    The thing I like about Tisas 1911’s is that they are hammer forged barrel, slide and frame. The fit and finish for the price is outstanding too.

    Just picked one up today at my lgs. $750 out the door. Haven’t shot it yet but it feels awesome and seems well made. I also have a Springfield Mil Spec 45 and this Tisas seems just as nice, finish and quality wise. The blacked out sites are tough to see so I’ll probably put a drop of nail polish on the front post. Thanks for the video. I just subbed.

    I've owned a Tisas 1911 Tanker Commander 4.25 inch and a 1911 Duty 5 inch, both in .45 ACP. I enjoyed owning both and got positive function with them shooting brass cased .45 FMJ ammo. After a 250 break-in with both I decided to give several brands of quality JHP ammo a try. Here is where I became disappointed with both pistols. I used an assortment of Speer Gold Dot, Remington Golden Saber, Federal HST and Hornady Critical Duty. All were 230 grain except with the Hornady which was 220 grain. I had numerous FTF with all the JHP ammo except for the Hornady which had the fewest failures to feed but still wasn't close to what I wouldn't consider a reliability issue with the pistols. They were both traded away.
    I'd like to give this Tisas 1911 in 10mm a try but I don't want to be disappointed again especially with a much more expensive model. Any experience or thoughts from you folks out there?
    Thanks

      Hollow point ammo wasn’t around when the 1911 was designed. My understanding is most 1911 have trouble with hollow point ammo. I’m sure the bullet design can be a factor. I have a one in 45 and will try some hollow point to see which ammo it likes. Otherwise ball ammo is fine.

I need to find something like Williams FireSights or something. I completely agree about the combat sights. I like sights that pop and you can pick them up instantly. Tisas got a 99% in my book.

      Try Testors yellow fluorescent enamel paint at Hobby Lobby, $2.99. Apply it with a toothpick or a cut-off q-tip. I put that on all my non-night sight guns, works great. Springfield 1911, Taurus 605, two sigs after the tritium wore out, a Beretta 3032. Love it. Even did it on a Ruger 10/22 and a Mossberg pump. I black-out the rear sights with black enamel paint.
      I used to buy Hackethorns, but not anymore.
      Does not work well with factory Glock sights.

    I hadn’t heard much about Tisas but when visiting my favorite gun store last week I saw their D10 on display. Handled it and it listed for ~ $750 but used several gift cards to that store my kids had given me over the last several years and walked out of the store with it after paying $625. It seems after I’ve watched several Tisas videos that I’ve made a good investment and addition to my ever growing 1911 collection . . . I owned 7 prior to this one.

    For TARGET Bullseye shooting , the six O'clock Pumpkin on a post hold can be very easy to align accurately . The black bull on a white background with nicely squared and properly sized sights can result in some VERY tight groups . It IS NOT my choice for hunting , or defense , or ANY other type of shooting though .

    I would expect it to be a good representation of a 10MM in the 1911 platform. That being said having just recently become interested in owning a 10mm I have just recently done a lot of research into guns in this caliber. I wound up with a Glock 20 which I am so far really happy with and expect that continue based on my previous experience with Glocks. I don't have any experience with 1911's in 10mm but a lot of my research when I was looking steered me away from the caliber in that platform, a lot of consensus among others being that the 1911 design might not be the best suited to the high pressure of the cartridge and that a polymer frame helps with the recoil of full house rounds. I have been really impressed with all of my Turkish made guns. I now have several, a couple of Caniks, a Girsan high power and especially a CZ Bobwhite side by side my girlfriend gave me for Christmas a couple of weeks ago.

    • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  Рік тому +3

      I’ve had several in the 1911 platform and the recoil is stiff. I like my Glock 20 as well but for me the thin profile and deep beaver tail of the 1911 makes me feel more secure holding on.

    • @deskgamesix
      @deskgamesix Рік тому +1

      The problem with the Glock is you have to get an aftermarket barrel if you want to shoot any hot 10mm. And if you don't want to shoot hot rounds why even have a 10mm?

I went to pick this D10 up and in the gun store I cocked the hammer to feel the trigger weight and to my surprise when I pulled the trigger, I felt the grip safety bump back (ever so slightly) into my hand. I didnt buy that gun as I felt something was wrong. The wife and I visited 3 more gun stores that had this gun, all of them did the same thing. No other 1911s did this, kind of strange, can you see if yours does this? Just gently pull the trigger and take note if the grip safety bumps back, just a little. Thx

      I (Gene) use to smoke pack and a half a day and 12 years ago I started vaping and haven’t smoked a cigarette since. Changed my life I don’t care what the naysayers say I go by my personal experiences

      No worries my friend, I'm in the same boat. I for years (20+) smoked quit in 2000 and now everyone at hunting camp loves and knows when I show up because it smells like Captain Black pipe tobacco. I just thought it was hilarious to see a random low flying cloud wafting by and no musket going off😂🤣😂 I love watching your videos, and I just happened to see it. This will be one of many vids you put out that I bought a gun👍 I was looking at this brand in an affordable 10mm but in 4.25".

    All 1911s have a 200 round breakin. This is something that used to be common knowledge back in the 80s and 90s.
    If you want a pistol read out of the box buy a Glock or other modern firearm.

    • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  9 місяців тому +1

      I’ve literally never had to “break in” a 1911 other than a Kimber I owned and it was stupid like 500 rounds or something. Springfield TRP I have to date 2600 rounds through out of the box without a malfunction one to speak of not one. Same can be said about other SA 1911’s I have I just don’t have 2600 rds through them. I have Sig Sauer Tacops 10mm with 760 rds not a single hiccup straight from the box. That has just not been my experience.

      @@GSquaredTactical You may have never heard of it but it's true. It was also common knowledge in the 80s to conceal carry guys that you shoot no less than 200 rounds through any firearm that you plan to trust your life with. I guys it's just old world knowledge that has been forgotten. To this day I still practice both. 200 round brake in for my 1911s and 200 rounds of any handgun before I trust my life with it.

      With the new advancements in guns and tightness in machining you just don’t think of breaking in a 1911, but with kimber yeah you have to break that in unfortunately

    • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  9 місяців тому

      I didn’t say I’ve never heard of it of course most manufacturers speak of a break in period mostly CYA. I’m just saying it hasn’t been my experience that I actually had to do it

    Not a fan of the adjustable sights.

    • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  9 місяців тому +2

      Yeah I can take or leave them personally. On 1911 it’s more classical to have fixed sights but it’s the world we live in I reckon

    Definitely limp wristed that failed to feed, sorry my man. I’ve never ever had a misfeed or failure with my Tisas. 😊
    My only issue has been a quick double tap and second shot , but that’s my own operator error.

    • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  10 місяців тому +2

      I mean I could have been limp wristing for sure. However, with that being said just because you’ve never had an issue with yours doesn’t mean there aren’t Tisas pistols that have given people problems and those people’s issue can’t be dismissed because yours has been good. @@GSquaredTactical agreed, and I was just ribbing you a bit, there's lots of factors that play into how a firearm functions. I have a VP9 that I love, but it shoots poorly with 115gr ammo.

I usually do wear glasses but we had been filming all day like 15 reviews that days and they was giving me a headache so I shot a couple vids without them sue me
