What a great concept! Love these ‘share your happy place’ tours. My recording space is my absolute shrine and it’s fun to see what gear other drummers are using and their unique setups. Thank you for this 🙏🙏👍🥁
Awesome studio tour as always! Tim sounds like such a nice guy, one thing you forget to point out is that by making these videos you are building a nice community of like-minded people and creating awesome relationships. Rock on!
Great cable organization. I wish I had something like that but I don't wanna cut down space. It would be great to go next to the baseboard but under floor....
Love his shoutout to Cody Fry! He’s one of my favorite artists, got to see him live with an orchestra recently and it was hands down the best concert I’ve been to!
@@TimBuell super awesome man, i went your site and downloaded the charts, ty ty, would use ror sight reading practice. Truly amazed by transcriptions. What is your approach sir? Beat by beat for notation? Ty ty
It would be cool to have a full studio where you can track full bands etc... But there's also something to be said about a minimalistic setup that meets ones simple needs.
Trying to replicate the ability to have a dedicated mixing station that mirrors a dedicated drum recording station in my own studio. Got my comp, mouse, keyboard, interface, video monitor, etc at the drum station, and planning to run a 25' USBC or HDMI to a mirrored video monitor, keyboard, mouse at the mixing station, but can't figure out how to handle the headphone shuffle that comes from the need to audio monitor both at the drum station & the mixing station. Any advice beyond just a super long audio cable? How did Tim solve that here?
Yes! Super simple. Four 1”x6” boards - cut them to the length you need. Pocket screws connect three sides. The fourth board is the “lid” and you just get hinges from Home Depot and a window latch to close it shut.
@@southisaac the hinges were tricky because they need to be bigger than you think. Technically I think I went with a "strap hinge" (both sides kinda look like a triangle).
Perfect. Thanks so much man. Great info and really big help to me. I love your studio. I may have some additional questions about various other things.
It is a 2018 intel model haha. I don't know if I "need" it - but especially when editing video and stuff it's nice to have an external fan to kick on so the internal one doesn't have to work as hard.
We love Tim. We love Andrew. We love studio tours. ❤
We love Eman - we gotta get your studio on an episode!
stoked to watch this! love Tim.

Glad you enjoyed!
Amazing video. I am working on getting my interface setup and mirrored over by my kit like that
I slept on an air mattress in the room next to the studio. 10/10 would recommend
Tim’s a legend!
You DID sleep on an air mattress next door. You also filmed the first session in the new spot ever!
lots of love from mauritius island 🇲🇺 ❤
The wire trough cable management is GOLD 💥
It is also one of my favorite things about the studio and was one of the easiest parts of the build haha
tim buell the transcription legend
Ha! I don’t know about legend. But I’ve done a transcription or two for sure.

Agreed!
the interface next to the drums is genius, might do that as an extension to my existing interface.
It is a game changerrrrrr. Def recommend.
Love the drum studios which is what I do a lot of.
Glad to hear ya dig it!

Going up through an attic is also an option!
@@TimBuell good idea

Tim is the best!! Love this tour
READ is the best.

Yeah he’s the best. Truly such a fun person to work with.
Nice practical tips for us drummers! Thanks, will subscribe to Tim's channel
I appreciate the subscription! Trying to do what I can with what I’ve got.
Tim is cool!
Hey! I know you! haha Thanks for stopping by.
Thank you !!!! Awesome !!!
Ohh he is the guy behind VF Jams transcriptions, wooooowww
Ha! The very same one indeed.

Simple and meeting needs are great motivations to live by for sure.
I have the same focus rite interace!
Yep! It’s great. I use that as I/O now.
it would be dope for some of these people in the studio tour either demo a song they've made with an instrument or show part of a session maybe
Just started adding this into the tours. Check out the latest 3 tours.
Phone safe is the most valuable piece of gear. 😉
Big agree. If people haven’t tried this I promise it’ll change their lives.

Can I get some more details on how you built that cable box on the edge of the floor? 3:37
Yes! Super simple.

Wow. Thank you so much!! That makes sense. I was curious if it just had regular hinges. Thanks for the info!

Why does he need a fan for the Mac mini? I guess it's an Intel model. My old M1 Mini is dead silent and never gets hot.

Woo!
Great spot! What is that file sharing program you mentioned?
Samply!
Thanks boss!
wtf its happening on the camera focus?!
Operator error!
Audient iD44mkiII ftw! :)
Yep - if you just need a lot of I/O that thing is the way to go. Been REALLY happy with it.
