Great classic! and very good cover!!
Thank you. I’m glad you liked it. It is a difficult song both musically and vocally. I certainly presented a challenge
wow, I was dreading listening to this as this has been a track I love, man, you have done it very proud indeed, no loss of flow or power. BRAVO, lovin this !!🎸
I appreciate that Ha! Ha! … it’s a BIG number and a little off piste for this channel but, as always, I appreciate you taking the time to listen and to comment. I hope you’re keeping well 😊
Great, well execcuted. Lovely to hear your wonderful Rock vocal's again too.
Cheers. It’s taken some time to get this to a point where I was actually happy with the sound. Given that the original was more than three years in the making I think I can allow myself a little slack 😂
You mention early Genesis. I presume you mean with Peter Gabriel on vocals. Foxtrot is definitely worth a listen. Love Peter as a solo artist too.
Sad to hear of Sinead O'Connor's death tonight. Another truly original & great musician.
@@andrewryder3779 I was actually listening to ‘Trespass’ this morning. ‘The Knife’ is certainly an interesting track
Damn, but this is a great cover. I never really 'got' Led Zeppelin until I was about 16 - I loved Punk - but someone at school had this and played it on the record player in the 6th form common room. A definite case of:
'What the f**k is that?' Likewise, 'Immigrant Song', which is about Vikings, and I still consider it one of the most thrilling songs ever recorded.
Yet another great cover version, and, as someone else commented, good to hear your 'Rock' voice, in fine fettle, too!
Nice one. 👍👍👍
Cheers Brian. I never really got prog rock until I joined a band and now look at me listening to Gong. I’ve been told I should give early Genesis a spin but not got round to it
@@dek1014 - Never dismiss anything without trying it first, I say. And saying that, I have tried several times, to 'get' Genesis, but without success. They're just a bit too safe, and ordinary for my taste. I like only one song of theirs, and that is 'Mama'. It sounds utterly evil. If they had made more records like that, then I might, just might, have enjoyed them. Now here's a thing: Shakin' Stevens. I remember all his hits and to the goth I was at the time, they were just 'meh'. His new album, Re-Set, made at the age of 75, is a thing of beauty. I bought a copy, and it's wonderful. It makes me think of the peerless set of albums Johnny Cash made towards the end of his life, with Rick Rubin. 'Green Door', it is not. The track 'All You Need Is Greed' just blew me away. But there you go. If, several years ago, you'd have said that I'd have bought a Shakin' Stevens record, and thoroughly enjoyed every note of it - I'd probably told you to "Go forth and multiply".
And Gong? I only have one album of theirs: '2032', (2009). I love it, but it's barking mad.
👍👍👍

Great cover!
Early Genesis would be very cool.
Speaking of Genesis...
Kevin Gilbert did my favorite version of Kashmir.
He's a guy who wrote most of Sheryl Crow's early hits and has received zero credit for the most part.
Had a band called Toy Matinee.
In a band called GIRAFFE he did a live show of 'The Lamb lies down on Broadway.'
Committed suicide right before the members of Genesis
were going to ask him to be the new vocalist for the band... before they decided to stick with Phil on vocals.
This idea of Kevin writing with Genesis has always been an interesting idea for me.
Peace all.

@skiptowne61 Have been listening to some Genesis. 'The Knife' from the album 'Trespass' has caught my attention. Very sad that some people never get to reach their potential. Mental health really is a b*****d
@@dek1014 'The Knife' would be an excellent choice!
But there are so many good ones to choose from.
I did one of 'The Carpet Crawlers' from 'The Lamb' a few years back.
Always happy to see you've posted new music.
