect my jaw from the ground, the game itself looks insane, but the way you handle your racer feels like you've mastered the game even before its development started 🤯
Don is great, but just FYI there is full auto-assist controls so you can have the game take care of some controls for you. Good for people who are new to racing games, or people who are missing fingers etc.
I hope they eventually bring some of the locations from the first game, I feel like Neptune was more interesting than Black Hole from what I've seen, and there's some really neat places that didn't come at all like Sequoia and that exoplanet with the hard to remember name

Having lots of fun with this game but either no one is playing, or the online is just not working. Takes an hour to find a 1v1 race. Hopefully the "coming soon" ranked mode will offer a solid online game
This game looks gorgeous. Redout 1 was already a looker but this looks so good, both at a stand still and Mach 1. It's a shame your gameplay didn't feature the OST, though I understand why, if it's copyrighted. RO1's OST was just AMAZING. I put it on the level of something like Tekken 7, or Wipeout HD Fury in terms of its quality
I really wanted to feature the OST, especially as it was one of my favourite things about the game. The more intense the race and the faster you go, the more insane the music became. It really adds to the experience unlike almost every other game I've played. Copyright is a creative block.. Hate not being able to add the soundtrack.
For what it's worth IMO the music-less gameplay segments came out really well, they're very "in the zone" and highlight the nice improvements to audio - which was kind of dominated by a "wind rushing" sound in the first game. Love the new engine sounds, reminds me of Elite Dangerous. Cool stuff!
This is kind of like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, if you've ever thought of playing the game. It's a bit more my style, I like a rollercoaster ride. Certainly better than FH5 any day. Have fun and don't lose control.
I think I know what you mean, especially on Tartarus Mines... Not so much underwater tho I'll admit. The Mines was a personal hit & miss area for me. I either get a good rhythm going or I just lose it completely.
@@vividpath1089 yeaahh, fortunately there's only two tracks that have the problem and it looks like you found them both. Slow down at the entrance and push you ship into the ground while accelerating. That'll help!
It's fun but I preferred 1's shorter but more distinct tracks and the freedom to unlock any vehicle you want in any order rather than 2's super strict campaign progression.
It's not so much a review.. More of a, this is what the game looks like and here's gameplay. It's extremely rare I create sponsored videos, this is the first one I've done in 2 years. I'll only play it and create content if I genuinely enjoy it :) This game really is pretty dam good.
It's superb.. It's honestly one of the best features within the game. It's purely dynamic. The faster you go the more mental it becomes, changes pitch when you're in midair, cuts of and glitches when you crash, It's really good. I just couldn't feature it for copyright reasons. :(

Fun alternate history - Imagine it's the 1990s and -this^ is the game that comes out as WipEout on the PS1. Nintendo (and everyone else) would have been like OH SHIIIT.
One thing that's severely lacking right off the bat are the amount whooshing sounds that play when you pass structures. They should play like 10-20x more frequently than they do and should also be louder imo. SplitSecond is game that comes to mind as one that has done whooshing extreeemely well. Just something to consider for the next release Definitely gonna pick this up though
I played the first Redout, but really wan't a fan of the Controlls and stopped playing because of it. The Gamefeel, Soundesign, Tracks, Cars, and so on are all very good though.

Redout 2 does not need an epic account, however you can link steam and epic accounts to crossplay between the services.

There's a "U" shaped part of the track that bounces you very easily. I'm about 80% sure it's a glitch if that info helps

The Campaign progression is pretty strict, I wish we could've unlocked what we wanted first, that seems much better.
