Tim was a roommate of mine in 1979, and whether he was making coffee, on his way to the bathroom, watching TV, or anything...he had his guitar on. And if he wasn't doing something else with his hands, he was playing that guitar.
Nice one - my favourite home studio I've ever seen. He's basically got a real life version of the options we get from things like Fractal and Kemper lol. I like how in this video he talks a bit about the actual room itself and the house and about noise considerations.
I think this is probably the most in-depth and full look at Tim's studio. It's definitely the best one I've seen. Others have been good, but there's always been some angle of the layout missing, and the way the cab room is laid out is awesome. Andrew, you've done a ton of awesome studio tours, but I have to say Tim's studio is probably the one I'd try to model mine after, if I ever have the opportunity to make a dedicated studio.
Exactly. I was thinking the same thing. I feel like everybody else focused on the same 60% of his studio and we have finally gotten to see the rest. This is awesome.
Watching his videos I always envisioned Tim was set up in a small room in his house. This is definitely not what I expected. It's cool to see all the toys and how things were set up.
I love Tim Pierce! His discography is amazing! Like you said for sure top 10 session guitarist of all time! I love how his studio is perfect for him. You should do Stu G's studio!
Nice surprise. I clicked on the video thinking that it was a Tim Pierce video, I wasn't expecting this. Tim is one of my guitar heroes. Excellent job Andrew 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I've loved Tim since the 80s when he played and toured for Rick Springfield. He is top-shelf. I love that his studio is stacked yet very homey compared to other YTers that build out the ULTIMATE studio layout that looks straight out of the next century. It's a living room, bar, that happens to have all the top gear anyone guitarist could ever want.
INCREDIBLE video, thank you on many levels (especially the level that every time my wife mentions my modest investment in my home studio I can whip this out and compare). Thank you Mr P, I've learned so much from you and this channel!
Building and opening a studio myself, I can relate to the Gear Acquisition Syndrome... ...It's more real right now that I am building a production studio. My wife is a saint with how well she is dealing with the mounting costs.
What a great tour! I love Tim’s playing and personality! I also enjoyed seeing the iso room in the garage from inside. Maybe i should build one of those in my garage below. Hmmmm.
This was a spectacular tour! Tim often talks about aspects of his setup, but we don’t usually get to see. I’ve always wondered about his mysterious amp cave below deck, lol. He always describes his workspace like an airplane cockpit, so I guess his amp setup is like the belly of the plane where many guitars sadly get damaged when musicians are forced to check them. 😉 😂
Beautiful Studio, Tim! Comfort is the absolute most important element of any studio at it appears that you've nailed it. What is the chair that you are using, as it appears to be able to have the ability to go armless? Thanks!
Tim Pierce is beyond underrated. I classify him with the most tasteful players ever like Gilmour or Mike Campbell. It's just hilarious I've watched his rig rundown multiple times on multiple channels and still get lost on the complexity of this amazing setup lol
Holy pants. Really cool to see what a lifetime of building a functional studio around your practice looks like. Man I want to see Gigrig Dan clean up that octopus of pedalboards.
of all the videos I've seen of Tim's studio, I've never seen one where the camera is pulled back for a total overview. Another great video Andrew. The only thing that scares me is the power cables bunched up in a pile mainly because I've seen a fire started from the heat generated from a single extension cord left coiled up but I'm sure Tim has insurance and a fire extinguisher.
I was surprised the most at the lack of sound damping in the cab room. Just cabs and drywall. I would have thought that it would have sounded like a reverb chamber in there, and not crisp and clear.
Yes, that surprises me too! On other videos he says that he throws a blanket over the cab and microphone. He gets amazing sounds and it's shocking to see that it comes from a cranked amp in a small room with absolutely no acoustic treatment.
Tim is the fucking man. Full stop. The only issue I had with this video is Tim said oh this chop 6 is the bass for guitar players, and I'm just yelling at my screen why? Tell me why... I want to know so bad! Lol. Great vid and great info. Thanks for doing this one
Nice to finally have an idea how that cabroom looks like! Tim talks a lot about his mic’ed up cabs but he never showed them ;) Just wondering how the pencil mic performs when recording the low E string on an accoustic. I always have the impression they lack a bit of bass and you’re maybe better of with a bigger capsule. Or at least a mix of both.
When using two mics like a Royer and a 57, is the technique to pan left and right usually or combine both in the spacial field to have one signal with the lows and highs of both mics? I know it should be done by ear with no rules just curious on what the pros usually do most of the time.
Andrew, do you know what the preamps in the EL500 2- bay 500 rack are? Towards the top of his rack underneath the Kahayan 16 channel summing mixers. I don't recognize them!
Wow you left out Rick Springfields “jesses girl” which i believe was his first big studio record….. and of course Bryan Adams…. After his first record he asked tim to go on the road with him….. well tim passed thinking …. Ah…. Its a new artist…. As you know he has some great stories….. when i had a small apartment in the 90’s time would load up his navigator….. and bring over a pile of guitars and a couple amps….. and we would hang for the day….. on one of those hangs he told me….. “you need an acoustic guitar”…. So we stopped and the guitar center on Ventura…. He played a few martins and handed me one ….. “here buy this one”…… i still have it ….. Love the videos…!!
I love how he just walks around with the guitar. 😅
lol probably a comfort thing, guitarists don't know how to behave if not holding a guitar
Hides his middle aged spread 🤣
Each to his own flashy bling :)
Tim was a roommate of mine in 1979, and whether he was making coffee, on his way to the bathroom, watching TV, or anything...he had his guitar on. And if he wasn't doing something else with his hands, he was playing that guitar.
Tim is a wizard. His setup/gear is amazing. He can do anything. I don't think he could play a wrong note or a bad chord if he tried.
Nice one - my favourite home studio I've ever seen. He's basically got a real life version of the options we get from things like Fractal and Kemper lol. I like how in this video he talks a bit about the actual room itself and the house and about noise considerations.
So many Nobels ODR-1’s in that room. Tim definitely has a favorite circuit.

I love how functional and ergonomic Tim's studio is. That black PRS SC is gorgeous too!
When I bought my first house I did the same thing. To see if the neighbors could hear. Luckily for me they could not. Love this Tim.
Tim is so down to earth. Great to finally see the setup behind the camera.
Elton John & Bruce Springsteen Goooood Damn 😢😢Man's A Legend..
I love Tim Pierce! His discography is amazing! Like you said for sure top 10 session guitarist of all time! I love how his studio is perfect for him. You should do Stu G's studio!
Love Tim
Awesome cab room! So cool to see a studio focused on guitar recording/writing. Thanks for a great tour!
The LEGEND himself, Tim Pierce.
Nice surprise. I clicked on the video thinking that it was a Tim Pierce video, I wasn't expecting this. Tim is one of my guitar heroes. Excellent job Andrew 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Tim is a wonderful gentleman and his respect for you, Andrew is apparent. Thank you both for sharing this amazing setup.
Finally! A proper tour of Tim's studio!
Yo that isolation box is killer.
YESSIR! Love Tim. What a setup.
Wow Tim all them CABLES stay safe buddy would love to tidy it up for you thanks Tim when do get to relax?????
TIM RULES!!!
Great work as always!
Tim is such a rad dude. I watch all of his videos.
Total legend! Really loved the studio and tour :)
Thanks for watching Layla!

Tim, uno de los más grandes guitarristas de la historia. Gentil, amable, educado, un maestro de la guitarra.
All I can say is "Duuude... Awesome!" A lot of hard work put into that, Tim. Thanks guys!
@ 20:12 He is talking about Doug Mckean. R.I.P Doug. I was fortunate enough to work at United/Ocean Way with Tim and Doug before Doug's passing.
Tim seems like one of the nicest guys in the musical world. Nice video.
Those Ikea pedal shelves are called ELVARLI if anyone is looking for them
It's always great to see Tim get more exposure -- thanks.
Love this guy and all of his incredible work. GREAT TOUR!
INCREDIBLE video, thank you on many levels (especially the level that every time my wife mentions my modest investment in my home studio I can whip this out and compare). Thank you Mr P, I've learned so much from you and this channel!
Every time I see Tim that Bon Jovi solo on Runaway starts playing in my head. Awesome solo! And great video.
Tim is awesome. Thanks for the tour guys
That Cab room is very ideal.
I don't know why I never thought of doing that.
I can see that in my future at some point.
I'm a big fan of Tim Pierce, so I really enjoyed this video. You did an awesome job!
Designed for momentum. Genius!
Great ture, and Tim is great as always.
Thanks for sharing!
This was amazing. Thank you both so much!
Yes Andrew! You are checking off all of my favorite UA-cam guitarists. This is amazing
Building and opening a studio myself, I can relate to the Gear Acquisition Syndrome... ...It's more real right now that I am building a production studio. My wife is a saint with how well she is dealing with the mounting costs.
Wow! This tour of Tim's studio is one heck of a treat. Thank you.
This was incredible. Thanks so much!
Legend! 4x12 baby!!!
Great insight. Thx for the great content.
What a great tour! I love Tim’s playing and personality! I also enjoyed seeing the iso room in the garage from inside. Maybe i should build one of those in my garage below. Hmmmm.

Great, now I have to build a pedal wall in my studio 😂 great episode and love his style having things hardwired and ready to roll
Love your studio layout, especially your ISO cabinet wow!..
Ok this... is.... epic.
OMG such a great idea to tour Tim Pierce's studio!
I hit "Like" on this one as soon as I read the title.
Two of my favorite channels meet.
Love Tim’s PRS necklace. Awesome setup!
I love how Tim’s entire setup is so down to earth, practical, humble, chilled, and as unpretentious as he is! What a great guy and tour. Thank you!
Thanks for this video Andrew, this may very well be the most in depth tour of Tim’s setup. Very inspiring.
That room with all that equipment is my idea of paradise ,
I like the Samsung monitor remote attached to a stand! Impossible to find those things so much of the time! 😂
Amazing video Andrew! Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work 👍
Now this was a good one!
Music legend!!!!
Great vid!
I counted 5 unique Nobels ODR-1 pedals in that studio
As far as we know there are a few more in the closet..................🙂
Beautiful Studio, Tim! Comfort is the absolute most important element of any studio at it appears that you've nailed it. What is the chair that you are using, as it appears to be able to have the ability to go armless? Thanks!
What a great video! Tim is such a quality person and fantastic technician, in both guitar and his extensive setup! Wow. Thanks.
Man to finally see the speaker vault, awesome guys love both channels :)
Brilliant video Guys. Thanks 👍
Ahaaaaa....I knew I recognized you from somewhere. East West!! I used to work there all the time. FIlm/tv/records etc.
THANKS!
A true legend!
You are really hitting all the stars 💪
Super Cool. Going to need to try out some flat wound strings soon.
Tim's the GOAT
Tim Pierce is beyond underrated. I classify him with the most tasteful players ever like Gilmour or Mike Campbell. It's just hilarious I've watched his rig rundown multiple times on multiple channels and still get lost on the complexity of this amazing setup lol
I was drawn to the cabinet vault.
Holy pants. Really cool to see what a lifetime of building a functional studio around your practice looks like. Man I want to see Gigrig Dan clean up that octopus of pedalboards.
Good to know Tim will be safe with his cabs when the apocalypse hits haha.
LEGEND!
I’ve seen other videos of Tim’s studio, but this is the first one to show the spaghetti of cables everywhere 🤣
so cool
Incredible setup and collections. Great video!
Great vid Andrew. Yes, Tim's room has the best vibe. I actually want to live there but I don't think he'll let me.
of all the videos I've seen of Tim's studio, I've never seen one where the camera is pulled back for a total overview. Another great video Andrew. Oh my God Tim!
Marvellous video :) thank you!

Love the videos…!!
I always see everybody’s studio with rugs laying around. They look great but is there a special purpose like sound absorption?
This is awesome, dude
That was so cool! Nice work, Andrew
This is so old! As I’m now looking at your Trident - if I watched this year ago? It was even better this time.! 😜
Love this setup. Every time I try and do a setup this enclosed I get terrible noise from the computer monitor through my pickups.
love that he has a guitar on him the whole tour xD
Yeah I really like Tim, he's genuine... and I put him up there with Glen Campbell and Louie Shelton
I feel so mush better about my guitar collection now.
Thanks!...
What audio interface is that on the desk @ 3:15 ? please
