Oven-Fried Potatoes VS Cheese & Gravy Oven-Fried Potatoes - Double Recipe

- Enjoy delicious oven-fried potatoes, as is, or load them up with cheese and a meaty gravy for a full-on treat. Which will you do?
INGREDIENTS
POTATOES
2 1/4 - 2 1/3 lbs (1020-1060g) potatoes, scrubbed & cut into wedges
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
CHEESE & GRAVY
1 tbsp olive oil
12 oz (340g) ground meat
1 onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tbsp paprika
2 tbsp flour
1 cup milk
7 oz (200g) cheddar cheese, grated
DIRECTIONS
POTATOES
1. In a large bowl, whisk together oil, salt, and pepper. Toss potato wedges in mixture until well coated.
2. Spread wedges evenly on two oven trays. Sprinkle any remaining oil mix over wedges.
3. Bake at 450°F (230°C) for 25 minutes.
4. Flip wedges and return to oven. Bake for another 10 minutes.
CHEESE & GRAVY
1. In a frying pan, heat the olive oil on medium. Add ground meat, onion, salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 8-10 minutes.
2. Add flour and cook, stirring frequently, for 1-2 minutes.
3. Add milk, a little at a time, and deglaze pan. Add rest of milk and simmer, stirring, for 5 minutes - until sauce thickens.
4. Add potato wedges to a 9x13 baking dish. Pour gravy over potatoes, and spread evenly.
5. Sprinkle cheese evenly over the potatoes and gravy.
6. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes. (10 minutes for gooey cheese, 12 minutes for slightly browned cheese)

Love the thumbnail. When i read gravy i thought it was just a sauce, the beef is a great surprise making it even yummier, besides i can see myself using the same beef / gravy in my other recipes. Yummy!
Definitely. Can use that meaty gravy in many things. I just recently made a white lasagna with it.
I've made the generic oven potatoes on their own before. Pretty good on their own but now I definitely want to try the gravy version!
