**SOME THINGS I GOT WRONG**
- You CAN progress playlists with your friends. Both players need to "activate" the container for the playlist and then you will both get progression.
- Game is NOT FULL CROSS PLATFORM. It’s match-made cross play in The Grand Races and Demolition Royale. You CANNOT invite you friends from another platform to your crew/party

Another thing I don't like about the game. The ghost cars. Total distraction for me. I can't even tell if it's a ghost or another player. And given my track record, I try to avoid hitting other players.
@blankface650 needs to be done better that's all. While it does make the map look more lively since there aren't any people on the streets, I just don't like how it is now.

nobody else hates the way the cpu drivers in racers are? they. just drive right into you like your not even there the same way it is in FH5. they stick to their driving line and ram you out of the way. And the one driver miles ahead of the pack? like wtf is he doing up there. Just a motivation killer. Passing 6 people means nothing if I need to catch upto cracky the space driver.

bro i noticed the same exact thing. It's weird because NFS Heat, TC1, and TC2 do it too, and at this point my brain just accepted that AI racers will always follow this odd secret formula of Try-hard & the Laggers
Nfs unbound was the worst about it if you didn't play on the easiest difficulty you had the one car that is always a mile ahead from the start

I feel like they made us unable to see the full map to make the map seem "bigger".
I played the beta and they had me take a survey of the game. I voted that I HATED the ghost cars, and it's disappointing to see them in the full game.
I also dislike that we still have to individually delete each part. Can't there be a filter or something that allows us to delete all green parts, etc?
The best thing to do is fill your inventory up and then manage your parts from your mailbox. This allows you to delete all blue or all green etc. your welcome!
This is what I discussed with them through chat , don't know if they listen to the community I am sure not , why wasting time on looting id rather pay for purchasing parts
They should add a FH5 like upgrade system man I hate games that loot/luck to be able to progress even if they make it a little expensive to upgrade car and different setups for the same car like add more handing but lose top speed and stuff like that and they have to make it like FH5 events 1990 Italians cars only and stuff like that and make it bigger party size man 4 ppl is not enough I was hoping at least 10 in a crew cuz it’s me and 8 friends 😢😢 overall they have to take things from FH5 even if ppl don’t like it just to make it competitive if not better
It's not quite as bad if you disable press and hold to confirm in the accessibility options. But yeah seems egregious considering how hated the inventory was in the crew 2
The beta felt better to me than the actual game. Thankfully they offered a trial, because it is just not hitting for me for some reason. The store is disgusting to me, and locking my pc to 60fps is ridiculous, and it's not even stable. I am going from 60-59 constantly.
You know, driving for about 10KM to a next race, I thought about those 1hr-2hr long races in the first crew and how it really felt like ur driving across the country. The landmarks, locations (especially the salt plains. I loved that at night. Really feels like a long lonely road trip) and story just made the crew 1 so good for me.
If they apply motorfests physics and sounds to the original The Crew, damn would that be amazing.
That's what I loved about 1 and 2 and I wouldn't play this game if someone gave it to me.
@motorcyclestig8539 That's uh.. weird. Let's not pretend Motorfest isn't a direct massive improvement over Crew 1 and Crew 2 in terms of gameplay / graphics / content. Crew 2 is a dated granny. Get over it. 😂
@asmr-sensei the crew only had 2 things going for it the big map and the flying and boats. The flying looks horrible, the boating looks different and the map is small as hell. Uh that's weird lol btw the car list is horrible 🤣
Crew 2 was trash. I couldn’t even finish it… motor fest is great
@donkalinga3059 the crew motorfest is trash The crew motorfest has no landmarks, no dirt bike tracks, no hovercrafts and no monster truck parks and horrible online play and a small boring map
A couple things I want to add about the good side are little details like when you are going 35-50 mph your character will stick their arm out the window and cruise, sometimes your character will adjust their mirror and I even seen a comment that said the radiator fans were moving on their car(I forget the car). Another good thing is Night time is actually dark in unlit areas and headlights actually work. And lastly the gearshift sounds are absolutely amazing. And for the people that hated the crew 2 handling well cars actually have weight now and every car feels unique in its driving and handling
EDIT: I just found out your high beams will come on in darker areas and turn off when around lights, neighborhoods and other lit areas at night

One more hate point: World is really beautiful and they put a lot of time into it. But it's completely dead. I mean no animals running around, no people on the streets... Remember first Crew game?

Agree the world is nice but runs like ass.
You can progress playlists with your crew members but they have to activate the playlist first for themselves. After they did that you can play the playlists together and the progress will be counted for the crew leader aswell as for the member.
Facts other people complain about shit that they don't even know to use lol like you can use your own car instead of the loaned one and you can progress w your crew members lol 😂🤦♂️
The loan vehicle thing for events is a deal breaker for me. I don't see the point of playing if I can't use my own car and grind until I can upgrade the performance or buy something faster to progress as races get faster / more technical.

Same for me. I was stuck between getting PD3 or TC:Motorfest or both. Tried the 5 hour trial and while the game is good i might just sub to Ubi+ and play it until i get bored, i dont find it worth full price
I actualy tried to buy the propper cars in the games store but they are still locked for another 28 days. After that you can buy them before a race
This is the worst part for me too. The new Forza has me seriously considering buying an Xbox lol. I just want a car game where you start in a junker and slowly earn money to upgrade and eventually buy more cars

Yep, been having this problem trying to play with my friend, it’s been a problem since the beta and it’s pretty annoying that it hasn’t been fixed
i had this problem too, couldnt find a solution anywhere, but i found a fix. just start a event / race together then leave after 1 race and then you will spawn in the same lobby without a problem

I can't find my friend in free roam or race with them sometimes I can wth the grand race and demolition sometimes
My personal main complaints is that your always forced to use loaner cars when you do the playlists for the first time, it kinda removes the feeling of building up your own car and more earning the wins, and the nitpick is that we still cant do any form of stance tuning after so long... and no new rims either, and some cars dont even have rims to equip, the R35 being the weird and odd one there. But it annoys me alot when you build a great car but it sits like a monster truck

I think the wheels overall are not that bad but i would like some new ones. My problem is that you can't paint Individual rim parts like forza/nfs and your only finish option is chrome.
The whole press instead of hold mechanic i had no idea about and now i do so thank you for that. Also that would be sick if they use other islands for expansion. It would be fun to fly/boat between them. I'd like if they'd add community races back too
Militia, there is an option in the game where you can turn the airplane controls to the way it was in TC2. When you first play the game and fly it’s at a point where you can’t do rolls or loops. It’s just a turn left and turn right. I forget what setting it is, but if you turn it off it will allow the plane to control like on TC2. I had the same complaint during the testing but I figured they’re had to be an option to fix it.
I hate how you cannot see a players name next to you or on the map. I miss being able to find out names so i can invite to parties or befriend people. I cannot do that anymore.
This ain't Forza where the whole world is filled with Drivatars
one thing that still bugs me is the mirror, even though is just a small problem. Idk why they can't implements something simple like that where every racing games nowadays have that feature, is just defeats the purpose of cockpit camera for me, i don't know maybe i'm just nitpicking things.
Playing through nfs: U2 and Tokyo Xtreme Racer 0, Racer 3, and Drift 2. They all have rear view mirrors 🪞 and those games are old.
@@Raiugabe yea just put a rear view screen like when we look behind with our right joystick on top of the mirror frame, doesn't need a rocket science to do that. They can lower the resolution of it just a bit. If they can make a water puddle on the road have a crystal clear reflection, why can't the mirror have it?
It's designed for the Xbox One (the one from 2013) game, so that'll be why
I love the game, but a thing that I hate is at the beginning of a playlist, some of them needs you to buy a car, but you don't use it in the playlist
Hey man, I really appreciate this impressions video, it's the first one I've seen that touches on the differences between this game and The Crew 2. I have a couple of questions:
1. I heard you can import your car selection from the Crew 2. Is this optional? Have you done it? Do you feel that this hurts the progression of the game?
2.Can you select the weather in the open world sections? How does the rain and snow look?
3. It was hard to tell from the video, but are there any pedestrians? Also regarding the ghost cars, can you turn them off? Can you select the density of the traffic?
4. Something I didn't quite understand is something about the races. As a solo player, my only options for races are the playlists? Can I take my own personal cars for race tracks? Are there any tournaments of some kind?
No you cannot turn the ghost cars off. You also cannot change the weather. Nor can you change the density. I'm not quite sure about your last question though
First thanks! now answers:
1. You can import TC2 cars whenever you'd like. I chose not to in the beginning to see what it felt like. Honestly, the only reason to import would be to compete in the Summits/Grand Races straight away. If you're only concern is the PVE progression then no I dont think importing hurts you at all. The entire PVE content is done with loaner cars.
2. You cannot select it in the open world. You can select it in the photomode and kinda select it in the custom races.
3. No Peds, No traffic adjustment options.
4. Playlists have to be completed in order to unlock the ability to race those races at will with any car. A playlist is somewhere between 7-10 races and it is its own "experience" so they tailor make it with cars that fit the experience. After you've completed it, the game rewards you with a car and then allows you to play those races on your own with any car you'd like including cars that do not fit that race's class. Some of the playlists are "championships" where you accumulate points over the course of the playlist.

One of my biggest gripe’s about this game is the fact that you can’t change the finish of your rims. It’s always a chrome. But it seems I’m the only one with this pet peeve 😂 also no r32?!? Cmon Ubisoft!! Great game otherwise. I’ve had a blast with all the playlists I’ve played so far. I know that a lot of people don’t like that because you don’t use your own car, however I absolutely love it. It keep’s everything fresh.
yeah idk why we can have like 7 different paint finishes but only 1 rim finish, also need alott more rims, current ones are trash

Car sounds are hands down the best ive ever heard and the most CONSISTENTLY good in any racing game
I myself was hoping that the side challenges like Salom & Escape being improved by having traffic being ghosted. Mostly just salom cause its quite annoying esspically on some of the tigher / cliffedge in motorfest. other than this I been having fun with motorfest, perhaps more than the crew 2
One of my main problems is that customisation is a bit lacking with underglows and the other things in the 'vanity' category. Not only are the choices slim but also mostly timed and locked behind real money.
I think it should be addressed because I should be able to earn any of the vanity items through progression.
I came into it a fan of the crew and expected it to be almost identical to FH5 (it’s pretty close), but I was pleasantly surprised and definitely impressed with this game as a whole. It’s like NFS, The Crew, and Forza had a baby and I’m having a hell of a time. Still some room for improvement but overall extremely fun!
I don't like that you can't mess the car up like in Wreckfest. Most trees shouldn't move either.
I personally hate the fact that the S550 mustang sounds so quiet

Running on a 4080, playing on an ultrawide monitor, the game runs good until I start the 28 player races, then it bogs down to 40 FPS. What I despise the most is that its capped at 60 FPS. It seems odd how we still have to have these low framerate limits, especially if its tied to physics as the previous games were. Probably has to do with them supporting the crummy older consoles as well. I know shareholders push for it to increase sales, but at this point its holding innovation back.
Using a 4080 here too. I was worried that I might have to upgrade my CPU. The game is running at 4k, everything on ultra at 60fps. But out of nowhere it drops to 45 to 50fps but actually it feels much slower than that. The funny thing is GPU usage is 65% max when that happens. Thankfully it's not a CPU issue, hope they fix this soon.
@@FelipePeletti I agree. Hopefully updates fix the drops. It does feel much slower than 40-45 that it displays. It feels like it drops down to 20-25 FPS. Everywhere else, like normal playlists and open world it holds at 60 FPS on max settings no issues.
Glad i got this on ps5. My 3080 wouldve been doomed. Plus it looks good on my oled
Hmm weird im on 1440p UW with a 3080 everything ultra and it never really drops from 60 on driver 536.23, a stable 60 even in the grand races

I hate how it constantly crashed during the start up and several times during the game and also caused my PS4 desktop to crash several times too! I also hate how the planes handle like there's a giant hand constantly pushing them to the left but I do like that they've finally added the F8-F Bearcat, but no Sea Fury tho.

So far I've only experienced big frame drops every so often and thankfully it's running way better on PC than the beta did. Still have time on the trial so I'll probably use that up before buying the game. Definitely not a fan of barely using your own vehicles at the start of the game but willing to let the game play out more.

@@Okejordi It was only during the intro but it was no where near as bad as the beta. Haven't had any stutters since so it's running pretty smooth.

The plane physics can be changed back to how they were in TC2. Just like traction control, abs and stability control, it’s just an assist that can be turned off.

One thing that irks me is that you have to complete 10 playlists before you can really fast travel in this game. I don’t like having to drive to each event individually is it becomes a chore especially when each playlist is 7-9 events long.
I played the 5 hour trial and the ghost racers were literally the thing that made me decide not to buy (among other things). I'm just trying to go for a chill drive, and there's these jumpscare mobs flying at me every 20 seconds and it is just confusing and irritating

My biggest gripe is the massive marketing of cross-play, yet you can't even invite Ubisoft friends from other platforms for co-op. What's the point? No one actually cares if they match-make into a random Grand Race with other platforms, do they? I get this keeps the races full, but a massive missed opportunity not allowing for cross-play co-op. Massive thumbs down for that point.
Correction: You can progress while in a Crew both players need to select X to start the event in solo whilst in a crew! You'll stay connected!

You are right. All players must activate the Playlist for all crew members to advance the Playlist!
I felt the opposite about planes. Assist off feels really awkward and looks janky. Assist feels pretty good. Cars i got everything turned off and do sequential though

Yeah one of the few things I really dislike about the game is that first time you do a playlist, you will be in loaner vehicles. It doesn't feel rewarding or worth it to buy a new car and customize it if you can't even use them. It should just be the same system from TC2. For example, if you play a hypercar race you can choose a hypercar from your collection to play the race with.
I assume the reason they made the playlists like this is because everybody then races with the exact same car and the leaderboards can be more reflective of skill and racing lines, but it is still stupid to me.
PLEASE give us the option to turn A.i ghosts off in free roam. I understand they want it to feel lively, but it’s INSANELY distracting at best…. I don’t appreciate A.I ghosts speeding head on into my lane.
The current state of free roam COOP is also broken. My friend and I are disappearing on each others screens constantly. It becomes a little better after we finish an event together, but even then it’s spotty.
12:04 regarding COOP, this is very interesting because my friend and I were able get our own playlist progression while doing these events together. I guess this further proves that COOP is a little busted right now ?
One thing I hate the most about The Crew Motorfest is that they don't sell it on steam.
The only thing I really hate about the game is that it keeps crashing on me. I have PS4 so I don't know if that's the reason, or if it's because it's been early access. Idk but it's really annoying, and happens more often if I stream

Motorbikes
Drift tracks
Weather effects
Classic car experience
Drag racing
cockpit view animations
It is still a way better game than the crew 2 :P
Now the things that are unpleasant to me (From the FH player view:
Colors, unrealistic mess of a pallet.
Even more cringy atmosphere than in FH
Plastic feel to graphics, cars, people
Unbalanced feel of the car, you never know if you can take a corner and how to make it feel in control
The cold start of the car is always weird and unrealistic.
Boosted cars sound with too much bass which really ruins the distinction between the engine types.
Shifting sound
Floating GPS
Damn blurred mirrors in the cockpit view!
Can we have horizon? No, we have horizon at home

They need to add the flames back for the pop and bangs , we have the sound but not the visual , crew 2 had it so they can easily fix it with an update

@@mich3ealthey do that with a ecu and exhaust tune. You upgrade cars in the game you don't tune them besides the pro settings
The thing i dont like is that i will inevitably compare it to TDU1 and 2 because of the map, but its like SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than a game thats over 15 years old
The crew 2 had a feature where you could switch your car parts onto another car easily and I’d like to see that same feature in this game just to make it easier for the summit
Wow the response on this video is crazy, but I understand why, your a great UA-camr that gets why we all play racing games, your opinions are more than certified, im still on the fence about this game but as it expands and also drops in price I’ll end up getting it
I appreciate the love, thank you! Your patience with buying the game is admirable lol. I wouldnt be able to wait. That being said. it feels like the hardcore Crew community will be with this game for a while so no rush. pick it up when you want to.
I think the biggest problem is the absolutely zero sense of speed... I mean you go from 100 kmph to 300 kmph and you don't feel anything
nil the thing I miss the most from the crew 2 is what you said at the end. 12am half asleep, me and 3 of my friends would boot up the new york race and just play it since it was something nice to do. the closest thing they have in this game is the last race of the liberty playlist, but even then it makes you use 3 or two different cars and its only like 16 minutes long. (I also really miss the drifting from the crew 2)
Turn off the flight assist in the settings menu and it’ll revert back to the crew two handling…mostly.
That aside, I HATE the addition of wind in the airplane and boating events. These events are already a throw away, almost forced because that’s the Crew’s “thing” is having land, sea and air. We didn’t need a new challenge, we needed them to handle better and be more fun. Now that fast travel is unlocked and I’m done with that air / sea playlist, I won’t use any of my boats or planes until a summit requires me to.
They completely ruined the Touring bikes as well 💀
Small tip for planes: The default camera angle is "static" for some reason. If you tab over to "dynamic" camera angle it completely changes the feel of it. Static keeps the camera parallel with the ground and the plane rotates. Dynamic let's the camera roll with the plane like in 99% of flying games.

Great video, I agree with all the points... except the plane handling thoughts. It's so crazy because I've heard both sides of the argument and they're intriguingly polar. Some think Motorfest's new plane system is a huge upgrade, and others say it's atrocious.
in my opinion TC2's plane physics were very flat and unengagingly stiff, but in motorfest i've become SO much more flexible and agile while in my Harmon Rocket HRIII. I'm able to do low-altitude outer loops like crazy now because of how much more controllable the planes are. Also, Motorfest is more tolerant when you crash your plane, and it doesn't immediately respawn you in the air if you hit a tree. I like that a lot.
Yeah but it makes no sense for the standard controls to only allow you to turn left or right. Thats not how plane physics work at all. I'm just glad you can change it in the settings to the controls from TC2
@donutwithsprinklez tbf the game asks you right at the start if you want to use the simplified handling or not. Theres not really anything to complain about, it doesn't force you to use it
I 100% agree with the ghost cars, I like to turn off all UI and cruise and it's reallyyy annoying. When your cruising at 55 and a group of cars speed by all dumb 🤣
I hate not being able to lower your cars, the wheels, no exhaust flames, the drift handling, the customization, and the lack of e chassis bmws
I 100% agree with everything you said, one thing that really annoys me is that when you change the difficulty for a race by shutting off abs or traction control, once you're done with the race the changed settings carry over to free drive. I'm constantly changing the difficulty for different races and it seems like whenever I go to drive around in freeride I never know how my vehicle will handle. Does anyone else feel the same?
Enjoying the game overall and looks great. Agree with the ‘ghost racers’ as I’ve also hit normal traffic that’s amongst them. For the planes, I find changing the camera to the one further out (right on dpad on PS) is a lot better and more like crew 2. Also turn off plane assist in settings so you have more control to do flips etc.

For the progression in a crew, my friend and i played together and we managed to progress at the same time, i was the crew leader but he was the one launching the races.

The point about the starter car. It really bugged me too which I think it needs changing BUT you don't get the car for 0 reason. If you go back and complete challenges for each playlist a good amount of them require the starter car to be completed. I only realized this one when I went to complete all the challenges with a friend

Yeah, there are a couple gripes that I have with this game, but overall a really good racer. The double tap pause button thing took me a second to realize, as I didn’t know you had to do that in order to access the sidebar. The frame rate drops only happened for me when I’d tap the PS button on my controller, and then go back into the game. Going to the better parts, the playlists thus far in my gameplay have been awesome, which I’ve played 5 (the Donut Media one, the Supercar Blondie one, Made in Japan, American Muscle, and the Vintage Collection).
Yeah sadly this game just simply isnt worth $70

I'm so glad they fixed the 1st person view, I love using 1st person when cruising but it was hard in the crew 2 with the stiff steering wheel whereas the crew 1 had good movement
You can progress play list together. The none party leader just has to make sure they have started the playlist

At 12:49 there’s complaining about absolutely being in solo can’t be in a crew to start solo but if you hold the button as mentionned in bottom right corner. Also playlists do progress when playing with friends, you just have to be at the same step as them to progress together, it works for me
Me and my friend both progressed in the playlists together. You just need to activate them.
I have sometimes the bug that my crew mates don't physically appear in freeplay or the race event get canceled if i start it or/and need to play it alone. To fix the bug we all need to restart the game. Hope they fix that + what you mentioned wirh the crew event progression
You can progress playlists when playing with friends. You both have to start it at the container. It won't progress if only the host watches the intro video to the playlist.
For the planes in the settings i believe it is either the controls tab or difficulty tab but theres is an option to turn simple flight off. After you do that they handle identical to crew 2
Something that I do love is the 180 degree wheel rotation when your using a wheel, whereas forza only has a 90 degree wheel rotation, which makes it feel very unrealistic.
Great video! It seems that the frame drops might have to do with the nonstop "this friend is now online" notification. Every time I get that notification, it drops fps for a split second.
For the crew playlist everyone have to see the video first to all progress at the same time.

i absolutely HATE how bad the civilians drive. they would make wide turns, then try to block you while you're going at a full speed

My least favourite thing is that you can't mass transfer parts from one car to another with a single button like you could on TC2
For some reason when driving the jesko, the character does manual gear shifts as if it were with a lever. Hope they fix it cus it is a bit immersion breaking
If you change the camera on the plane one notch, it changes it to exactly how it was in The Crew 2. Not sure why this isn't default.

in the settings, you can desable plane assist and it will be the same handling as tc2
(personally, i"ve never never used planes in tc2 because i just couldn't handle them, i hated the way it worked and now, with the assit setting, i can finally enjoy flying everywhere !
3 games in still haven’t fixed the issue of mirrors . The ability to see what’s behind you !! . Cars look awesome , but get ruined by the janky looking mirrors
The game is called “The Crew” but you can’t do a playlist as a crew. Haha 😂
