- Hiking to the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau Alaska might involve traversing slippery rock, navigating around a flooded trails, scrambling up a few steep spots and the slightest amount of bushwhacking, but in my opinion is totally worth it!!
Epic. What a magical land.
Great to see the drone shots of Mendenhall. I live nearby but haven't been on the glacier itself. That water is incredible. Excellent videography of the celebration! Love that shot of the drum vibrating! Good work 👍
You should have seen it back in 1977. The face of the glacier was hundreds of feet high and 1 mi wide. It basically touched Thunder Mountain on the east side and Bullard Mountain on the west side. Just a little bit of that rock Peninsula was showing back in 1977. It breaks my heart every time I see it. It's like a slow slow death.
Looks amazing mind sharing how long it took you?
How much time do you need to reasonably carve out to do this hike and back?
Nice beers, but ten years ,without, whee
Sometimes I just can't believe home 🏔️ blue indeed! ...also unbelievable how much the Mendenhall has receded in such a short span of time 😳😞
