  • A hearty sandwich with layers of Korean bulgogi and Gouda cheese.
    INGREDIENTS
    1/4 cup soy sauce
    2 tbsp sesame oil
    3 cloves garlic, crushed
    3 tbsp sugar
    1-2 tbsp Gochujang (optional)
1 1/4 lbs (560g) thinly sliced pork or beef
2 large ciabatta buns (or other bread), split in half
    12 oz (340g) Gouda, grated
    DIRECTIONS
    1. Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, sugar, and Gochujang. Add meat and mix until all coated. Cover and let marinate for 1 hour or more.
    2. Cook the meat and marinade over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 8-10 minutes.
    3. Divide the cooked bulgogi and spread on all four bun halves.
    4. Divide the cheese and spread over the bulgogi.
    5. Place under a broiler for 6-7 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted.
    6. Assemble the halves into two complete buns.

mmmm... good. Looks darn delicious. おいしい Kevin, the sandwiches are gigantic. Each one would feed a small army. I have not cooked with gochujang before. I must get some. Thank you Kevin.

I also like mixing gochujang with ketchup. It cuts down the sweetness and gives ketchup some zing.

Sheesh, your buns are too big!!!!
Your recipes are always sized to feed a small army....
The only thing that is too small sometimes is the pot you use to cook especially stews or pasta dishes... !
LOLOL! (putting on the helmet and keeping my head down..)

@@KumasKitchen LOL! The recipe looks delicious..a side of kimchi would be great. I would just go for something more like an English muffin for the pan side...!
Hearing your work schedule makes me believe you could chow down on them two days in a row... Take care and be safe, Kevin.
