That's the key to his success tho. He has explained before that not all people watch stream, just yt videos. And he makes everything (as in background information of a particular story) understandable, so you can just follow him and get the news, without being in touch with everything yourself.

As someone who is a longtime FaZe fan, but stopped following them years ago, I gotta say Teeqo is such a genuine guy. I really hope he continues to find success with or without FaZe, and is welcomed in by this kinda new age of Twitch streamers and content creators.

@@victoriazero8869 100 Thieves might be one of the only ones that has a good idea, using the Esports teams to draw attention their profitable areas that have a big focus like clothing brands and normal content creation, whereas every other team seems to do the opposite. But I'd be surprised if even they are wholly profitable tbh.
@@Outwardpd100T is doing horrible too. They’re better off than many other orgs because their merch and keyboards do well, but at the end of the day esports is a massive money pit that has never and may never be profitable

Faze's story is pretty sad. There was an interview that happened not too long ago with Atozy where one of the older Faze members went through their history and how they got screwed over time after time. Started as something for friends and gotten eaten up and become real corporate.

I used to genuinely love the faze clan when they lived in the same house in NY. They were funny, they use to mess with each other, shoot videos, and it seemed like genuine friends hanging in a house.
I still remember watching "Things FaZe Adapt does" back when they still had the NY FaZe house. Like Adapt snorting Gfuel like it's crack or lighting water on fire.

If there's one thing I've learned while working for Gamestop, it's that just because someone knows how to "make money", doesn't mean they know how to make money with EVERYTHING. That goes for basically any older invester dipping their toes into pop culture/entertainment as a whole.

I've never watched Faze, never been big into esports. This sounds scarily similar to what happened with Defy Media. A group made by kids get's bought by a suspiciously wealthy company in exchange for shares. Company then starts bleeding money and we know what happened with Defy... I'd get out while I can if I were a member (not sure how the contracts are written, but honestly getting a lawyer and trying to get out is probably the best option) so I don't get caught in the crossfire when the walls comes crumbling.
Can’t even blame the faze members either. They were just a bunch of teenagers who made a living playing video games with no business experience. Then the men in suits show up with a bunch of money upfront saying sign here. Corporate ruined the org they aren’t at all in touch with the space they invested into.
@@Yrgzip0 oh for sure. Definitely don't blame a bunch of teens/young adults for seeing what was probably a massive check and thinking signing away their business was a good idea. Financial literacy really isn't something we get taught, we're just expected to know better

I honestly could care less about the down fall of faze, however the only thing crazy to me is the whole faze 5 thing only getting 200 concurrent viewers. When I still watched faze I remember the first faze 5 contest, it was black ops 2 and I even tried making an edit for it; I didn’t get enough clips but that’s besides the point, it was a huge deal that they were taking random community members in to consideration for the team because at the time you had to go through other trickshotting/sniping clans to get a name known enough to be recruited to faze. You had to be in soar, optic, shit even AE7 before faze would even look at your clips so the faze 5 contest was super crazy and something their entire audience wanted to be apart of, flash forward 10 years and no one could care less…. Really shows me how old I’ve truly gotten xD

I used to trickshot back in the day around 2009/2010 when FaZe was starting out. It used to be so much fun going for shots and trying to get in FaZe. But anybody could join back then with enough work. That’s just not how it is today. They failed when they made it impossible for the average fan to join with enough work and dedication.

The thing that gets me is that it's Faze "brand", when an esports org stops being a competitive organisation is if it doesn't focus on the fact they are competition first always. You need to have the best of the best and actually win with them. If you don't and just focus only on financials you are in trouble.

On the points of 50 year olds not creating any gaming culture though, 100% agree on that being the case here and probably the majority of other cases where the company direction is influenced by anyone over 40. There are plenty of examples of people in other positions and even similar positions absolutly creating gaming culture. For example (not similar to this case but countering the point made) Hidetaka Miyazaki, who is almost 50 and the main driving force behind the "souls" games. That statment was just way to broad. take a look at destiny 2 light fall dlc you can clearly see these ceos have literally no clue wtf to do besides drip feeding content or make people pay 60$ ,then a month later make it free like bf2042. EA(activision), bungie, rockstar, and blizzard.. the list goes on but they only want to make that quick 60$ then move on to the next 60$ without making a good or finished product. dlcs with inflation are going up to 50$ and games are now 70$ on new gen consoles. they think people will forever buy these games but fail to realize the expiration date is as long as the generation they enticed play it. cod for example is going to die in 5 years bc of the amount of dry and bs content along with the 20-40$ glow bullets that make it look cool, this just goes to show what the real content is every year for cod is, now lets see what we get for a single dlc .. 4 mp maps that shouldve been in the game since release??? and maybe a arena map. i understand having content under wraps and working on it but they knew 9 months before they were going to release the map and even had the damn thing mapped out.. they just want to save more ideas for future games when they could make loads of more money making one singular good game like Fortnite,, notice how they dont switch every 3 years to a different game all they do is add content and make it free with options to make your self look cool... not saying fortnite is peak but it definitely needs to be looked at by all these 50 years old's for content creation. at the very least there is hope in the future when the old fucks die out and people who care about video games get to run the company but i dont really see that happening. sorry had to rant about corpo bs somewhere and you had to take the eassy to the face..
