One of the things I love about this, is if you didn't know who he was you'd be like oh some humble random composer guy. But if you know who he is, it's like oh shit it's venus theory! his catalog and accreditations are nuts, and his setup is simple and well thought out. And he's really just a chill ass dude who happens to be super talented. Thanks for doing this one

Holy sh*t, two of my favorite music YTbers together, let me grab a cup of coffee and enjoy this ride. Greetings, gents!
It's really cool seeing a 'behind the scenes' of one of your favourite home studios and realizing that how something is filmed has everything to say about your interpretation of the room. This room is much smaller than I expected, but Cameron makes it look huge (and amazing). Very well put together, but also it is great to hear that people who produce that you respect and like their musical output don't always have this 'perfect' space either. Making what you have work for your purposes is such a great realization, instead of wishing you had a 'better' studio. I guess that it's about making your space as perfect as it can be to get your work done, instead of dreaming of how much better a different space would be.
Will Andrew ever reveal the true sound of my voice? Will I ever find a damn ronroco? Did we eat fried chicken after this was filmed? Find out next time on Dragonball Z.
Coming into this video, I knew very little about synths and modulation type controllers etc. And I have to say, coming out of the video, I now realize the little amount I did know, is even less than I thought 😂Love both your channels! Was stoked to see this studio tour!
Such a great video, so refreshing to see a studio that's just there to get the job done, look good on camera. It's really awesome to see super over the top things too, but this is out together to serve it's purpose and not oh look at this expensive over the top hear I have.
What a cool treat! Two of my favorite channels colliding! You should try to get w/Benn Jordan next. That would be the holy triumvirate for my UA-cam geeking out! :)
Loved this. Really good to see you hook up with Venus Theory. Great to finally see his studio in it's entirety! Just gave me an idea for a new master keyboard!
I don't have a studio. I just have a very large pile of guitars, amps, pedals and synthesizers. 24 Martin guitars. Good videos about different studios. Amazing what some people have set up.
2 question 2 a pro - 1st. would you get the Prophet 10 over the PolyBrute and 2. would you get Apollo x8 over AudioFuse 16Rig. Your opinion on this 2 topics would be nice 😊 Thanks and thanks for your great content
Yep! Vast majority of my work is done in Reaper these days aside the odd Audacity job or doing sampling with Samplerobot or some tweaking with a few random specialty tools/apps. Reaper is pretty kickass!
Great video! Btw Cameron you can get really nice and reasonably priced Ronroco's from "Bolivia Mall" I ordered one and am super happy with it. If you want to go big Pablo Richter is the guy. That's where Gustavo Santoalla gets his.
@@VenusTheory Yup mine has been going strong for 5 years. They're basically middlemen for small luthier's in the region. I was even able to customize mine with a Fishman pickup in it.
You should invest in a binaural head microphone thingy to record the sound of the studios you visit by playing a reference piece of music in the monitors with the head mic placed in the sweet spot. That would be a nice outro to each video . Like pop on the headphones and listen to where I went . I think it would be interesting to hear de differences between all these sound people's ears and listening preferences .
So, the ADAM AUDIO spekaers/sub you dearly love, right? They should be EXTRA nice, given the cost!! Ok, you wanna know what's FUN and FUNNY?? Going back 6 years and watching your UA-cam videos. Hysterical! You look like your'e 14 years old. And your Voice AUDIO is like TO THE MOON better now! Just wondered if you go back and revisit the old vids? I'm a patron, so go easy on me.
Big question about the Sub in the left front corner. I know already that bass is not directional, but is it REALLY such un-directional, that you can place it even so far away or is it some foolery my dude? Thank you in advance!
Just looked on Amazon and unfortunately it's no longer available but the brand was 'Rolanstar' - should be able to find an alternative that's close though, lots of random brand desks that seem to be pretty much identical!
Mostly due to room acoustics - DIY acoustic curtain very much needed. Also makes life easier for filming to make sure lighting is consistent and when editing videos and such a dark room is nice so I can really get a sense of what's on the monitor without a giant glaring window right behind it. Plus the daystar burns and I have l337ing to do.
youtube yet again taking people who could take a chance actually composing art and instead shying away into being an artificial limb to actual creatives
Cool to build a new studio, yes. But not at all necessary. A decent sound card, a Midi keyboard and a good microphone will do just fine. If you then play an instrument such as electric guitar or acoustic guitar, you have to put up some extra money. But these brag builds don't impress me - it's just a way to compete in who has the best resources, financially. It is a fact that most of us hobby musicians are in pretty bad shape financially, so you have to adapt your equipment accordingly. Absolutely shit in these builds. In the end, you can get a very good sound with a cheap Midi keyboard and run with samples and loops as a foundation. Creativity is what makes a good computer musician, not a penis competition in who has the most expensive home studio.
Imo he's got a cool studio but I disagree with the idea that plugins sound as good as analog gear (in all cases) and especially that outboard gear hinders creativity. I think it can bring out ideas you wouldn't do in the box. And we should shoot for the best sounds. Whatever that is to the artist
Fun hang with Cameron. Check out his channel linked in the description.

haha it was a fun hang, thanks for checking it out!
My favorites too 🤭
came here for this (both content and this comment 😄)
☕🤠
Cameron is an amazing inspiration and so are you. Great to see you guys doing a collab
"I show it to my wife, and she's like, 'Meh...', and that's when I know it's done." -- I feel this. 😂
One of my favorite UA-camr. So nice to see this episode.

One of the greatest crossovers in UA-cam

LMAO...
Nice studio man! What kind of mic do you use with your cam when record youtube videos?
Finally a studio that seems possible to use.
And potentially own ❤
@@Wolfbabypuppylovetrue. It will be a grind, but less impossible than what is usually on this channel.
Cool, I remember his wife coming up those stairs (now wall'ed) a couple of years ago .. great presentation as always! 🙂
Weird to see him out of character but simultaneously so in character haha
I love this studio. Great equipment and a really chill environment. Thanks to you both.
Great grandpa’s guitar is beautiful.💙👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
❤ that firebird is the snatch!!!

Great video, cool dude and awesome studio! 👍🏻👏🏻🍻🍻🙋🏼♂️
Cameron's got some mad finger picking chops! I love his knowledge and skills on all his stringed toys!
Love both your vids guys. This ones nice and geeky. Perfect.
Great
I watch Cameron all the time. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Chez Venus Theory.
Venus Theory! Awesome!.. You gotta do Ben Jordan next... Please please :)
Cameron! Great guy, great channel
Cameron is such a fine dude, I really like his videos and comments on temporary music production
Dude- this channel is awesome- so helpful and fun to watch. Thank you
Ayyyyye Venus Theory! Very cool (:
Utterly fascinating. Thanks for making these videos with such great studios and musicians.

That's the trio I watch regularly, Colt, Cameron and Andrew. Cool guys, fun stuff :)
I love this dude. Ran into him at NAMM and was, as I expected, one of the nicest dudes out there. Thanks for a great vid, for a great dude! TY
Love it
His voice is incredibly deep. Such a pleasure to listen
Good to know his voice actually sounds like this
So awesome!! Man I always had Casio keyboards typecast in my mind as sort of cheap and entry level boards…but that thing is an amazing beast!!
LMAO .... You had me at "I gave your video editor all my voice pre-sets so I can sound like I do in the video's" GREAT sense of humour!
My true voice has now been witnessed and sworn to secrecy by Andrew and an NDA about as thick as a tomahawk steak.
Loved this. Really good to see you hook up with Venus Theory. Great to finally see his studio in it's entirety! Just gave me an idea for a new master keyboard!

yeah this guy is the man.
Awesome studio!
Ahh you've found one of the preset overlords. Nice one. Great tour too. Venus Theory always on point.
This video was really amazing i watched the whole video 🤯🤯🤯
Gotta get me one of those lofts...
Aw snap Venus Theory the man responsible for like 80 percent of my sounds through Decent Sampler!
Cameron is the REASON I incorporate synth music into my songs.
YES!!!!!!!
Awesome collaboration!

Is he using Reaper!? if so it's good to see a "Pro" using Reaper
Yep! Vast majority of my work is done in Reaper these days aside the odd Audacity job or doing sampling with Samplerobot or some tweaking with a few random specialty tools/apps. Reaper is pretty kickass!
I thought the whole game audio industry has already been using Reaper.
Oh yeah!!!!
Cameron probably doing his dammed hardest not to drop an F bomb. 😂
'Tis the well mannered counterpart of the buckaroonie supreme.
He sounds crazy cool I’m following him right now 😲…….
Actually I clicked the link surprisingly I’m subscribed to his channel 😅

Had my eye on that a few times - good to know it's actually legit! Perhaps Santa will be extra nice and accidentally drop one off.
@@VenusTheory Yup mine has been going strong for 5 years. They're basically middlemen for small luthier's in the region. I was even able to customize mine with a Fishman pickup in it.
I visited his website and he listed everything he has in the studio. Even the furniture.
If you can get Ricky Tinez on the show you'd have like, collected the two American Infinity Stones of electronic music youtubers
Thanks for the epic journey! I wonder what's the right bottom metering plugin on the screen, looks handy!
Ah, it's Decibel by Process Audio!

Yeah I should get back on that 😅

If it has a single out but multiple parts . . it's a groovebox.
Cool you went to Cameron's! What was that midi controller 5 by 5 what?

What size Samsung screen monitor and brand of screen mount in the back of monitor? Thx
Great stuff…excellent studio and one cool guy…(just wondering why you put incidental music behind the voices? Seems odd?) Anyway - good work y’all.
Does he ever say where he got the main desk furniture? I’ve scrolled a lot and don’t catch it.
Cameron could make a lot of money doing voice overs.....
Never heard of penis theory, but this is a sick studio! Cool to see how less rock forward studios are build and what their priorities are.
Dood that's either the most stealthiest insult ever or one of the best spell corrects I've ever saw.
@@Wolfbabypuppylove it’s all love, Venus just sounds like penis
I see PSP vintage warmer in the screen
nice studio but its so dark lol studios never seem to have any colour in them

Don't know that I'd call a fully carpeted room "amazing for sound".
nothing "epic" about it
epic? this not epic
this new intro is sick
