I think twich's biggest problem is that Amazon is big enough to let twitch fail.
Google is also big enough to let UA-cam streaming fail too.
Fuck. That hit me.
@@jt25JT not really youtube is way more popular than twitch amazon and is definitley one of googles most active apps
@@okay8458 Yup. And UA-cam only continues to grow, they would never let go of it, considering it's also one of the most visited websites in the world (Right behind Google)
@@okay8458 UA-cam yes. But not really the streaming portion.
remember kids: corporations are never your friends
Except for twitch they love me ❤
and reddit they replied to my comment on reddit
No exceptions.
Luckily a lot of kids are realizing
Car companies are 🙂
Twitch is just going to get more of the same. Emmet Shear has not really been in charge for years. It's all been Dan. Now he just has the fancy title, but the decisions will remain the same.
I mean, they haven't been good so far and the new title does give him more power in the company.
Interpunction is vital
@@killerluuk YEP
Pray for twitch
CEOs in general don't really do more than just being the face of the company, they technically have the last say in every decision but rarely care since they trust the other higher-ups to do whatever.
Mogul has enough time for 2 videos in one day and impersonating luddy. That’s actually insane
lud impersonates him
and watching MXM
Can’t believe Lud stole his name for his esports team to spite him kinda fucked up
This will never stop being funny to me.
Don't get it twisted. It's that guy "ludwig" who's impersonating our boy mogul mail
Twitch is the only company that can say nothing will change if they lost their CEO.
Ok
Ok
Ok
Ok
Ok
I think the only two things that break the camels back causing a massive group of audiences and streamers to leave is if:
1. Twitch gets rid of Prime subs.
2. They take a bigger cut from subs than 50/50.
The current system of 3 minute of ads every hour to avoid the ones when you first tune in is OK, but I don't see it being the end all be all. They'll eventually ask creators to run more ads.
As a viewer I don't give a fuck about Prime. But I get that many streamers would. Although, UA-cam contracts would be far less lucrative if Prime was gone/if there was an exodus. In fact its plausible that YT contracts stop if people actually start leaving Twitch.
So its not clear that it would be better to leave Twitch when monetising YT streams is so bad atm (Mostly because most YT streamers have contracts so don't need donos/subs to make a living)
Prime subs don't even have to go away. Twitch doesn't drive Prime subscriptions, it's a perk of Prime. Amazon Prime is constantly increasing in price to the point many people will start to see diminishing returns and will cancel. That will decrease Prime subs on twitch.
@@surenick3460Amazon prime going up in price won’t make a difference to twitch prime subs etc. they do wayyy to many deals with other companies, like twitch, Grubhub, video games, shopping. Even if it’s 15$ I argue 20$ a month. You’re getting your moneys worth if u take advrange do everything. Now if all u use is that one free sub, sure you’re wasting money. But that’s on the user for not taking advantage. I’ve gotten so many free games, free stuff for games, Amazon prime video, Grubhub free delivery with Amazon prime. Often get subscriptions for other games like a month trial etc for stuff
The new thing that is pushing viewers away is their new ad system that pauses the ad the moment you change tabs, so now you are forced to watch the 3 to 4 minutes of ads without being able to watch something else. For people with only one monitor this sucks, and it will end up destroying the platform
The ads aren’t that big of an issue especially the pre-rolls those don’t bother me
so basically twitch somehow replaced a ceo that did absolutely nothing for 16 years with someone that is somehow worse
Twitch replaced a ceo that has done nothing for the past like 5 years*
Nice job.
@@alaskaone with the person who was actually running things already
CEO shouldn't have to do anything, really. That's something to learn in business. The higher you are, the less hands-on you are. You're dealing more with board members, investors and the heads of the departments more than having involvement in specific areas.
@@omgvague okay, the problem is that he obviously wasn't doing that, if he was then we'd see some kind of change already. nice try with the devil's advocate, doesn't suit you though
Ludwig talking to Susan on a personal level just allways makes me laugh😂
I think it's great for him that he's retiring to spend more time with his kid, good on him, and I hope he enjoys his retirement! :)
Emmett has been retired for 12 years. Once the acquisition was done, so was he.

As someone who works with Associate Relations at Publix, a new CEO being out of touch in a company that's supposed to be supportive to its workers is really bad news.
At Publix for example, one of the biggest complaints and reasons for leaving I hear from associates is that their managers don't seem to care about them outside of when they do a bad job. The majority of these managers I see that are getting promoted have such business-focused mindsets that although they seem to excel at their job and can work the long management shifts, they often don't prioritize the needs and happiness of their associates and are more often promoted cause they "fit the uniform" in a sense (However I have luckily seen a few exceptions).
Going back to Twitch, there's that same sense of lack of priority for the associates. It's less and less about "How can we work to improve the jobs of our streamers and improve the experience for our viewers?" It's now becoming, "How can we make more money while still providing the same services?" The part they leave out is that if the streamers are unhappy, their community will be too. Props to everybody in the streaming field, really hoping things don't go south for everyone's sake...
tbh i think the companies just do the bare min. and dont care about creators at all. it feels like they have a set amount of money they can burn and still not being profitable, as long they dont "cost" too much. idk what the profit from this is, maybe #ads, #mouthtomouthpropaganda #marketshares #personaldata... idk, but for some reason they just let these "side" businesses run, no matter what.
I lost a LOT of hope after DJ Wheat left twitch. I watched him go from Starcraft caster, to twitch employee, to the person who was pushing the most for creators. I know there's still people at twitch who care about the streamers, but I really actually think Emmett checked out long ago. So I just hope that those people are the ones that step up and fill the shoes of people like DJ Wheat.
eh DJ wheat was a dudebro tool as well who's head was so far up his own ass he could smell what he had for lunch by dinner. His loss wasn't meaningful in any capacity - twitch is just incompetent with or without him
Surprised he even remembered he was the CEO!!
Can you imagine if this guy and ludwig met up in real life??
Nope
god i'm so tired of this fucking joke, I always check comments hoping for good insights or comments that highlight something not mentioned in the video but with Ludwig its always this rotting cadaver of a joke
Ludwig died dude
Maybe they did who knows. New ceo spoke with tons of streamers across the board over the years. From all platforms.
Who?
i'll be totally honest youtube livestreaming has caught up to twitch majorly in the past year. i kind of prefer it now actually. its in the same place as all my videos and VODs are easier to access. the big downside is that the clips system really sucks but otherwise i'm chilling.
i just need theatre mode from youtube and its over for twitch I don't like fullscreen cause I cant read chat but I don't like standard cause it distracts me and then I click on other videos
@@Panda-Monium251 Theater Mode has been a thing for years!
@@Panda-Monium251yea what the ther dude said it’s desktop only tho pretty sure
When they split out livestream/short/video on channels it got so much better.
Chat still sucks and despite having a better split on memberships that have a worse split on their direct donation method.
The biggest thing though is emotes and chat. I know a lot of people will never join membership on youtube because your benefits are locked to only that channel.
2 mogul moves in one day?? we’re eating today
Ludwig has left twitch but is still fucking obsessed with it. Nobody on twitch talks as much about youtube as this guy talks about twitch. Bro just wants tk cope about leaving.
@@blutoo1363 lmao he has tons of friends on twitch and he was on there for a while. it makes sense that he’d care… idk why you care so much tho lol
@@patrongay I was just making an observation. I don't mean him any offense by that. It's just quite obvious that he misses the place and is not 100% happy with his decision to switch. Still, nothing can give someone 100% happiness so he should still be good.

UA-cam and Twitch both getting new CEOs… weird
they both got a lot of money during covid because everyone was watching content online.. That's over now, so they're also both done

What I hate about twitch is the amount of 30 second ads when you start watching a streamer
Yup, I don’t even use Twitch anymore because of there being no adblock that works anymore

@@Hansgame Really? Last I checked the twitch ad solutions github has no working methods
I started my channel about 7 months ago on youtube and my plans where always to build up a community here slowly and then attempt to move the community over to twitch live streams to have a second form of revnue/workflow. The closer I have gotten to getting ready to do this goal the more I have began to think and wonder if this is even still a smart thing to do. Its hard not to see Amazon looking like they want to pull out from twitch with the recent layoffs that they did to them and the downhill spiral we have all seen... man i hope things either get better over there or UA-cam steps there game up with the streaming stuff!

Lately it seems like the entire format of media on the Internet is changing. I don't know if it's exactly for the worse or better, or maybe something else entirely. Maybe UA-cam can step up and convince some streamers to move from twitch to UA-cam. Good luck to everyone!
As a Dan, this is a huge year for Dan's. First we have an AI named after us and now the AI is taking over Twitch? Get ready for more Seinfeld streams
The moment when you ask the former CEO of a multi billion dollar corporation to text you about a conspiracy theory
I absolutely believe his theory, that’s what rich people do to stay above the rest of us
was watching the faze mogul mail when i got the notif for this one lol
Ok that’s cool new twitch stuff but where tf did you get that sweater I want it
When i first used Twitch I always found it weird that there's no general subscription to remove ads. You have to do it individually for each streamer. It's just mind boggling how much subs you have to spend if you want to support various streamers
May I introduce you to Twitch Turbo? www.twitch.tv/turbo
It feels more exclusive and gets people to spend more while still accepting advertisements. If they can pull it off they have no reason not to do this it’s incredibly lucrative. As long as the income statement and balance sheet look nice it’s not of concern to the company.
It’s called turbo
That's been a thing for a long while now. It's called Twitch Turbo.
Turbo exists. It's been around since 2013 if I recall correctly. They do not advertise it though. Or make it easy to access. It's hidden in settings and stuff so that you are more likely to buy individual subs for channels you love.
youtube ceo and twitch ceo leaveing in the mixt of the streaming wars literally cannot be a good thing
Always love when there’s a new mogul mail vids

Accidently clicked a video from some guy called "Ludwig" thinking it was Mogul Mail. Crazy how similar they look!!!
As a newbie streamer who just finished their affiliate paperwork. I REALLY hope that changes are made for the better and not for the worse. It’s already had enough growing on twitch as a small streamer and I just hope it doesn’t get harder with money being the main goal
The reason I don't go to Twitch almost and don't sub anymore is because i realized two things:
1) I learned about the term Parasocial Relationships and realized that I was well on my way to becoming a creepy simp. I realized how a lot of the attention that I was getting from streamers was NOT real acknowledgement, no one actually cared about me, and I was being shepherded by a false sense of importancy/relevancy into paying more of my money for falling deeper into that fallacy.
2) I realized that the more I spent on the platform, the more I felt obligated be there. Even when I wanted to do other things, I always felt that I subbed to someone, so I need to be on their streams to get my money's value. I got a higher title, therefor I need to show my worth by being there more.
Getting detached from real world friends and family just to be on the platform.
Paying lots of money for things and titles that don't really exist or mean anything.
Getting into delusional relationships with cetrain streamers/moderators.
In hindsight these things looks like a person being sucked into cult-like behaviors. And in those regards, Twitch can be an absolutely toxic and dangerous platform.
Same. Im self aware of this and cut back like 80% on watching twitch. Theres just too many things to do thats lit in life than looking at a screen that isnt even real lol.

Maybe Susan and Emmet are going off to make their own video sharing platform. Now that would be a banger. We need more competition so that would be great. Although amidst going into a recession probably not the best play.
So glad Ludwig followed Mogul Mail and moved to UA-cam really early on❤
Mogul Mail was on twitch? Didn't know that because the lack of discoverability.
I can't believe Ludwig trynna use AI to mimic your face and your voice Mogul 😪

First youtube, now twitch, maybe things'll start changing in the video and streaming industry.
Emmet definitely was watching some video about twitch and heard his name like someone hearing their name in the hunger games
hey ludwig i know you are seeing this love your takes and keep up the good work. Have a nice day and night.
You two ignore the bots.
when he mentioned the recession at the end… i’m so scared ngl
Don’t be scared, there’s nothing to be afraid about, recessions come and go. Atleast if people are gonna be poor we can be poor together, money isn’t the end all and be all anyway. Recessions also bring positive change due to the need for it, and it also brings people more together. I wouldn’t worry about it as you don’t have direct control over it either way ❤

Twitch needs to loosen their restraints. The things they do and don't do are asinine.

I want to appreciate Ludwig for strapping the pants and upload more content for us, despite all the things that have been happening especially with QT. Respect, my man! I was expecting you take an actual break, but here you are. It's awesome.
Now, I don't want to give you some bad news amidst this wholesome message, but it has come to my attention, that a certain streamer, tall and skinny, earned a +1 yesterday. Hope he had a great day. But it also seems that a certain other streamer, with red hair and big balloons sent him a birthday video saying hello and wishing him a happy birthday. Now, that all seems fine and wholesome, which it is. However... I think (not sure) she was supposed to be doing the Luddy. I'm not a Luddy expert, but from what I've seen so far, that's ONE OF THE WORST ONES. I feel you should know about it and take action asap. She has too much influence to be Luddying around like that, pretending it's all fine. This is very dangerous.
PS: I don't care about Emett Shire
Go touch some grass
“Why don’t you make some products so that there’s some discoverability on the platform, why don’t we create some sort of system in which people can grow on Twitch natively without growing on other platforms and then bring their viewers to Twitch”
Thanks Ludwig, someone had to say this loud and clear. This is why I've created a startup with some friends of mine and I developed a game around this concept - Fantastreamer - where small/new streamers can be seen and benefit from the communities of the bigger streamers that decided to join.
This video is such an inspiration for keep us goin.

Great, restructuring surely will not lead to anything bad for any of our platforms
Twitch needs a tiktok/shorts feed that links directly with peoples channels. Scroll through clips or live content that can rope you into checking out the channel directly in the same app not external link following. Seems like they have the resources to do it weird that they wouldn’t want to considering how well short form content does. Make the short form feed to long form
Wait, did this guy really just explain the concept of twitch clips? lol
Edit: I get what your saying btw, make an interface that suggests and displays clips that you might like based on an algorithm like all other content consumption sites/apps.
UA-cam switch looking real good right now. Maybe Lud's actually a time traveller and knew about all the Twitch...things that would happen. Not in this car lol.
Please collab with Ludwig
God damn it Clancy
I'm not worried or over joyed I'm not expecting much change nor at a changed rate of speed for changes to come through. I have a feeling it'll just be the same old twitch. Without someone cultured in the space it'll just be more of the usual.
The thing is.... UA-cam and Twitch thrive in recessions for viewership. People will choose to go out less and stay in more often which will lead to more viewership.
