I stumbled upon your channel few days ago. I am 73, and like my late husband, I am an avid Apple fan. I have iPhone 11, iPad, and Apple Watch. I am always Googling to find out about the security features and how I could make the most of my devices. Your channel is just what I need. I am in UK, and it is so nice to hear the British accent. I like your style of explaining. I have subscribed to your channel.
Very thoughtful and informative content creator, explanations are very organized and well thought out and presentation is exceptional. Thank you Proper.
I am always amazed at how little I actually know about something I have been using for so long. Thank goodness that you are here to point it out and make my life easier!
Great video. One point to note... At 4:47 when you are talking about activating the Hide IP address options, the only way you get the options to block Trackers and Websites is to have iCloud+ (which you say), but you also have to have Private Relay activated.
Great tips. Note though that the tab swipe will only work with Tab Bar at the bottom and not if you’re using the top single Tab Bar! Choose which you want in Safari settings.
Very helpful tutorial and delivered in a calm way. Looking forward to watching more.Thank you.
Thank you for these clever and clearly explained tutorials. I am able to follow, although I often have to go back and double check. I am so grateful for your work. Thank you from someone who is very old.
Change upload image size: This is why I am here. Uploading images has always created hurdles because of the image size. I had no idea how simple and quick it can be to resize the image. Thanks for that. Keep up the great work!
It's such a useful feature, and for the life of me I don't understand why it doesn't also exist on Mac, where you would think it would be the easiest to implement.
The same for me. The most surprising feature to me and one of the smartest in safari 🙏🏼
This is a very helpful tutorials ! I’m learning a lot and discovering so much that helped me how to deal with my phone. Thanks for having a tutorial channel like this.
I love using reader view. Not every page has it, but most. It’s helpful especially when ads cause the page to jump and then I lose my place. And now there’s a listen to page feature where Siri can read the article to you. And you can still listen when the screen is locked. Pretty cool
Another great video - thanks, I always learn something really useful from your videos, for example in this one, I just wasn’t aware of the camera/reader text feature which is brilliant! Especially with the translation element (albeit limited languages) and as far as the voice recognition is concerned, I agree with you, it is far more accurate now than it has been in years gone by and I use it all the time - including dictating this comment :-)……I rarely use a keyboard anymore - far quicker and much easier just to talk to my devices :-)
Oh man, the image resizer is a game changer! Thank you very much!
Some great tips, especially the picture resize option.
I love this kind of videos. Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
Another great tutorial. The big one for me this time was dictating the search query. Of course, I knew that microphone Icon was there but never thought to use it. I think it comes of the agonies of experimenting with early speech recognition (20-30 years ago).
So thank you!
Really enjoy watching your vids. You speak slowly enough and the photos accompanying what you are speaking about are always so helpful. Thanks
,
Thoughtful and concise tips. No filler conten! Thank you. I enjoyed learning more How to efficiently use Apple products.
Once again, you explain in easy to understand detail how to get the most out of Apple software and hardware. Your channel is a true gem. Thank you!
Another excellent and helpful iPhone user tutorial. I’ve certainly gained very useful tips and advice from having viewed. Hiding your IP is a very advisable point of information and I highly recommend people do follow your suggestion on that particular privacy issue. And on security I’d suggest disabling both AutoFill and Check for Apply Pay features. Finally I’d check Fraudulent Website Warning is turned on. Thank you very much Proper Honest Tech for your expertise and the content provided herein.
Recently new subscriber. Love the channel and the videos they have helped me a lot. Even things I thought I knew or was well versed I was still able to learn some new stuff. Thanks man appreciate your videos
Great tips! and you have one of the best english pronunciations for non english natives, super easy to understand! 👍🏻
Tom - I just discovered your channel, and I really like your instructional videos - easy to follow, and not your everyday tips. Thanks!
Thank you! I’m glad you’re finding the content useful, I really appreciate the comment!
Thanks for your tips. The image upload size is a great one I’d wish i knew. Every now and again I have to upload a passport style images for Accreditations and had to jump through a few hoops to get the images down to size. Thanks will be using that one in the future. The only tip I can’t seem to get working is the use your thumb to swipe between tabs. Just can get that to work. Keep up the good work.
Your presentations are 5 Star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Very good tutorial, very easy to follow and great info
terrific tips...thanks so much!:)
Great tips! Much thanks 🙏🏾
Great, as always. Thanks.
Great presentation well made, nice volume and pace.
Great iPhone tips for using Safari. Thanks!
Wow, great tutorial, thanks 😊
Thank you great tips I was aware of.
Thanks for the info!!!!
Very good, keep on posting your great videos, super instructive and very good to know :-)
TY Very helpful please do more :)
Regarding "Reader View by Default", it's also possible to enable that for certain sites - just click the jigsaw piece next to the URL in the search/URL bar. Great video!
Great tips. I’m one of those people that leave several tabs open so the group in ability really helps. Also speaking text messages instead of typing helps me a lot too as I am vision limited. Thanks again
I like him help teaching about our phones
How helpful are your little blue arrows to change settings?? VERY!! Thx for your videos and ease to follow!!! New subscriber!
Thank you for this video my search bar was on the bottom of page now I know how to put it back on top
Great content, thank you
Thank you 👍🏼
For Reader View, it's also possible to simply hold down the AA/puzzle piece button and it will then enable.
On a larger screen (iPad or desktop) the new custom folders in the sidebar are my favorite change in Safari. I treat them as my ever-changing Projects, rather than my much more permanent Subjects in the Favorites bar. This has completely changed the usefulness of Safari for me. At any time, you can drag any tab in the main window into one of those custom folders (Projects in my scenario) thus reducing the memory load on the device and refining your custom folders at the same time. I can never live without this brilliant functionality. One change I would like to see is the ability to nest these folders.
You can do Control F in Safari by tapping on the share arrow and then scrolling down until you see “find on page.” Now you can search for whatever word you’re looking for on that webpage like you would on a desktop
Very good explanation
Good video content. Can you cover select all in Safari? I like the read out loud feature
A good thing about Safari is that you can tap on the aA and increase the text size. This is very useful for people who have to use reading glasses.
LOVE UR CHANNEL
Good info.
blood hell mate that was an awesome video thanks for the tips
Thank you for another great video! Have you looked at Microsoft Edge for Mac? I would love to see you do a video comparing it to Chrome and Safari!
Usefully like the top notch, overall nice view from top of the world with a notch.
The best video guy in the GAME ⚡️⚡️
I enjoyed the video, as there more electric cars on the they should add public charging points on the map like petrol stations
Useful.
Great tips.I have a question regarding Hiding IP address settings. When I go to Safari --> Privacy setting I only have the possibility to Off or Trackers only. I don't have Trackers and Websites.
Splendid
I’m impressed by how well siri voice worked for you
I have seen an IPad 2019 lock up completely until the tabs (web pages) open in the background, until I removed them. After moving them the tablet returned to normal operation. I now do this every few days and all is fine on my phone and pad. Cheers
One thing I’ve always searched for is how to close all of my tabs. I’ve never figured this out.
i only use Safari on the Mac and iPhone is the best browser ever!
Well done…
I would have chosen another title…
(but I understand the need to stand out for the bunch)
but well done, well done!
Yay 👏👏👍
Please do a comparison video on Brave vs safari vs chrome vs FireFox
Very good tips however some of the screen shots that you show are not the same on my 2022 IPhone 13. For instance the “show info” about a photo. Mine is just not like that. Cheers from Brazil. Yes I am running IOS 15 in English.
Thank your for the video. I have iCloud+ but don’t get the option to hide IP address from “trackers and websites”. Do you know why this may be the case?
1:25 implementing this would require 1 “for loop”, this would be so easy for Apple to implement, the function of searching for words within a webpage already exists idk why you think it would be “difficult to implement” 💀
Hmm I have iPhone 12 Pro update 15.4 but no option to block websites only trackers
Will the safari settings give you the option of hiding IP address from websites also if you’re simply family sharing an iCloud plus membership from another?
Also, what other sort of hidden features are there of iCloud plus/apple one?
Went opening a page give it a long press and it pulls up a history of other websites you’ve been to and you can select from there
Thanks for all the helpful tips . Sorry if this has been asked and answered elsewhere . With the latest iOS update on my iPad, I've noticed that every page I open in Safari , I get a pop-up asking to sign into my Google account. It's highly annoying , I've tried everything to get rid off it. I normally use private browsing mode , have even tried turning that off...nothing. Google is my default search engine, have tried others , tried switching between safari and Chrome as browsers...nothing. Have even gone into my google account and turned off "use Google to sign into 3rd party sites" ....and still nothing . Does anyone have any solutions to getting rid of this pop-up ? Thanks in advance.
A browser which disables a managing of margins when overflow css rule is set to hidden, goes to Netscape’s grave straight. And can survive only inside an iOS greenhouse
I don’t see the microphone to dictate search terms. How do I get the microphone to show up?
How do I make Safari my default browser? iPhone 11 Pro Max. Thank you
Its amazing until you hit bookmarks on the mac, its like impossible to organize bookmarks! So many glitches
Very useful! But why anyone would want to use Chrome is beyond me. Are there Chromium alternatives for iPhone, that don't call home to Google? 🙂
Safari for iPhone. Any videos on Safari for Mac?
As I started using Google Docs through Safari, I noticed it won't paste without formatting. So I pick up a text from a PDF file (cmd + C) and I just can't paste it on the google doc without having to reformat the whole thing. =/ It only has the cmd + V option.
I can only block trackers. The option to block websites doesn’t exist or has disappeared on my iPhone mini.
You didn’t this for a Mac, how does it work with an iPad?
Ok, tab wars: How many tabs do you have open right now?
Me?
I have 500…
Did you know? I’d have more if safari allowed me to have more than 500 ;)
Genuine question - what's the reason for having so many open at the same time?
Literally pausing after every tip to adjust my settings!
I prefer Firefox in every way.
My safari app is taking up 3gb of storage even after clearing all data in the settings. I can’t find a fix for this online outside of master resetting the phone and it’s driving me NUTS
I use Brave. But I don't like it on iOS compared to Android.
For some reason Safari says I'm not connected to the internet so I don't bother.
I have only hide ip from trackers nothing website
Still it doesn't support PWAs tho (on Mac)
nobody uses something wrong. If you need a manual to use something the UX design team failed, and at apple that is a continuing trend.
I don’t even use safari, installed Google chrome and deleted it :)
Yet you watched, and felt the need to comment on, a video about Safari?
@@ProperHonestTech it just popped up on my feed, good to know that safari is more private
I use chrome not safari
Sorry, no it’s not.
I find handoff works much better for me than airdropping a page. It’s been rock solid for me and faster…
Handoff used to be flawless for me, and for whatever reason these days, it's all over the place. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not.
Another great tutorial. The big one for me this time was dictating the search query. Of course, I knew that microphone Icon was there but never thought to use it. I think it comes of the agonies of experimenting with early speech recognition (20-30 years ago).
