Windows actually has that cool window snapping feature patented so Apple can't really implement it in that way. However There Are many third-Party apps like Rectangle and Magnet which includes window snapping and much more customization options
Things like document preview can be done on Windows too, but it does require an app, being either the MS Power Toys or a third party one. You can choose which functionality you want to enable and can define most shortcuts to functions in PowerToys freely. PowerToys can also do many other things, like reconfiguring your keyboard's key layout; just be careful if you move keys around, as you can end up losing access to some key(s) on your keyboard. Trying to swap two keys and forgetting to redefine both of them is not good...

So in our company, associates and middle managers get Windows laptops that usually only come with an i5 processor while seniors and heads get Macbooks. One meeting, our boss told our team of 6 that he finally got approval from IT that our team can switch to Mac. When nobody was responding, he asked for a show of hands if anybody wanted to switch and not a single one of us raised our hands lol. Honestly, I think some things would definitely be faster using an M1 but once you're used to almost everything that Windows has to offer such as a clipboard history, instantly snapping tiles, and knowing more than your fair share of Windows shortcuts, I get incredibly frustrated when I use a Mac.

@@SOTP. Yes, I know you can use multiple desktops on Windows, but these are no replacements for fullscreen applications. Plus, it's not the intended way on Windows. On Windows, maximizing a window will maximize it on the same desktop, so you would need to manually move it to another virtual desktop to have the same effect. In Windows I can preview even multiple app windows and quickly play pause music for example directly from the taskbar without opening the app. Super handy and useful. Apple being stubborn even removed the media control from taskbar feature from the new Apple Music app on Windows to give users a Mac like old school vibe. great video! i think if apple improved the dock and the closing system, and maybe they allowed it to run on other branded machines MacOS would probably be the modt popular/most loved os.
Licensing MacOS to other manufacturers like HP or Dell would ultimately ruin its reputation. Yeah, 256GB of storage on the baseline MacBooks today is a joke - but it is incredibly fast storage, exactly enabling the File Preview and Spotlight Search functions to perform so effortlessly fast. MacOS experience is polished precisely because it is curated; and if it isn't curated by Apple themselves anymore, then the quality would drop tremendously. Just look at how many laptops manufacturers like Asus, Acer and Lenovo churn out every year... I reckon that many models per year just create gargantuan amounts of e-waste nobody is talking about.
Great video. The good thing about Desktop OSes is as you said the ability to bring many features from the competition. On Windows for example, Powertoys from Microsoft adds similar features like Spotlight Search (which is way better than the built in one), some new options for pictures in the right click menu in explorer and Quicklook.

3:43 HUGE MISCONCEPTION, on windows 10 AND 11 closing a window by hitting the X does NOT stop the app from running. It just shuts off the visual. In the bottom right there's a little arrow. That will show primary background process and should alwalys be how you close apps.
doesnt it still ask the app to close itself? it may be the window but if the program is just… that window, then it should be gone. End task does bruteforce it though.

I love your videos so much. Been binge watching your videos for the last couple months and it seriously helped me to get used to my M2 Air 💕
This truly means a lot to me! Thank you 😊
I've been using a Mac for 14 years and never knew about pressing the spacebar to preview a file. That's crazy... Thank you!
I really enjoy watching your videos. The effort you put into them is impressive, and the editing is incredible. The way you change clothes throughout is a unique implementation that I’ve never seen before. Your channel is truly underrated but deserves much more recognition. Kudos to you, man!
Great comparison video. One of the most honest videos without any bias toward any operating system. Though you missed one crucial feature that Windows has forever but Mac lacks. Previews of app windows and quick controls on Dock and Task bar. In Windows I can preview even multiple app windows and quickly play pause music for example directly from the taskbar without opening the app. Super handy and useful. Apple being stubborn even removed the media control from taskbar feature from the new Apple Music app on Windows to give users a Mac like old school vibe. Also missed the useful app specific volume control. I can be in a Zoom or Teams meeting and keep that volume to 10 and open a movie on Netflix and have it at 60 LOL
Man, you're 100% right. totally forgot to mention this - probably one of the most important multitasking features Windows offers. So thank you for filling the gap - and for the great feedback!
+++
this is legendary thanks, but also mentioned that many of the features lacking can be overcomed with free and opensource tools and softwares also, though i know u r making native os diffrences. well made video man keep up the good work
Thanks again, man! True, there are tons of apps bringing the lacking features to the Mac.
Can’t even begin to understand the amount of effort going into these videos! Great one, as always! Thank you
Thank you so much for watching another one and leaving such kind words! Yep, this was the most difficult video I've ever made, so your words mean a lot :)
The face cam being played on the current OS is genius!!!
Thank you 🙏
10:14 Oh yeah, I forgot that Cortana got killed
But they got copilot
@@Lucas_Lin to be fair, copilot does a better job. It's not perfect, just liek any AI, but it can assist with MANY more things, and somehow seems to know about the surface products themselves.
Hey man, just wanted to say your videos are perfect and fun to watch in every single way
I dont even have a mac (although im planning on getting one) and i have started watching all your videos
Also, i can easily see you reach a million this year
All love man ❤
Man, thank you so much for your kind words and support, I really appreciate that!
Anytime mate 😁
Ok but why tf am i watching this when i am a full time linux user 😭💀
real
Linux is 100 times better than mac. So you don't have to worry about anything.
@@C1Nuke I was going to install linux because it is lightweight. However, I found it annoying that it doesnt support msoffice since i use it a lot for working. I know there is libreoffice but it is kinda outdated and has less features..
Exactly. This is like watching 2 neighbors fight.
@@potatomonkie-ur6zq LibreOffice works fine.
I'm not expert office worker but I haven't seen really anything that Libre misses.
I love the way you make formulas in there like it's code syntax, unless it's the same on MSOffice
Channel seems underatted, just subbed
Thank you! Welcome to the channel!
I am researching on which Mac to buy and am currently using my father's, your tips definitely help, keep up the good work
Your videos are actually insane. Your editing is next level and I love how in depth you go with the features
Such 🔥 videos. Crazy good editing!
Thank you man 😊 I appreciate the great feedback!
This video is amazing
your editing is really over-the-top!
Keep the hard work, good luck
Thank you so much! 😊 Really motivates me to keep going!
Your editing is so amazing bro ❤❤
Thanks man, I genuinely appreciate your kind words 😊
Dude, I just randomly watched your video and while I was watching it I felt you would have a million subscribers. Your editing is just too too much great, it is so attractive that at times I wasn't listening to what you are saying but rather focusing on your editing.
Nice video Vince! Cool editing!
editing is crazy good, and not having bias is refreshing, great video!
Thanks for the kind words, that's great to hear, especially succeeding in making it as unbiased as possible!
mrwhosetheboss
The editing on this video is out of this world
Much appreciated!
THE VIDEO IS SO WELL MADE WOW
Nice, all the things that have been bothering me about both OS for years in one video 😂 Keep up good work
On windows, you can use multiple desktops, show some app only on one desktop or on all at the time, and swithc between using Ctrl+Win+Arrows
(Mey be usefull for somebody)
Thanks for mentioning it! Super useful!
Something to consider, window snapping feature, is actually patented by Microsoft Inc., Cannonical and some Linux distributions are continuously licensing the feature to be able to use it. Apple just doesn t care to license it.
Interesting! Thanks for mentioning it!
How can such a trivial software feature be patented?
@@jblbasstester6198because it is useful, and was just implemented on Aero Snap during Vista development. It was something simple, but very useful, so they patented. No other OS at the time, had the feature, neither XP or Linux. They can patent anything they want. Patent No. 9,423,923,
9,423,938, and 9,423,954 by MS was filled many years ago.
@@jblbasstester6198it’s the same as live saving medication that can be patented and to be honest you can live with non snapping windows but not without your medication.

Editing 📈📈📈
I like your videos so much. I am really excited about your style and video editing, it looks really fresh. Content is also your strong point because you show really useful things unlike other youtubers who just show the obvious things.
Excellent video. Factual and non-judgmental. Very stylish editing!
9:52 Bro uninstalled 9,83 GB of Batman for a video
Always had a good time with this game 😢
2:03 doesn't the File Explorer's preview pane do all that? I've spun around 3d object files in it before too
Just found your channel, ordered my first ever Macbook. Really enjoying your vids, and editing.
Awesome! Thank you!
Holy I loved this style of making this video. Loved this unique ee
Windows restore point is very good too
0:48 "Multiple tabs", you have the ability on macOS to add multiple tabs even BEFORE you could do that on windows...
And? He shows the tabs feature just a couple seconds after
great video! i think if apple improved the dock and the closing system, and maybe they allowed it to run on other branded machines MacOS would probably be the modt popular/most loved os.
Good point! It's crazy that it has so little marketshare... Thanks for watching, Cassius!
I love videos like this. You aren't bashing any of the OS's, you are just showing the actual features.
Exactly my intention - thanks for leaving such great feedback!
Wow. Your skills on editing and presenting are not even the most astonishing things about this video. Amazing work.
Cortana: Am I a joke to you?
cortana was deprecated
Yes
Great video. The good thing about Desktop OSes is as you said the ability to bring many features from the competition. On Windows for example, Powertoys from Microsoft adds similar features like Spotlight Search (which is way better than the built in one), some new options for pictures in the right click menu in explorer and Quicklook.
Thanks for mentioning it, that's good to know!
Don't forget about the new file preview feature in powertoys, just like with MacOS!
for file tiling: macos sequoia coming in clutch
The level of editing is simply spectacular, great comparison video.
Awesome, thank you!
I just randomly saw this video thumbnail and didn't expect myself to enjoy watching this video so much. It's really informative but so enjoyable to watch. 😆
1:10 they’re often incorrect. I can transfer 0 bytes and see a transfer speed, I can cancel a transfer entirely and it still tells me how fast it isn’t going.
It shows that at what speed that was traveling at.
That's like saying you can't go 120km/h just cause you only wanna go 1km away
We need a combination of them both. We can call it iWindows.
Fr, i need a laptop with the windows performance and Macos, HOW HARD IS THAT, APPLE!😭😭
Thank you for this video! Something that struck me recently.. have you considered reviewing the differences between ipados and macos? I know it seems goofy but there's a lot of cross inspiration and hidden key commands. It feels a little bit like if they could make an operating system now versus what they knew back then.
Hey, thank you again! Always happy to see you in the comments. And I appreciate the suggestions, that's an interesting idea I haven't really thought about yet. It's already in my Notes app - sounds like it could be a great video :)
Love the small details you put into filming this. Great video
Glad you enjoyed them 😊
The amount of editing of this video is insane. Love it bruv.
Fun fact : apple added snapping in the new macos Sequoia
After 15 years of windows having it?

that some cool editing going around in this video that ive never seen anywhere...loved it
The effort and thought to maintain every tiny detail is wholesome
KDE Plasma has more than these features LMAO
2:00 But windows does have that, you just gotta press ALT+P
sure.. but isnt it just only previewing inside the file explorer not a seperated window, and you still can't do much there.
He's talking about the full preview window, not the info sidebar
3:43 HUGE MISCONCEPTION, on windows 10 AND 11 closing a window by hitting the X does NOT stop the app from running. It just shuts off the visual. In the bottom right there's a little arrow. That will show primary background process and should alwalys be how you close apps.
doesnt it still ask the app to close itself? it may be the window but if the program is just… that window, then it should be gone. End task does bruteforce it though.
@@SOTP. Depends on the programs defaults but honestly the amount of people I've been asked to help because they're computer is slow and this is most of the problem is almost all of them.
@@SOTP. last time I checked, I noticed the "end task" button can completely be ignored on windows by the app. some anti-virus (or virus) cannot be killed this way.
@az-kalaak6215 go to details > end task
@@SOTP. end task does not work if the window is irresponsive as all it does is click the x button. has it been replaced by the end procedd button?

@@siripupriyan And when you buy a laptop with a Microsoft system at the same price as a Mac laptop, its performance will be significantly better than that of a Mac laptop.
@@Ali_Mahdi1 oh ya may be you are right da
@@Ali_Mahdi1 depends on which laptop you're getting, if it has a graphics card then most definitely blows it out of the water. However most work/productivity windows laptops that are similarly priced only has a CPU with iGpu which at that point mac is the no brainer unless you prefer/need windows
Edit: I'm talking in assumption someone's budget would be less than 2K USD for such laptops
@@Xanzkin Yes, it is true, it all depends on the laptop that you will get, although laptops that provide graphics cards are much better, but my laptop does not have a graphics card, but rather runs on Intel Core i 5 8th generation, and Office works more than excellent. In the end, it all depends on the performance and specifications of the laptop, not on whether it is Windows or Mac.
Windows is superior
