I would say the best advice is just don't get discouraged and try to have fun. Grand races are madness and they're funny, just enjoy them! I have 474 hours in the game and I felt like I was never getting any better. But I got my first podium the other day and I don't usually DNF races anymore, which is progress. It takes a long time!
If I've learned anything from the GR's it's just to have a good time racing, I was getting so mad when I would be up front and end up in the back. Over and over again I rage quit, watching Trigger just showed me I had the wrong attitude going in. I'm starting to get the jist of the races and settings. It's only a matter of time before I start placing on the podium.
Tip 26 - Abort when you are on the same race with Simgii and Goliath, they will slipstream and just 2 places finish 😂😂😂❤ Besides that what a great video trigger, not only you are trying to help other being a faster driver, but also being a better person on track to others. Fairplaytcm right, if u bump someone, give the position back, its only a race vs your image to the community. Thanks for the dedication and work on this videos 💪
I’ve played with them, it’s definitely not that bad It’s like everyone outside of top 5 getting dnf’d, there’s only been 1 race i’ve been dnf’d in and that was because of lag and some pretty godawful driving on my part The real tip is to abort when monster truck shows up, there is no winning in Monster truck races everyone suffers, even the winner
That chart explaining what each pro setting does at 10:00 is exactly what I've been looking for this whole time, the in-game descriptions weren't really clear to me and no other UA-camr has covered it beyond just "feeling it out"
I do plan to go into depth with a video in the future. It’s just a VERY difficult video to make. Showing examples and proving what I am saying is super difficult because a lot of tuning is feeling. Anyways, it will be made…in time
I can feel understand for what I've relearn of this video. Thanks for advice and I can be only hope to make the very best of it. Obviously, be a good sportsmanship and respect other players in TCM Grand Race.
Best TCM video - probably ever. I'm sure a lot of people will benefit from it. I consider myself closer to your level (though not as fast) than the level of the average player and even I can feel the disparity between the leaders and the midpack growing rapidly. To add my 2 cents: #2 tip - I often let players that i know are faster than me pass me, then use their slip and possibly even learn their better corner lines/cuts. #9 tip - In a haipin turn, even overbraking + guttering will often result in better time than executing a turn well without gutters. people seem to be afraid of overbraking imo. #16 tip - I use this situation to try maybe try out a new, riskier cut that I wouldn't do if I was in 1st or battling for 1st. To me it's the perfect opportunity for that.
Good tips! I will add that you are awarded more NOS the further back your placement is at the beginning of the race. Don't use it all up to get to the front because once you get there the front place drivers now have a full a full bottle and yours is empty.
Mistake #1 .. racing to win. Statistically your chances are very very very low. Especially when you add in the fact that the "sweats" are the ones having fun and winning which leads them to grand race more and decreases the chances you wont have one of them in your lobby and if there's 2 they're slipstreaming and will lose you quickly. Probably your best chances are on a Saturday morning (thats only time ive consistently gotten top 5 but may have been just luck), but if you want to win pvp, go play nfs as you may get a 1v1 with another casual/newbie
Love the tips about the pro settings! My enjoyment of the game went WAY up when I started making my own tunes. Even if they technically may be not be optimal compared to better players, I found the act of learning a car and making intentional decisions about the changes to be incredibly helpful and satisfying.
I’ve completed game 100% but I just started playing Grand Races & highest I’ve placed is 9th because I constantly get dived bombed or knocked off the track & I clean race so it’s frustrating at times
You have reminded me of that time that I went first the whole race but I didn’t know the route, until at 70% I was reached and surpassed by the whole package. Or the time I went first and nothing less than simgii disappeared from behind me to reappear 100 meters in front. Knowing the shortcuts is absolutely essential if you want to be competitive, otherwise, do the best you can and enjoy it like I do 🤷🏻♂️✌️
I've been trying to get better at the gutter turns everything else I've got down pretty well but the tips on using NOS have helped me tremendously thanks for the help and keep up the great vids !
I watched this video about a month ago and I promise you it improved my placement drastically… I now consistently place top 5 but I never found a good random to slipstream with, im usually fighting the whole race for whatever position im in. Would be nice to get this video more known in the crew community because all my races have randoms just smacking me around the map emoting 🤦🏿♂️
One very important tip is to have a good tv, with a good refresh rate. As soon as I upgraded my tv last week, I've been competing for top 3 almost every race, and got my first win yesterday
19:10 - That's actually very philosophical. And many martial artists convey the same mentality. though there are still Rammers, after i watched this very video, i noticed i was improving, a bunch. I ended up in sixth 2 times a row. Decent, but i could do better. I learned to use Drag Bump more, and I learned to boost slightly more when i try to get to slipstream range. I also have BETTER Nos management. I also improve on my gutters. yesterday i was grand racing with simgii. I watch his stream and i noticed how good he was. I kept on saying "I suck at grand races, How to get better." After that day, u posted this video, this glorious video that i've been needing FOR MONTHS. Trigger, i really cant thank you enough, i typed alot for this. Thanks to you for every helpful video you posted. i am a subscriber. and i love your videos. Your tips help. Thanks a bunch. -Nexus
Another mistake I keep seeing and the mistake I did is at those zigzag roads where it goes to the left then to right don’t use the boost in the middle only use a tiny bit and gutter when you are done with the zigzag you then use the boost

For me this makes the playing grand races worth it. So its upto you to decide how you want to play grand races. From experience i can tell you. Youll make more than enough money to buy weekly cars even if you just get in top 5 in grand races. Which is what i usually get.
Im the same but im at a point i actually do win the races with non-meta cars, it feels so good winning and showing people with 911 and hurracns that someone won without using meta cars
I think this list is great! Ive noticed myself using these tips playing over the past few months and a few days ago i got 6th place in a lobby with simgii! Just focus on your own race and do your best and you'll win more.

@MilitiaGamingCommunity I agree with the point that you make at 3:33 into this video, still to this day a lot and a I mean A LOT of players that play the Grand Race still fight in turns just to get better positioning. Also, a lot of them will be behind you in the slipstream and when they catch up to you they tend to want to push you off of the race track with their vehicle causing you to lose control of your vehicle and fall further behind in the Grand Race. I’ve been dealing with that a lot lately and it’s really starting to piss me off, however earlier today I just got my second First Place Grand Race win and so now I’ve won the Grand Race by finishing in first place twice now because I’ve been watching a lot of your videos talking about which vehicles are Meta and are better to use in the Grand Race. Your videos have really helped me out a lot and I hope that eventually I’ll end up getting my third Grand Race win by finishing in first place. That is, if the The Crew Motorfest Dev Team decide to make the Grand Race where your not constantly having to worry other players ramming into you or pushing you off the racetrack just to get better positioning then that would make the Grand Race feel more fair in terms of a Fair PvP Experience.
clean racing, i like that, mostly when the start is bad, your still have time to make the best out off it. learning is a must for a good result. trottle is your friend. play with your trottle in corners. road rage, it's not normal. be smart, butt fair. racing must be fun. thanks all for a nice race.
Sometimes during transition you shift up then when the car appears you’re still red lining. (Like I see the gear shift up then when the car appears it shifts back down by itself) I’m sure it’s happened to you before
The chart at 10:00 is pretty straight to the point, but I don’t think enough people bring up the fact that tweaking your aero can be pretty detrimental on tracks with a lot of hills and elevation changes. Wether that means completely losing the fronts while going over a hill or the rear snapping out ppl kinda use aero a little too much sometimes as a quick fix but it’s track dependent
This might sound self serving. But sometimes watch videos of players who dont get 1st most of the time. The reason i say this is. Driving in front and alone with no distractions. Is far different then always being the middle of the pack and getting bumped every now and then. But if you want to learn all about the track. Yes, always watch the best players. As youll get to see all the potential shortcuts and how far the best cars can be pushed. I do mostly come in top 5. But to get better i watch simgii and also trigger content. Its never ending learning that makes the grand race so much fun.
5:45 This vid is GOATED!!! I hope you make a Shortcuts video for the Grand Races, I almost always end up Top 8, but the people that know all the shortcuts easily beat me with those shortcuts. I've learned a few, but not all of them. I've DNF'd at the 5th Position, fr. It's insane hahaha.
If the pack separated you can focus on gutters, but if your at the start and with the whole pack it's gonna be hard to take corners of players dive bombing everyone
Damn trigger... Those are a lot of good tips. A lot of those are learned the hard way and with time behind "the wheel," but you teaching the new racers actually benefits everyone. Keep up your good work. At about 400+ hrs on this game from September till this very day, I can admit that I don't know it all. Hell, most of the time, I still feel I suck at this, and that's why I always check yours simgiis and the other pros videos. Always looking to get better. And for all your help(and I know this is not much but)I just subscribed
6:08 BRO. The amount of times I've lost positions to that shortcut there is INSANE hahaha, I always stick to the road and just see people coming from the sky at that part. PLEASE DO A SHORTCUTS VIDEO!!!
I would say one of the things people most misunderstand about racing is that your average speed from start to finish matters a lot more than the top speed achieved in that race. For example, let's say you have a series of hairpin turns that's about half a mile long (so 2640 feet). If you take those curves at different average speeds, you get wildly different results. 50 MPH: 73 feet per second = 36 seconds 60 MPH: 88 feet per second = 30 seconds 70 MPH: 102 feet per second = 25 seconds 80 MPH: 117 feet per second = 22 seconds You could be driving a Koenigsegg Agera going 250 miles per hour on the straights, but if you lose all your speed in the hairpins, you're looking at 10-15 second losses just from that. Something like a Porsche 911 with a top speed of, like, 180 but a higher average cornering speed would annihilate it. And aside from that, the nice thing about Grand Race is not only do you get rewards even if you don't finish, your rewards are prorated based on how much higher or lower you were in your finishing position compared to your start position. So starting in 18th and finishing in 9th can be just as lucrative for the player as starting in 5th and finishing in 1st.
I for one give people the thumbs up to pass if I see them coming in hot then cut in behind for the slip, a few even give me thumbs up back to pass but some get pissed and ram you, so tactics are needed to trick them
Right blocking or ramming is just someone who’s worried or garbage themself cuz they shouldn’t even worry abt you, need to focus on themselves staying on track
AWD cars like the Bolide and Gallardo in the Racing category don't spin out in the dirt but they are not as good as the Camaro SS. Also, track knowledge is key and it's not something you learn quickly. Don't expect to win every race either.
I don’t feel like a lot of this matters when all the top players are already miles ahead by the time you can even be competitive once you’ve fought through the pack of bad drivers blocking your lines or trying to run you off the road. If you don’t have a slipstream partner at a similar skill level to you, are using some sort of meta steering settings, or driving all meta cars (which is incredibly stale.) it’s essentially a coin toss as to where you’ll place.
I feel you. But I do have a question…the top players don’t automatically start at the front. They also have to navigate the madness to get to the front so if none of this matters…whats the difference between the players that make it to the front and the ones like you’re describing?
All you need to do is cheat by remembering all the scraping points, you know "racing" eyeroll genuinely surprised he doesn't mention it in this vid. That's the real secret to winning, just memorize all the best spots where the game actively lets you cheat by putting you ahead of where you where when you reset. "FUN"
I can all the triggers response to this. In one of his recent videos I got sent flying into the ocean which placed me back in dead last. I had drive my way back up to the top and actually finish. At that point I knew it wasn’t for a win but to finish. And it paid off because I ended up top 5. Yes I finished way behind the top leaders but I finished. I didn’t get DNF and I used most of the tips he is giving in this video.
@@MilitiaGamingCommunity Typically skilled players using meta cars get to the front of the pack before everybody else, especially if they are as mentioned, slipstream boosting, they can easily shoot ahead and be well out of reach before the end of the first leg of the race. Im a pretty consistent driver, but I almost never place consistently due to this. The midpack (for me being 10th to 3rd) is usually so spread out by the time the race is open-ended that you're basically locked into your position by the second leg, depending on the spec. I must state this is just my personal experience though.
I hate to add this but it’s sometimes it is warranted, thats revenge. You have to G check some of these drivers because they think you can be a simp/pushover. Like today I was running P3 and driver who will remain nameless pushed me off the track and I never done anything to him/her/them/they. Don’t worry I got them back in blood by spinning them out just before the finish.
Fully agree with every advice, except the one where you said to use meta cars. I don't like using the same Centiodieci or the same F40 every time. They're exceptional and beautiful cars. But using them every race gets absolutely boring. I hope that you can read this and debate this.
I need to get consistent I go 6th the 18th but I generally go for cars I have more control with rather then high top speed but I'm best in street 1 and 2 worst at AGP and rally
3:33 Honestly, I’m surprised that after six months of you posting this video and talking about the topic of players fighting in turns for better positioning that The Crew Motorfest Dev Team have even thought of a way to fix this ongoing issue with players constantly ramming into others and pushing them off of the racetrack with their vehicles I don’t know why they haven’t gone and added the feature that was in The Crew 2 where your vehicle wouldn’t make contact with the other person’s vehicle and you would instead just drive right through them.
Asian and Australian servers reg here, based on my personal experience, most of the players here are simply made most of the mistakes mentioned, and oh, you can find lots of sweats here
Trigger - This video is for people struggling with grand races and that arnt good enough to win Also Trigger - If you block it shows you are weak and not good enough 😂😂😂💀
I lost it when you said it lol I can't stand blocking or ramming either but man somtimes I'll be inches away from first on a tough race and it takes everything in me not to 🙃
It's a really nice video, tho I feel that is better to not always rely on meta cars to be better, you might be better at pace but you begin to be a one trick pony that indirectly relies on the car. Don't aim for bad cars tho, but I would recommend not always using the meta car of the day
Using the meta cars is important but tbh not as important than being CONSISTENT. Pick set of cars and stick with it until you are in the top 5 95% of the time.
The whole meta stigma bullshit people must get over. If you're bitching about everyone using the fastest car you were probably that kid that kept changing the rules of a game when you were kids so you always were winning... Get good noob
if you race in real life its the same concept you want to get better watch racing on tv that will teach you how to use the course to your advatage knowing the line and where to go is half the battle. OR BETTER YET LISTEN TO THIS VIDEO HE TELLS YOU EVERYTHING!
Split stream Is overpowered But main problém Is wheelbase And controllers players !!! You must prepare fór corner And Slow Down but they run in full Speed And turn like peanut.
when i activate direct mode i cant drift in the drift playlist. and with drift cars on the street. the car will just not drift its like blocking the turns. in the hoonigan playlist it was absolutely no problem. o.O
Thanks :) / would you also advice switching to manual transmission ? I noticed its faster when I am playing Summit but Gran Races are often a lil bit crazy & hectic. Also / huge thanks for your NFS unbound tunes. They got me several wins today 😁
Hi Trigger I have this question that since I play using a keyboard I don't get the option to tweak my deadzone to zero and change other settings like max lock and sensitivity....so is there any way we can edit these settings while using a keyboard for gaming since I don't own a controller
So i agree with 99% of this whole video. But at the same time trigger while you said "blocking is frowned upon through out the community and makes you look weak". While i agree with that to the end of the universe i also say that using META CARS IS ALSO FROWNED ON. Picking the "meta car" to alot of us is basically saying "im weak and i don't have the skill to pick anything else". But good vid overall
I hear what you are saying and I do agree to a certain extent but you gotta think about who this video is speaking to. I wrote it with the person who is having a hard time finishing the race (because they are DNFing every time) in mind. Hopefully with this info, they can move up into the top 10 or even podium. Is the community really frowning upon players using meta cars who are getting DNF’d? You know what I mean?
@MilitiaGamingCommunity true. I feel you....much respect. I either make podium or top 10. Never came in 1st yet (due to my own decisions not to use meta cars)....but it is what it is.
@@reginaldgriffin4978 I am not a top player so this does not affect me personally but sure 💀 Btw the difference between meta (e.g 993 and F40 in ST2) and a competent car (Corvette C8/C6, Porsche GT3RS, Diablo GT etc etc) is around 3 seconds, so if your not getting 1st atleast ONCE, there’s clearly another problem. Don’t be so arrogant to think that just your car choice is the reason you lose all the time.

You really need a "guide" playlist. this just randonly showed up now after two weeks of searching for guides like this
Sometimes during transition you shift up then when the car appears you’re still red lining. (Like I see the gear shift up then when the car appears it shifts back down by itself) I’m sure it’s happened to you before
Yes, the redline is unavoidable. You’ll need to shift up after it spawns in, but as far as shifting down and slowing down, you can do that. :)
I consistently finish in the top 10 and im happy enough with that, i find the grand races to be so much fun.
I’ve been playing racing games for a very long time and these tips apply to all racing games folks 💡
Trigger, YOU COOKED with this video.
Excellent Demonstration for Driving technics and Physics 🎉😮😅❤😂
lot of things i didnt realize after hundreds of hours in this game, thank you!
6:08 BRO. The amount of times I've lost positions to that shortcut there is INSANE hahaha, I always stick to the road and just see people coming from the sky at that part. PLEASE DO A SHORTCUTS VIDEO!!!
I can definitely work on it.
Most Most important is Track Knowledge!!
50 MPH: 73 feet per second = 36 seconds
60 MPH: 88 feet per second = 30 seconds
70 MPH: 102 feet per second = 25 seconds
80 MPH: 117 feet per second = 22 seconds
You could be driving a Koenigsegg Agera going 250 miles per hour on the straights, but if you lose all your speed in the hairpins, you're looking at 10-15 second losses just from that.
That video was super helpful dawg!! Appreciate the tips Trigger
Thank u im a new motorfest player who grow up with forza the tips will help me thanks
Im convinced crashing into others give you a huge boost
Fire tips just got my first ever top 3 first race after watching this
AWD cars like the Bolide and Gallardo in the Racing category don't spin out in the dirt but they are not as good as the Camaro SS.
Also, track knowledge is key and it's not something you learn quickly. Don't expect to win every race either.
I can’t tell you how many time get knocked to dead last and I end up top 10 or better even won it twice like that it’s not over till it’s over
💯
Also, if the race features a car type you aren't comfortable with like drift, then wait for the next race. Drift grand races are always a bloodbath
Great video trigger 👍🏽 im actually surprised you needed to make a video like this 🤔
my tip if comes to motorfest: play with wsad is much more forgiving.
This might just be luck but after watching this video i raced and got 3rd on the podium, thank you for these tips 🙏
Thanks Trigger, now i can get better in these races.
Great video bro!! Much needed
Fax but each race I come like top 10 tho
I feel you. But I do have a question…the top players don’t automatically start at the front. They also have to navigate the madness to get to the front so if none of this matters…whats the difference between the players that make it to the front and the ones like you’re describing?
All you need to do is cheat by remembering all the scraping points, you know "racing"
eyeroll
genuinely surprised he doesn't mention it in this vid.
Tbh for me it depends on player count and skill, if I'm super lucky and most the server is bad i usually end of 6th or 11th.
Everything you said paid off but as you all know, you can't escape a game of bumper cars
It’s getting sweaty out there, I have 320+ wins still getting tougher for me.
Asian and Australian servers reg here, based on my personal experience, most of the players here are simply made most of the mistakes mentioned, and oh, you can find lots of sweats here
Thanks Trigger u helped a lot👍
Great video :) keep going, great job :)
great video keep it up man 👍
Thanks for this❤❤
Trigger - This video is for people struggling with grand races and that arnt good enough to win
Also Trigger - If you block it shows you are weak and not good enough 😂😂😂💀
lol. I see the irony in those 2 statements. I guess I’m trying to teach people to be strong…not weak.
Your f40 looks dope.
Shoutout to Shayne Baker
Great video 😊
Your my favourite Teacher!❤
Thank you! 😃
@@MilitiaGamingCommunityI think you should make a book about how to get good at motorfest trigger!
Great great video bro keep it up 👏♥️
Thanks, will do!
The whole meta stigma bullshit people must get over. If you're bitching about everyone using the fastest car you were probably that kid that kept changing the rules of a game when you were kids so you always were winning... Get good noob
great tips!!
Is it just me or do i be seeing ppl with the same cars as me but faster than mine when my cars are maxed out (even without slipstream)
awesome video.. as always..
if you race in real life its the same concept you want to get better watch racing on tv that will teach you how to use the course to your advatage knowing the line and where to go is half the battle. OR BETTER YET LISTEN TO THIS VIDEO HE TELLS YOU EVERYTHING!
Thanks for the compliment!!! 🔥
anytime my friend i like watchinmg your videos.
@@MilitiaGamingCommunity
Split stream Is overpowered
But main problém Is wheelbase And controllers players !!! You must prepare fór corner And Slow Down but they run in full Speed And turn like peanut.
Nah
when i activate direct mode i cant drift in the drift playlist. and with drift cars on the street.
the car will just not drift its like blocking the turns.
in the hoonigan playlist it was absolutely no problem. o.O
Bro the only times i make It to top 15 someone Just ramdomly pushes me 20281929 times off Road and makes me spin
Thanks :) / would you also advice switching to manual transmission ? I noticed its faster when I am playing Summit but Gran Races are often a lil bit crazy & hectic.
Also / huge thanks for your NFS unbound tunes.
They got me several wins today 😁
I am coming top 10 and top 5 when i increase sensitivity to 95 and 0 dynamic lock.
Can you please give me the part where you disable the rewind?
Please help. I don't have Grand Race tasks counted, although I always make it to the end
My only mistake is using Automatic gearbox xD
Lol
I’ve only had the game for a week but how do you know you’re in slipstream from so far away, is there an indicator that tells you?
Hopefully i cant get out of my bad habits
Never came in 1st yet (due to my own decisions not to use meta cars)....but it is what it is.
so all the top players in the world are weak and don’t have the skill to pick anything else?? alrighty then lmao
@bran-rr an old saying: "a hurt dog will holler". If the shoe fits wear it kid
@@reginaldgriffin4978 I am not a top player so this does not affect me personally but sure 💀
Btw the difference between meta (e.g 993 and F40 in ST2) and a competent car (Corvette C8/C6, Porsche GT3RS, Diablo GT etc etc) is around 3 seconds, so if your not getting 1st atleast ONCE, there’s clearly another problem. Don’t be so arrogant to think that just your car choice is the reason you lose all the time.
Tight corner so hard and brakes not good to . Do need breaks early?
Is manual better than automatic? Because I use automatic even in Grand Race and I never got 1st place
Thanks trigger
Hi friends, in my gamel, there is unwanted stretched reflection of my car back end, and so much ghosting at sides of car, ..anyone have solution?
I am playing 1080p on xbox series x.
