Picked up a Gen2 in '98( during the AWB) Used factory rebuild, probably a police trade in.came with 3pre-ban mags. With pre-ban mags going for around a bill back then, paying five twenty five wasn't a bad deal.Still have it,still carry and shoot it.
I started out with the original G17 many years ago and have owned and still do own several Glocks in different calibers and models...All of them have fired and functioned flawlessly. Just added this Gen 5 17 to my small collection, and it is as expected, excellent. I'm in your camp as to my preferred caliber for self defense, the .45 acp. I already had a G30sf, and just today, I bought a G30S for edc. I own and have owned many other brands of handguns, but no matter what, if it comes down to which one I trust to defend my life or my family, it's a Glock. Confidence is what you carry. I do like the full-size duty pistols like the G17, and my G22 .40 caliber, and my G21. I think reasonable minds would agree that while smaller guns conceal better, bigger guns are much easier to get rounds on target with. Great video brother 👍
That is very odd. I also have an early G19. I personally have never had an issue with either one. Anything is possible. I actually owned a 2023 Honda Civic that Honda bought back because it was basically a lemon. So like I said anything is possible

Thank you for watching. I carry a G30s as my EDC everyday of my life
@@TerryBenton would you mind telling me which holster you use? I'm in the market for one for my new G30s
@@stephenkidder8876 I personally use a gun trap soft IWB holster. That is what works for me
@@TerryBenton thank you
Bro, you have the og gen 5, I love the non fs gen 5’s.
Oh yeah. I also have the no front serrations gen 5 G19
The best one, don’t own one, bought the 19 as my first handgun in 08. The 17 is still the #1 handgun in my eyes.
They are awesome guns. Full size frame and 17 rd mags.
I got info from Glock that their Gen6 will have rounded corners in the rear edges of the slide instead.
Nice info. Thanks for watching
@@TerryBenton Gen7 will have rounded corners both front and rear. About Gen8 no information yet.
Gen8 is with finger grooves.
Brother in law got a early gen 5 Glock 19 and weirdly enough his took about 500ish rounds to run without any malfunctions
