😂😂😂😂😂@@JaredAF
@@JaredAFThank you, this is most specific I ever seen. Thank you!
Tisas Marine Raider being better than the Colt MARSOC contract raider is truly something lmao thanks for vid bud take care! Would love to see you do one on the Raider btw
i have something similar planned
No, it's not Wilson Combat quality, but for $400+ .... I also think the Rock Island Armory pistols are good for the money.
RIA used to have a corner on the affordable 1911 market. They became a victim of their own success and starred going in up price while going down in quality. Currently, if you want a pure 1911A1 clone the Turkish Tisas is a far better pistol than anything Armscor is putting out.
Tisas has honestly been knocking it out of the park with a LOT of guns…curious to try their new 2011 too
I've been thinking about getting a 1911 lately. I have an old Star BM, and I had a Sig P238 and P938 in the past, but I've never had a real 1911, or even shot one. I've been really into CZ handguns for years, and the last one I bought was my used Czechmate, about a year ago. I have a nice trio of CZ's, a Shadow 2, a TS2, and a Czechmate, that I was using at competitions, but I've just been kinda depressed the last couple years.
Not to be a downer, but my dad died in the summer of 2022, and then about a week after she went to his funeral with me and met my extended family and told them about our plans to get married, my fiance ghosted me, and I lost my job I'd had for almost five years a couple weeks later. I couldn't eat or sleep, and I pretty much just broke down crying every other minute. It was really tough.
I got a new job last year, but I'm still hung up on my ex, and my grandma just died this past September, and about 7 weeks ago, we had to have my dog put to sleep. Sorry for rambling; I just took my pre workout drink, so the caffeine makes me chatty.
CZ owns Colt now. and of course Dan Wesson
Hang in there buddy
Hey…her loss, pal. Women are like buses. Wait 15 minutes and another will come along. Hang in there, man.🤙🏻
After decades of Dept issued striker fired pistols, retirement meant that I could finally carry whatever I wanted and on a whim, I bought a Tisas 1911A-1 in 9mm...it required the usual 300 or so round break in period, but ran flawlessly after that & even with the tiny G.I. sights it was easy to fire nice tight groups.
I eventually replaced it with a Springfield Range Officer because of the better sights, but the Tisas is a high quality firearm that I would definitely feel comfortable carrying daily for self defense.
Appreciate all the work you put into these videos. One of my favorite channels I've found recently.
My new favorite guntuber, i’m also a young guy who appreciates old guns, the history behind them makes them more fun to me
Jared, just stumbled across your YT shorts, good stuff man, looking forward to a million subs
Great video! It was very educational. Congrats on your first sponsor
Great video! A long time ago now ….I bought my first handgun, a 1911a1, on my 21st birthday…a Springfield mil spec. At the Mainside PX at Camp Pendleton. I got a kick out of the irony of waiting to be 21, then a lengthy California waiting period to purchase after spending the previous 8 months on deployed toting and firing a SMAW . I later fit a beaver tail and commander hammer to it to address my issue with hammer bite, and replaced the plastic grips. It’s been a good gun. Tisas definitely has my attention. I wouldn’t mind a 9…
Yeah maybe your 9 will be a little better than mine. thanks for the comment, i remember being excited to go to mainside when I was in MCT. still remember going to the mcdonalds on camp pendleton and going to use the bathroom and someone had sprayed diarrhea all over the toilet. like it looked like the dude pulled his pants down and as he went to sit down just painted the tank, seat , everything. i went up to the cashier and was like hey man, the bathroom, and before i could say anything else he nodded his head and was like " i know, i know.."
💣 Coolest gun content on the Tube. 💥

I saw the shorts so much I had to subscribe great work man. Love the glasses.
thanks man
You are one of the best gun tubers I've seen. Thanks for making these videos.
Fantastic video, I love it when you do a video on a gun I'm interested in. I just picked up my Tisas .45 so this kind of thing excites me
You just sold me on one of these, Jared. I was shying away because of the cerakote and modern ejection port. Didn't know they addressed those two problems. Nice to have a modern one to bang away on instead of putting wear on the irreplaceable WW2 vets.
Yeah I was super excited to hear about it, and theyre not much more expensive than the older ones either, like 50-70 bucks more!
Browning Blackbeard with the 6 1911s
My Springfield mill spec with parkerized finish has held up really well throughout the years. I’ve been shooting and carrying it while hiking in a hill people gear chest rig since 2007 or so and is still very nice.
Got the 1911 a1 service special and promptly dropped in Wilson Combat trigger, slide release, mag release, beaver tail grip, extended guide rod and stainless bushing/springs, and g10 handgrips. Worth every penny.
Excellent review from someone who knows their stuff. Thank you
Great 2 second cut of you changing grips.
Keep up the vids bro. Some years ago I got a Rock Island 1911a1 as my first since I wanted something close to an original at a fraction of the price. The grips are wrong, the slide is off, the ejection port isn't "correct" the beavertail would chew up my hand but; it worked right out of the box, the fitment is great, since it was cheaper I could spend my money on ammo and shoot it a bunch, it got me to shoot larger calibers and it's been reliable. I think as an introductory .45ACP, if someone wants to just dip their toes into the caliber, you can't really go wrong with either the RI or the Tisas and spend some of that saved money on some ammo.
Love mine! Git one for my son-in-law when he made Sergeant in the Army.
It's on parnwith my Auto-Ordnance 1911.
This was a really good video Jared, I bought a Tisas after I compared it to a Colt Commercial A1. The Tisas was the same quality with a better trigger for basically 900 dollars less. I really like it. AMOGUS
Got this as my first pistol, loved it so far for the 50 rounds i put through it
High cut ejection ports are a must on classic 1911s. I bought an older model Colt series 70 instead of a new one available in store for that exact reason (and the arched mainspring housing-plus mine has way better bluing than the new Colts) good job Tisas!
Well done, Love my PX9 but have been seriously considering one of these. Starting a Double stack build but later in the year ill pick one of these or their Raider up.
Lemme know how you like the Raider if you scoop it up! I have one of these, and I think the Raider’ll be the next one I pick up.
I just picked up their Patriot 1911 and its pretty awesome - I am definitely a fan of Tisas for producing great guns at a great price.
Jared knocks it out of the park again. I have 2 Tisas1911s. Awesome all the way around.
Very informative video BRO. THANKS!!!!😊👍👍👍👍🤟🤘
These kinds of channels are great if you're looking for quality on a budget. I decided to buy a Rock Island 1911 because of an article and guns and ammo that really put that forward is probably one of the best 1911 clones you can get. It's worked great for me. Just watch several of these videos and see what each one says.
This is the first long form video of yours I’ve watched and I love it!
We’re the A1’s original grips (WWII era) wood or plastic? I thought I heard you say both.
To fix your 9mm problems, try bushing and or longer locking link. That's what sets the lock-up. Replacing the barrel is the last resort.
Excellent review Jared. I'm a Bullseye Shooter (Natl Guards) from the 1970s, and have my share of Colts, target guns, etc. I was impressed enough with Tisas that I bought a whole bucket full of them. I didn't take advantage of the plethora of Norincos when they were $100 guns and everyone started making race guns and other out of them, so I decided I was jumping on this bandwagon with both feet. You are the first person in years that I've seen talking about stippling the front strap. That's the way we did it back them. I suggested it to a guy on the Tisas FB page and that didn't end well. If done properly it's great. And retro.
My local LGS is owned by a guy who was an AMU gunsmith and showed me how to do it. I love the look if the old bullseye 1911s. by the way i put the kensight sights on and put a 5 shot group at 25 yds about a 1.5- 2" group right in the ten ring with 1 scratch 10 on a b-16 offhand. i really want to see if i can take that 4.5" group i put down for the video with GI sights down to like
@@JaredAF It's good to hear your passion for Bullseye shooting and the guns. And, you are shooting groups better than most shooters are capable of. I worked full-time for the Guards and our Senior Armorer was a gunsmith for Camp Perry. He also had a gunsmith business on the side. I had him build me a Colt Wadcutter gun just before I left, and accurize a Colt Satin Nickel Combat Commander. They both have the Kensights on them. I hunt with the Commander. The best advice I can give is to shoot. Then shoot some more. Then some more. I can still remember the day it all fell into place and everything became natural. I had a third of my points for the Distinguished Masters when the President stopped the marksmanship program and I got out of the Guards. Do miss it greatly, and enjoy living it again vicariously through your videos. And yes, I subscribed.
Might pick one of these up
Hey. Congrats on the sponsor.
Love my TISAS. My weak carpal tunnel baby hands struggle with .45 but I can’t deny these are insanely well-built pistols for the price.
I think I need to pick one of these up. I've always been a fan of the as issued 1911a1. I've got a parkerized Springfield that I really like. May have to add a Tisas to the stable. It's just too good of a value not to. Anyways just discovered your channel. Here's another sub from a fellow Texan!
I grabbed a stainless 1911 from tisas not too long ago. The fit and finish was incredible for what I paid. Tisas definitely punches above their weight class when it comes to the quality of their 1911s.
Excellent video, I have a couple of Tisas and agree that they are the best deal going at the moment. I'm looking forward to your review of the JSOC 1911 as I bought the package deal from Buds. Curious about what sight your going to use on your bulls eye gun? I have one minus the rear site, want to get it back into action. Thanks again for the great video
it's the one from kensight, it's the exact same set as a couple of those ones that i showed.
I bought a new Service Special model last year for $349, and I absolutely love it. Haven't shot it yet, but hopefully soon.
I like the writing on the slide better and it matches the color for me in the green color as for the hammer i have the colt design but it's smooth on the sides no three circles like in the video
The guns brought me here, your drip had me staying. But man you know your stuff. Subbed.
I got mine in 2013 and it’s been great. It runs a steady diet of 45 super now. it has been modified to run 45 super. The finish was just spray paint and the advertised stainless barrel was just polished mild steel.
Tisas has come a long way since then!
I really enjoyed your video.
Great video!!!!!
Great video and excellent channel. Is it confirmed “tee sauce” or “tie sass”?
no clue, I say tea sauce and will not be corrected
When I see a vid from JaredAF, I get excitedAF.
thanksAF
Very informative. You Tube took away the Like Button again so keep up the good work.
Great job just bought at 2024 unbelievable quality even for 75-year-old eyes
My Tisas Stakeout feels like a custom gun compared to my old RIA lmao
I think the reason people hate on you is because you talk on old firearm stuff and you don't seem bubbly or meek, you are very confident and sure. That means the "pros" cant talk down to you condecendlingly so they just get mad.
i think a lot of it has to do with the fact I look super young 😂 it's good to be underestimated though. but you know what, I've found out that the youtube comment section is actually the premier location where experts in every field congregate
A sperg after my own heart. I enjoy your channel.
I just bought the 1911A1 ASF in 9mm, there is a little bit of barrel play and zero bushing barrel play and I'm going to shoot it first time tomorrow. I did replace the mag release spring because the original was unbelievably strong and I pulled a little tension out of the trigger spring. It breaks crisp at 3.5-3.75 Lbs. I'm surprised because none of the trigger group is polished, they are all parkerized including the contact points....The ramp is even parkerized! Oh and it has a titanium firing pin... 1911's are all I own and have for over 50 years.
i forgot to mention they have titanium firing pins now
You have some good swagger while shooting one handed.
the way God intended
@@JaredAF you commented. Thank you. I find you to be a knowledgeable and likable young man.
Im thinking about getting one of these and buying some genuine GI grips to put on. Always wanted one of these 1911's but could never find a decent deal on real vintage ones.
Their MAC 1911 JSOC has been flawless with Wilson and Kimber mags, the Mec-Gar mags that come with them have constantly caused jams.
I'm pretty happy with it so far, I need to use it in a couple of matches before I make a review on it though. the only problem I'm finding is trying to find good quality 45
@JaredAF I like Underwood and Buffalo Bore but Speer and Remington are good too for self defense . For the range I usually just stick with Remington and Federal/American Eagle
Tisas great 1911A1 pistol. If Colt has regular production reissue 1911A1 they never can have much in stock. Great video
👉👍👈🖖
Tisas copied JMB's design right down to the convex grip screws... Browning made them that way so that in an emergency the rim of a .45ACP cartridge could be used as a screwdriver to replace them
High ejection port is literally my scalar for purchase/no purchasw
I love my tisas duty
A greenish tint indicates the phosphating compounds used during the Parkerization involved copper sulphate I believe, which I think is the case for some firearms from the mid 20th century. On modern reproductions it *may* have been a deliberate attempt to replicate that look.
Purely opinion here, but I'd agree that from an aesthetics persepective, the pure manganese phosphating (gray/black) definitely looks much better on a classic styled M1911 A1 though.
Yep. My Springfield Operator is parkerized and has rusted like crazy.
Don't know what type of steel they use but Tisas uses a really high quality Chrome Moly Vanadium steel alloy. i think it's 4150, same stuff that barrels are made of and naturally very resistant to rust.
Really great video. 23:38 I've been fixating on 1911A1's for months. I can't quite afford the vintage 1940's Colt gov issued piece that I really want, so I'm happy Tisas makes a clone to snack on for a bit. But frankly, I don't like that the cerakoted Tisas looks like a green plastic toy, so I'm happy to hear about the 2023 changes. I want some scratches. I'd want my Beretta to look sexy and new and my Colt 1911 to look like it's seen shit.
BEST CLONE CZ 1911a1 less than 1000 made, flawless copy tightest 1911 i own. Tisas is a great piece very good clone a litte heavier though.
Just bought the USMC version online, Should be picking it up today. I loved the army version, just wanted one that said “USMC” instead. I heard that they’re kind of hard to find.
The only thing that turned me away from that one is I don't believe there were ever any 1911s marked that way with USMC instead of US ARMY. I think there may have been some marked US NAVY, I'd have to look it up
@@JaredAF I thought MAYBE there would be some. I thought I saw it somewhere, but you might be right.
I know the green was inaccurate but I really liked it. I wish they would offer it as an option. Even if it costs an extra $100
i think they'll still sell it, and it will probably be cheaper
What do you think of auto ordinance version of this?
I have been thinking about purchasing one of these tisas or the auto ordnance repo. I like the fact that the AO is American made but I like the fact the Tisas has a more accurate finish and clean slide. Any thoughts?
Tisas over AO all day
I have the Tisas O.D., GREEN 1911A1 GOVERNMENT 45ACP Model, and I don't have a problem with U.S. Army being stamped on the side of it.
Laughing about the habit mention at the end of the video. Haven’t even bought one yet, and I’m already on board for a Tank Commander and a Raider.
I enjoy Jared being chaotic neutral at the beginning of the video
😈
Did all of the first version have Cerakote rather than Parkerization? I ask because there's one available on PSA rn that claims to be Parkerized but the ejection port and markings don't resemble those on the Armed Services Family model.
Easiest way is to cross reference the UPC Code between PSA and Tisas' pages
You failed to mention the A1 has not a flat main spring housing
I’m so pissed that I got the older version I’ve had it for 5 months now I didn’t know about the new one.
I own one of those and like it
I think people steal clips from your vids and shit on them because they're jealous of your success and knowledge (something they will never achieve). Love the vids man.
Is it possible to get a video of a Canik pistol? I own a SFT Canik and would love a review on it from someone with more knowledge than myself.
Again, thanks for the great vids
i do not, no. i also unfortunately don't have a lot of interest in them. maybe some time in the far off future. thanks for watching
@JaredAF big thanks man. Thanks for the reply
@@SqueakiestChair no problem dude have a great weekend 💪💪💪
@@SqueakiestChair i will probably do a ppq final edition vid. isn't one of the caniks based off that?
@@JaredAF you as well. Stay blessed
I have had 3 Colt 1911s and I will never buy another one. Fit and finish and trigger has been better on my last two Tisas I bought. Accuracy was literally the same.
You don't like the serial number being on the left side because it is not accurate to the original, then you don't like the front sight because it is accurate to the original? I got one during the Black Friday sale this past November. I did not know there was another revision. I was so happy to see the stamping gone from the left side of the slide, and happy to see the stampings on the right side of the frame. I was shocked to learn it was actually parkerized. For $300 I am not expecting a museum accurate replica. Heck, for that kind of money I don't expect a gun as good as these are. But I am very happy they are available. Its so fun to shoot, is even more accurate than I am (makes me look good), and looks good next to my wife's 1945 M1 Garand.
IIRC the round front sight went away around end of 41, start of 42 and replaced with the ramped/serrated front sight. it's supposed to replicate a remington rand and Remington rand i believe never used that style front sight, it would only be on an early colt slide. considering that 90%of the M1911A1s made were made after pearl harbor, the vast majority of m1911a1s should have the ramped front sight.
@@JaredAF - That is a fair enough argument.
@@JaredAF all of these clones are a hodgepodge of features.
I 100% agree with you but at least a front sight is easier to fix than an ejection port.
What about the rear sight?
@@dwightdhansen rear sight looks good but the notch is a little wider than the originals
1911s have been meh for me. Got a Canadian Para during the ban that’s a tack driver but only feeds ball. Got a nice stainless Colt Commander within the last decade, but I shoot my P220s better. I may give one of these Tisas a try. I picked up 3 of the PX9 Gen 3s of theirs when they were $250 and really like them.
What's the c-clamp looking tool at the top of the table at 9:08 ? Does that adjust sites er'something?
Micrometer, precision measuring tool
I got one of the original Tias 1911s
What do you think about rock island compared to the tisas?
they seem fine, never liked their styling though
I have the cerakoted one and shot it with lead free ammo that fell off a truck. Accuracy was horrible. I’ve got some reloads loaded up and need to get to the range to make sure the gun isn’t just terrible
Good video
🕋
Have you checked out Joe Chambers, Chambers Cusroms 1911 math videos?
It's a budget firearm for a reason.
Get you an X frame govt model with match grade barrel
Tisas brand M 1911 compare to Springfield 45 1911 which one is better?
never owned one. from handling a few, similar quality at a waaaay lower price point
I don't know anything about tisas other than the guns are made in Turkey. How is the durability? Do they hold up over time and a few thousand rounds?
I think if you put enough rounds through it to destroy one and you write to tisas they'd probably give you a new one as a reward 😂 these guns are better built than the originals, through-hardened slides et al, I'm sure you'd literally need a battalion of MPs running a train on these pistols to truly wear them out. small parts breakages after several thousand rounds is normal. your springs should be being replaced at intervals of several thousand rounds.
JaredAF, thank you for the reply. Interesting firearm.
Spanish Astra STAR☆BM is great.
Ever work with the auto ordinance 1911s?
I've handled one at a cabelas and they have a few anachronisms I'm not a fan of. the one i handled had a much later style large commercial safety instead of the small GI one. from what i read and hear theyre solid though. made in usa if you care about that still
I had no idea someone else had nightmares of my guns rusting😢
What us the name of the (parkerized) newest Tisas 1911? Like the exact name on their website? Just want to look at the right one.
