  • Our hiking team of 3, with the help of our boat captain Bob from Amilia Works, were able to reach the rim of Mount Edgcumbe on Kruzof Island across the water from Sitka. Southeast Alaska and the Tongass National Forest really know how to shred you on your way to the summit of most peaks in the area, but thanks to a well maintained trail climbing this iconic, active volcano is a simple a 14 mile, 3200ft leg stretcher. Standing on the red and yellow edge of this cloud shrouded crater on a crisp fall day with a whipping wind was a surreal experience that I did my best to capture in this video. Thank you for watching!
