  • Here is what you'll need!
    Cauliflower Rice
    Serves 1
    INGREDIENTS
    1 cauliflower head
    PREPARATION
    1. Remove all leaves and cut the cauliflower into small florets.
    2. Place the florets in a food processor and blend until they are a rice-like texture. Be careful not to over process or it may turn mushy. Set aside, and drain excess moisture with a towel, if desired.
    Sesame Chicken Fried “Rice”
    Serves 3-4
    INGREDIENTS
    1 chicken breast, diced
    2 cups peas & carrots
    2 tablespoons soy sauce
    2 teaspoons black pepper
    1 recipe cauliflower rice
    3 eggs, beaten
    2 tablespoons sesame seeds
    PREPARATION
    1. In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, cook the chicken until no pink is showing. Add the peas, carrots, soy sauce, and black pepper.
    2. Stir until most of the liquid has reduced, then add the cauliflower rice. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables and chicken are incorporated evenly into the cauliflower.
    3. Spread the rice towards the edge of the pan, creating a well in the center.
    4. Pour the beaten eggs into the well, stirring only the eggs until they are cooked.
    5. Fold the eggs into the rice, then mix in the sesame seeds.
    6. Serve!
    Beef & Broccoli Fried “Rice”
    Serves 3-4
    INGREDIENTS
¾ pound flank steak, sliced into small strips
    2 cups broccoli florets
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon black pepper
    2 tablespoons soy sauce
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    1 recipe cauliflower rice
    PREPARATION
    1. In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, cook the steak until no pink is showing. Add the broccoli, salt, pepper, soy sauce, and brown sugar.
    2. Cook for 4-5 minutes until most of the liquid has reduced.
    3. Add the cauliflower rice, then cook for about 3-4 more minutes.
    4. Serve!
    Veggie Fried “Rice”
    Serves 3-4
    INGREDIENTS
    ½ onion, diced
    1 red bell pepper, diced
    1 green bell pepper, diced
    1 yellow bell pepper, diced
    2 cups mushrooms, sliced
    2 teaspoons salt
    1 teaspoon pepper
    1 recipe cauliflower rice
    3 eggs, beaten
    PREPARATION
    1. In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, cook onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, salt, and pepper until vegetables are tender but not soft.
    2. Add the cauliflower rice. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are incorporated evenly into the cauliflower.
    3. Spread the rice towards the edge of the pan, creating a well in the center.
    4. Pour the beaten eggs into the well, stirring only the eggs until they are cooked.
    5. Fold the eggs into the rice.
    6. Serve!
    Garlic Pork Fried “Rice”
    Serves 3-4
    INGREDIENTS
    2 pork chops, diced
    4 cloves garlic, finely diced
    ½ onion, sliced
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon pepper
    2 tablespoons soy sauce
    ¼ cup honey
    1 recipe cauliflower rice
    3 eggs, beaten
    ½ cup green onions, sliced
    PREPARATION
    1. In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, cook the pork until no pink is showing, then add the garlic, onions, salt, pepper, soy sauce, and honey, stirring until the sauce has started to brown.
    2. Stir until most of the liquid has reduced, then add the cauliflower rice. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the pork is incorporated evenly into the cauliflower.
    3. Spread the rice towards the edge of the pan, creating a well in the center.
    4. Pour the beaten eggs into the well, stirring only the eggs until they are cooked.
    5. Fold the eggs into the rice, then mix in the green onions
    6. Serve!

for anyone wondering, the reason you would make a "fried rice" without rice is because it's healthier, has more fiber, less carbs.

But rice isn't any less healthy...this is just a low carb diet

Eben Noble correct, more calories does not necessarily mean less healthy, but for many people it does, especially the demographic this video is targeted to, aka those on a diet. Cauliflower is healthier than rice though, as rice is empty of the many nutrients that cauliflower has

For those who haven't tried cauliflower "rice", it's such a simple, versatile, and delicious alternative to carbs. I'm recently starting a keto diet, and boy, cauliflower was my support when I had to break up with rice (my main staple food).
I would still suggest using a food processor like what Tasty did, it's easy and convenient. As for the cauliflower, it doesn't look mushy (unless you overkill it with pulsing), but it does have a similar appearance and texture to couscous.

How about the taste? Is it same as rice?

    • @JurgenCutters

@@powerrangerspink2387 of course not. It tastes like califlower

    • @ivarlosna6516

@@powerrangerspink2387 Well, rice is quite neutral in taste, so is cauliflower. If you use it to eat with something like Thai food you never notice the taste of the rice anyway. All the strong flavors and heat overwhelm the rice already and it will overwhelm the cauliflower as well.

These look kinda mushy. I've made it before but I usually don't pre cook my cauliflower, I pulse it until it's rice- like and throw it in a hot pan with a bit of oil. The key is to get it crispy not mushy, if I mix it with other things I do it at the end so the cauliflower doesn't go soft.

    • @queenofthorns6746

    • @RobinOrzo
      @RobinOrzo 7 років тому +71

Moonlight L it's not fried, a tablespoon of oil hardly makes it unhealthy. Macro wise it's still a better option than rice, a fraction of the calories and way less carbs. So yeah it's surly still healthy.

    • @ndufcat6213
      @ndufcat6213 7 років тому +19

She also over pulsed them. The cauliflower is not supposed to start sticking together when put in the food processor. You are right, she should have cooked the other things separate then added the cauliflower last just to mix in the flavors and cook slightly.

  • @Totsudon

For all the "mushy" comments, if you cook it right (no overcooking and drain it properly), it doesnt get mushy. This is a perfect replacement for rice, some people have to go LCHF for medical reasons or just for diet (works really well)

I tweeked this so it was Whole30 compliant. Instead of peas I diced some zucchini and replaced the soy sauce with coconut aminos which is similar but a tad sweeter. I added in some green onion as well. All in all it wasn't bad. I wouldn't eat it a lot but once in a while. Makes a bunch so it will last but my wife won't eat it. LOL But it wasn't horrible. It's not rice in any stretch of the imagination and anyone who says "you won't know know the difference" is kidding themselves but if you like cauliflower then you'll like this.

I tried the first one, and replaced the chicken with Quorn. It was nice, I'd make it again. We just pulsed the cauliflower in the blender, and it didn't come out mushy.

i think you ARE supposed to remove moisture from the "riced"cauliflower not just if you desire, otherwise it ends up too mushy

What this video didn't tell you to do is the winner in Cauliflower rice: after you process the cauliflower, place several pieces of towel paper on top of the rice and press all the moisture out of it! Cauliflower is water retentive and will store tons of water. It cooks WAY better and is WAY crispier if you press all the water out of it before adding it to anything!

I just tried this for dinner - I have not tasted it yet, but making it was such a lot of work - and I don't like too much work in the kitchen, especially when you're starving. I probably don't have the best blender but damn trying to blend the cauliflower into littler pieces (that kind of looks like rice) took FOREVER. I think I'm switched off because I'm too irritated to try it. The recipe looked great especially because I'm trying to reduce my carb intake but woah this is time consuming.

can you guys have a video or two for vegetarians. I love your recipes but I'm a vegetarian and have trouble sometimes make some of the recipes. I would really appreciate if you could make one for vegetarians.❤❤
