Anyone have more synths than Jim? What’s the best part of this spot?
Pretty sure BT has us all beat by a mile - you ought to do one on his place. It’s insane!
Jordan Rudess.
@@MuzixMaker YUP!!!! ;-)
ua-cam.com/video/ISRbBX0A32A/v-deo.html check it out matching lamps were twinkies
I would have to say BT probably has the most.Trent Reznor has a huge synthesizer studio collection.
GEO SYNTHS.
You should check out Marshal Arnold on UA-cam, he has an incredible set up he’s a friend you should definitely check his studio out and he’s a really cool guy.
There's a point where it stops being a "home studio" and becomes a Studio that just happens to be at your home.
I just came here to say that I appreciated the B-roll in the beginning.
This guy is next level planned out.
Signal flow is crazyyyyy
I love how you always seem to cover the details.
Huge thanks for adding my little space to your “collection” Andrew - you always do such a fantastic job!
I LOVE your space! I'm all about the keyboards. Great job.
@@arianamastersofficial thanks so much!
Inspiring space, Jim! I saw that Ranch stuff in the background (I used to be on crew/lead worship out there), it was a nice reminder of my wonderful times there. Bless you!
@@littleshrederdude thanks much! LOVE JH Ranch!
Where'd the Jupiter X go!? :o
Would LOVE to see more synth based setup :)) always looking for cool ideas and most of the videos are full band recording
Holy crap!!!! Synth heaven!!
Always fascinating to visit these great talents.
Such a shame. I thought I knew lots of keyboard artist/producers/film scorers/ I humbly say, I don't know anything! This is definitely one of my favorite segments. Thank you for sharing Jim Daneker's studio. Up until watching this, I had humbly and sadly never heard of him. I'm definitely a fan now! Again, thanks for sharing!
Thank you SO much for the support of my husband 😁😁👏🏻👏🏻
Any time!
Love that he uses big budget stuff as well as low budget stuff. No discrimination.
It’s all about sound and inspiration! 👍🏻
There is no better way to start the week than watching this vids
Very nice!
Jim saved my life .. producer of DX DREAMS for Kontakt ..!!! :D
Walking into this room with all them synths would be like a dream come true 👍👍👍
He has done a lot of thinking with his studio. A lot !!!!. Amazing.
Beautiful
fantastic attention to detail -incredible
This is my kind of room; a room with a ton of keyboards.
I just noticed how awesome your logo is. Cool.
It's incredible what you can amass overtime, I look at my relatively small project setup and I'm always impressed, thanks for the tour!
So well set up for interconnectability. Amazing. Great studio.
WOW that's eye candy. such awesome inspiration for my studio.
Is this excessive? Yes.
Is it still intriguing? Yes.
Happy to see another Herman Miller in a studio :)
I believe the only correct reaction is to say HOLY SYNTH
bro i love your studio set up videos!!! dont stop doing them! you r making my mondays betters dude!!!
I love love love the collection! Oh the sounds that can be made in that room - very impressive. GREAT use of space.
This is probably my favorite one so far!
Thank you very much, amazing video!!!
as a synth lover & person that thinks of their home studio as a spaceship cockpit, i can tell this one's gonna be a hit with me :)
ah frick, for the life of me i've never gotten touchosc to work! maybe time to give it another look
Great Vid !
These studio tours are awesome. I’m also very thankful I’m not one of the sad people that feel the need to give a thumbs down. That must really suck... keep up the great work, Andrew!
Check out the image reflecting on your Acoustic guitar pick guard during the Intro! Another good studio tour thanks Andrew.
Bonkers he said. The studio is bonkers. Thanks to you both Andrew and Jim for a wonderful, inspirational tour of what must be a gorgeous space to work in. So many little knicky-knacky bits and pieces. I love it. I think I also need two Stream Decks. Thanks guys.
Nice Synth Keyboards Set Up !!
Gorgeous set up...amazing job
this is sooooo one of my most favourite channels, please keep it up.
DREAMMMMMMMMMMM
Thank you for this series I have a routine where every Monday when I go for my lunch break I watch this lol
Beautiful studio
A simply stunning creative space.
Wow!!! What I creativ vibe!!
This is off the charts
Love this studio. Fantastic use of space and design elements. Amazing how there's so much tech, yet still feels like a cabin.
Thanks for watching!
Now to get it all on solar power.
Damn his studio is so sick!! That’s my dream right there!
This may be my favorite setup.
synth dream land!
was really waiting for this tour, great!
Thanks, Andy for another great interview.
Thank you for watching GG :)
Can't stop watching the pick guard, in the beginning.
Awesome tour Andrew! Got a couple cool ideas from Jim on this!
That was a really interesting tour, this guy knows about his stuff, thanks
Being a big synth nerd, this was the best studio tour yet!
I've been waiting for one of these studio tours with a heavy synth setup! Thanks for delivering! Jim - I love what you've done to customize and make an aesthetically pleasing setup. I like the Michael W. Smith shout out - he's a great artist. From my experience it's a lot tougher than it looks to connect everything up and get it working in a "clean" functional way, and you've achieved that. I look forward to checking our your UA-cam channel and other work as well,.
Thanks for the kind words Chris!
This is beautiful!!!
still drooling over this
Great interview. Glad that you have a synth guy on this time round. Also thank you. Your videos have helped me to build my project studio. If I got stuck on anything I had your videos as a reference point. Also great inspiration while putting things together on those late nights. Had this channel running continuously in the background. Appreciated. :-)
Jimbo is the absolute coolest nerd I have ever met in my life! If I were Bauer, he would definitely be my O’Brian!!😂 Awesome episode. 👍🏼
Man I love your videos. I wait for mondays for your new videos!
i just came here to say; it's cool he watches your clips, man. he be a fan, yo!
Just wow! I wish this was in my home.
You gotta start remembering GIK acoustics. A few of the studios you've featured have had them. Great company.
For sure… really affordable and good quality stuff!
"Ad Alta" is the album I listened to most often in quarantine ❤ brilliant musician, brilliant tour 👍
Wow, thanks for the kind words!
This was so cool!
Very nice set up!
It's funny because his home studio is sort of set up like an old school stage keyboard set-up.
Seems to make sense since that is the world he came from.
Great interview, as usual and I am really digging your 'mix' of all these different studios with different instrument types and focus.
Keep Up the Great Work Andrew!
My favorite so far by a mile, I am a synth guy so it starts there, but also would be my dream setup as it is geared around one person and can somewhat be attainable in my lifetime. Many of the studios on here are crazy impressive but nothing I would ever have or even want really as I only want a one room studio just for me.
Every time I watch one of these videos my wallet gets lighter. Been building up my tiny studio in a spare 11'x14' bedroom. Having a hard time fitting the drums, synths, guitars, basses in there haha.
love touchOSC
Awesome video and such a good studio! Would love to see more composer centric studio tours in the future.
Definitely agree with you, Mike!
What a fantastic studio Jim designed, and a collection of epic gear. Loved your interview Andrew (learned a lot). While more is not necessarily better (Geosynths and Marshall Arnold have outstanding synth collections) "Firechild" has (and uses) just about every epic synth known to man. Junkie- XL before he sold most of his gear had a legendary collection.
Yah synths! Got some good ideas for my current and future synth studio. Thanks!
Very impressive :-)
DX-7 w/ the wood panels! 👁
from what little i've heard i can't say i'm a fan of his music or the music he mixes, etc. but his studio might be the nicest i've ever seen. not too big not too small. incomparable aesthetics. super nice space. as well he is an absolute audio / engineering / tech genius...
Thanks for the kind words!
Love your vids brotha 🤙 preciate it
Nice videos bro
I can't tell if my heart rate is elevated from my treadmill workout or his sexy studio.
This was 26:55 min. of pure uadulterated synth porn!
Not one keyboard/synth/ controller I would think twice about having at my own place.
He had every classic brand AND model covered and up and running.
Dayum!
That´s one mighty fine keyboard/synth project studio.
And I´m a metal guitar player,- can´t play the piano to save my life,- and I´d still want all of it.
Dayum!
nice
I love your videos
As I fell over
Another great video. I got a lot of ideas from your channel for my new studio. If you’re ever in NY, hit me up!
Love everything, but I'm shocked by the daw/vst/preamp setup and furniture. Not only feels like a super smooth workflow, but also it gives like a vintage, analogue console style to the centerpiece of the studio! I would love a short video of that stuff in depth. Cheers from Argentina.
Glad you like that - that’s exactly the vibe I was going for with that center section. I took pictures along the way while building that… get in touch and I will see if I can find them. I will also do an upcoming UA-cam episode on that ;-)
LOVE these videos. I would love a Zoom call with Jim one day. Heck i would actually pay a few bucks for that.
888🥳... thanks for sharing.
Got some Great, Iconic synths in there. Loving the almost-separate recliner area, and the open windowed vocal booth. I'm also a big fan of that rule: don't bring anything else in, unless it adds something totally new to the space. With that rule taken into consideration, GREAT choice of synths. But am I seeing potential for a Quadraphonic monitor setup here? 2A's with interchangeable tubes, groovy. Does Jim do his own Mastering? Talking about Reverb, Eventide Blackhole is sick (especially for synths). A free ITB reverb also worth checking out: Valhalla SuperMassive (god I love this thing). Make sure you got that "Vintage Knob" firmware update from Sequential for that OB6 Desktop :) Loving the decision to kind of lone-wolfe and feature the Prophet 5 and OB6 together... "analog top dogs", yes... but you can't deny The Brute, dude! I see that Jim has some sincere appreciation for the MB, and for that reason, I know he knows his synths (from witnessing that carefully curated collection for versatility in sound design purposes). Only other analog consideration would be the filters of the Korg MS20 (that sound doesn't appear to be in this studio... ?), and taking a good look at the Behringer Odyssey! The mini-library w/guitars mounted on walls for space maximization, love it. And making your own custom furniture for the studio, that's got to be a great deal, not just due to saved money- but, you can really Exact the dimensions perfectly (a skill I need to get into myself!). And... J.W., yikes! It doesn't get more talented (E.T., Star Wars, Jaws... you name it, literally). All that's missing in that studio for autographs now is one from Elfman, Vangelis, and GOD lol
Another thing worthy of mentioning, I notice this fellow has pictures of his loved ones in very prominent places, all around. Myself, I have a 3 year old boy, whose always popping up on my vocal mics (sometimes it works really well, very organic, albeit accidentally & somewhat experimental as well)... but a lot of us I think have this fantasy where we're going to create this epic, isolated, almost Bat Cave scenario that's It's Own Space, totally isolated from the rest of the world. For those of you who have home studios (whether for fun or profit)... do you personally wish that it was more isolate from the world outside, or... what are your thoughts on this?
This is an excellent studio, especially for a home-studio. Loved this for the ideas it presents, thank you guys for sharing!
Great comments - thanks friend!

Thanks David!
@@AndrewMasters if I may, I’ve been a musician for as long as I’ve been alive. I’m 25. (See, that rhymes.) My instrument of choice is drums. From drumset to percussion. My dream is to work in a music store where I can, stop me if you get the reference, say that “I sell drums and percussion and drums and percussion accessories.”
Nice. I was hoping for a run down on how he uses MIDI with all that gear.
A pair of old Emagic Unitor 8mkII’s 😁
this man went to guitar centers piano room and said "I'll take 1 of everything"
Amazing...now let's talk about how he keeps the room clean... ;-)
It helps when someone like Andrew comes over to inspire a little cleaning! 😂
any idea what those small stands are he said he got from amazon? Those look great.
Ang here goes Jacob collier with not much gear but has metric modulation, etcs, wins 4 grammies 😅😅😅 subbed to your and Jims channels, keep posting
Ha, yes - Jacob is talented on a whole other level!
would have loved to known what type of midi patch bay clock this guy was using! other than that great vid! glad the channel is growing!
A pair of ancient Emagic Unitor 8mkIIs which still work great after 20 years! That gives me a total of 16 old school MIDI ins & outs.
@@JimDaneker AHHH I actually hear some of the older ones are more reliable than the new ones thats why I was curious! thanks for replying!
@@gravitytwins1921 Sure thing! I’m actually surprised they still work as great as they do… I expected them to be abandoned long ago by Apple!
Well thanks Andrew now I can't even look at my small bedroom studio.....
Any chance to interview Jeff Lorber sometime in the future? Just a thought. :). Thank you, Andrew!
Apollo Console allows you to switch between +4 or -10 outputs as well. I'm all about proper signals but I think you could prob remove the ebtech and be cool...
Yes it does, but the Ebtech converts between balanced and unbalanced lines as well, and also properly breaks ground loops. They are great little problem solvers ;-)
@@JimDaneker cool, Ill prob snag one at some point, as the need does arise now and then. Currently I use the Avedis line pads from going from line to mic level, and actually use the behringer de-hum box they have for a couple of my old synths that add a hum to signal...
I wanna buy like 7 keyboards now.
